Tony McManus and Julia Toaspern have brought together their unique musical worlds to create a sound that is both innovative and deeply rooted in tradition. As a duo, McManus, with his virtuoso celtic guitar stylings, and Toaspern, with her experimental, contemporary approach to composition perform powerful, interwoven guitar duets; traditional, classical and self-penned songs; and soaring fiddle sets. From Paisley but now resident in Canada, Tony McManus is recognised as the world’s leading celtic guitarist and was recently listed as one of the 50 most transcendental guitarists of all time by Guitar Player magazine. While Tony is known as a soloist, his frequent collaborations with diverse musicians have always been a significant part of his work. Julia Toaspern is a multi-talented musician from Berlin who combines classical training with a wide interest in genres such as jazz, baroque and traditional music. She has released two albums of original songs and has performed in both classical and singer/songwriter modes on both sides of the Atlantic. Her skills as a guitarist are also prodigious and make an ideal fit with Tony’s own style. Remember you are beauty full

Remember you are beauty full

2 Oct 2026 - 2 Oct 2026

Funny, raw and heart-warming, Remember you are beauty full follows the mystery of a young woman, Alanah, whose life has lost its shine. Since her marriage evaporated, she’s distracted herself by holding everyone else’s life together - elderly neighbours, endless clients at the family planning drop-in centre, and her high-maintenance friend’s impending wedding. When inexplicable and flattering graffiti appears on the wall outside her flat, Alanah begins to realise that perhaps she is not as lost as she may feel. But who has sprayed the graffiti? Why? And what does it mean? Matthew McVarish’s sharply observed one-woman play is a love-letter to ordinary people surviving extraordinary loneliness. Laced with fierce humour, heartbreak and hope, it captures the wit, resilience and quiet heroism of working-class Scotland. Originally premiered at Òran Mór 2012 and hailed by The Herald as “the best play in any theatre in Scotland this year,” Remember you are beauty full is an unforgettable journey through loss, laughter and rediscovery, reminding us all that we are, indeed, beauty full. Directed by Patrick Sandford, returning to Perth Theatre where he began his career 40 years ago. Previews: £15; Concessions £13 (inc £2.50 booking fee per ticket)

Sleeping Beauty

Sleeping Beauty

27 Nov 2026 - 31 Dec 2026

Perth Theatre presents Sleeping Beauty Writer & Director: Barrie Hunter Musical Director: Alan Penman Assiciate Director & Choreographer: Chris Stuart Wilson Lighting Designer: Wayne Dowdeswell Set & Costume Designer: Becky Minto It's all been happening up at The Big Hoose! Local Laird Sir Coupar Angus and his talented wife Annie (the famous singer) have an announcement - they're the proud parents of a beautiful baby girl, Aurora (born on the night the Northern Lights danced across the sky). Everyone is delighted and excited... well, almost everyone. Annie's banished sister Malania The Mirthless (a dabbler in the Dark Arts) is furious at the news, and curses her sister's family from afar. A year later at The Wee Hoose, Dame Livvie McSkivvie is busy preparing for Aurora's 1st birthday party with her dutiful son Murray, a child prodigy chef (pies a speciality!), but on arrival at The Big Hoose, they are met with some tragic news - Aurora's mum has mysteriously disappeared! Malania has (not so mysteriously) appeared, offering to marry Sir Coupar and bring up Aurora as her own daughter - an offer that is flatly refused! Malania is raging, and curses Aurora, warning them that should she prick her finger on a spinning wheel (how random is that?!) before she turns 21, she will spend the rest of her life in a Deep Sleep, and her life will amount to nothing..... BOO!!! Livvie McSkivvie is beside herself with fear and anxiety and makes haste to The Medium Hoose to seek advice from local psychic Claire Voyant (obviously), who tells her she must shelter Aurora at The Wee Hoose, disguise her identity til she's 21, and the curse will be broken. And so it comes to pass that Aurora becomes Rory, Murray's wee brother and best pal, and a life of fun and adventure unfolds (and lots of music in "Rory's" case), at least until the eve of Aurora's 21st birthday... Who's all coming to the party? Who are all these cute wee woodland creatures who have just turned up at The Big Hoose? Will Aurora make it to 21, and will she be releasing her first album if she does? And WHO gifted her a brand new, shiny turntable and speakers for her birthday? It's time to spin this tale, so spread the news, As we all well know, if you snooze, you lose!! 17 Jun 2026 - 18 Jun 2026

Marguerite Blakeney thought she’d married a fool. Sir Percy is vain, shallow, and more concerned with his wardrobe than his wife. What she doesn’t know is that his ridiculous foppishness is a disguise — because Percy is secretly the Scarlet Pimpernel, England’s most daring hero, rescuing aristocrats from the guillotine. And worse still, Marguerite has unknowingly betrayed him to his greatest enemy, the ruthless Chauvelin, the Republic’s finest bloodhound. In this fast, funny three-actor retelling, romance and revolution collide in a whirlwind of disguises, daring rescues, marital misunderstandings, and gloriously silly comedy. Will Marguerite save her brother without destroying her marriage? Can Percy outwit Chauvelin and keep his secret safe? And how much of the budget has been spent on a ridiculous amount of wigs?

Gary Meikle: Yer Maw

Gary Meikle: Yer Maw

4 Sept 2026 - 2 Dec 2026

Hi guys! It’s me, Gary. These blurbs do my head in, if I’m honest. Each year I need to sit and write one out before I even know what stories I’m gonna share. So what's the new show about? I don’t know yet, but it will contain at least one 'yer maw' joke! What I do know is that it’ll be another brand-new combination of stories, opinions and observations about me and my family, as well as all of you. It's always about people and the mad things we do, sometimes animals too, but more often than not it's about people and the stupid scenarios we end up in.

The Spooky Men’s Chorale is a magnificent, many-headed beast which has single-handedly turned the world of men’s singing upside down. Formed in New South Wales in 2001, the Spooks have become rock-solid festival and theatre favourites in Australia, UK and Europe, with seven albums and 900 gigs under their belts. No subject is too trivial or weighty for their attention, and such ability to find new musical rooms to explore contributes greatly to their astonishing fan loyalty. The show evokes musical worlds far beyond that suggested by their unassuming, casually hatted, black-clad appearance. They are just a bunch of blokes, but where they take you will blow your mind.

Outwardly untouched by time and vices, Dorian remains the picture of perfection… while hidden away, his true soul etches itself into the canvas. As he grapples with the notion of possessing immortality and with the assistance of the influential Lord Henry Wotton, Dorian descends into an ever more debauched lifestyle of increasingly questionable morality. All the while, the painting absorbs his sins and wrongdoings into its canvas. Lavish, haunting and unforgettable, this is a story where nothing is quite as it seems – and every desire leaves its mark!

Blackeyed Theatre and Arcola Theatre present The Turn of the Screw Adapted from the novella by Henry James Directed by Nicky Allpress England. A remote country house. A young governess, hired to care for two seemingly angelic children, begins what appears to be an idyllic new life. Yet there is something about the children that hints at a darker presence. Desperate to protect them from what she believes to be malevolent spirits, while the line between reality and imagination blurs, she finds herself descending into a world of ambiguity, leading to one far-reaching question; are the ghosts real... or are they a projection of something far more terrifying? A masterwork of psychological suspense and the inspiration for Susan Hill‘s The Woman in Black, The Turn of the Screw is brought to life in true Blackeyed style, combining powerful performances and stylish theatricality, where audiences become juries in deciding what’s truth and what isn’t!
