Part of Experience Ards and North Down 2025 Join Brian Meharg, author of the children's book "Jenny Watts Legend" and skipper of the Ocean Crest, as he invites you aboard to hear the story of infamous smuggler, Jenny Watt, while enjoying a cruise around beautiful Bangor Bay, off Belfast Lough. Make a day of it, as you step back onto dry land our annual Sea Bangor event, located at the seafront, will be in full swing, with food and entertainment for all the family. Boat trip ticket holders will be eligible for Special Offer - 10% Discount off food (valid on the day only) at Jenny Watt's Bar and Restaurant. Enjoy all that Pickie Funpark, Sea Bangor and the city centre has to offer by means of family fun, food, drink and hospitality! This boat tour will take place again on Sunday 24 August. Things to note Tour Guide Paul Whitla will be your host. The tour departs from the Jetty, located beside Pickie Funpark which is accessed by foot via the promenade linking to Queen's Parade car park. The annual Sea Bangor event will be on Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 May, so the city will be busy. Please consider this when planning your trip. Please wear appropriate clothing and footwear for the boat trip. The boat is not wheelchair accessible. No toilets on the boat. Closest toilets at Pickie Those aged under 18 yrs must be accompanied by a paying adult and also purchase a full price ticket. Tickets close 10am on the day before each tour date Getting there By car: from Belfast follow A2 to Bangor Town Centre. On street parking nearby. Car parking | Ards and North Down Borough Council By public transport: Train or bus to Bangor Station. From station walk straight/turn left heading down Main Street (past The Ava and the Post Office) to the seafront for approximately 10-15 minutes, along the promenade to the jetty located beside Pickie Funpark. See Translink for timetables The town will be busy due to the Sea Bangor event on Saturday and Sunday, so we would ask you to take this into consideration and allow yourself extra, especially if travelling by car or bus. Part of Experience Ards and North Down 2025 Tip - This would make a great Father's Day gift! Skipper Brian Meharg will navigate along Bangor's beautiful coastline while telling you some salty tales. Then sit back, relax and be entertained by local musicians, Clanreagh. You will be sure to have a healthy appetite after your cruise, so why not make a day of it and enjoy lunch in one of the city's many inviting restaurants? Things to note No concessions. Participants who are under 18 years must pay for a ticket and be accompanied by a ticket-holding adult. Minimum age 4 years old. Please wear appropriate clothing and footwear for the boat trip. The boat is not wheelchair accessible. No toilets on the boat. Continue straight down Main Street onto Queen's Parade on your left where free car parking is available, or avail of on street parking nearby (taking note of any time limitations, given the time of day).
