Since its first meet in 1884, Plumpton Racecourse has been hosting hurdle and steeplechase racing in East Sussex. In 2014, the course was voted one of the top ten visitor attraction racecourses in the country, putting it in the company of more famous courses such as Ascot, Epsom Downs and Newmarket. Like so many courses, Plumpton offers a wide variety of hospitality packages for corporate entertainment, weddings and other parties. Plumpton railway station is adjacent to the course, and road access is via the M25/A23 and A27 through Plumpton village. Gatwick Airport is about 20 minutes away by train, and for those keen to make a dramatic arrival, helicopter landings can be arranged by prior agreement with the Clerk of the Course.
