R-CADE hosts a weekly boardgame meetup for anyone to join in, learn new games and make some new friends. Each week staff will choose two different boardgames from the R-CADE games catalogue for the group to learn and play throughout the evening. There is a £3 fee to play our boardgames, you can pay when you arrive. Please note that our venue is cashless, but we accept all main forms of digital, card and app payments. Our full games list can be viewed on our website, and we will announce our game of choice on our socials before each weekly event. During our quiet time sessions video game audio and ambient music will be reduced, our capacity in the arcade is reduced, all patrons will be asked to keep noise to a minimum, and the creation of a low stimulant environment will be our top priority. Our venue is best suited for gamers aged 8 and up. Kids under 7 must be accompanied by a paying adult.

Book your pass and come down for an extended 2 hour retro game session and make some new friends. Staff will be on hand to set up lots of fun multiplayer games for you to play with other kids. This event has been created as an opportunity for kids to make new friends and socialise through the medium of retro gaming. This event is suitable for kids aged 8-14, and games will reflect this age range. It's time for a spring clean, a chance to get rid of those old boardgames you are bored of and enjoy some new ones absolutely free! During the April school holidays, we will set up a small table in our cafe piled up high with board games, card games and books that we had laying around and didn't have much use for anymore. Everything on our table is completely free for families to choose and take home to enjoy. This was also an opportunity for you to donate any unwanted boardgames and books for other families to take home. We never like the idea of perfectly useful goods going to landfill and we wanted to offer some fun, and completely free options for families over the school holidays. If you are donating items, here is a list of things that we can accept: -Boardgames, tabletop games, puzzle and card games. Please make sure these are complete (nothing worse than opening a game to find you can't actually play it!) -Travel games and activity books that have not been filled in. -Kid friendly books, annuals, comics and graphic novels. -We will NOT be accepting toys, plushies or collectables for this campaign (we just don't have the space!) -IMPORTANT: Please make sure that games donated are suitable for kids and families (teen games accepted too). We cannot accept adult rated games (Cards Against Humanity etc) during this campaign. This campaign has been created to help give games, books and activities to families who are struggling to find affordable things to do with their kids over the school holidays. We will have a two item policy for each family / group looking to take home items from our swap table. If we do have lots leftover we are more than happy for groups to take more, but we will start with two items to give everyone a chance to take home goodies. Our free boardgames table will be set up in the cafe between the 3rd and 19th of April, but you can donate anytime between now and April during our standard opening times. You do not have to donate to take something away, and you do not have to book an arcade pass either. You can always buy a tasty snack or drink from our cafe during your visit to help support our small business if you like, this is also not required (but very much appreciated!) No ticket required.
