R-CADE hosts a weekly boardgame meetup for anyone to join in, learn new games and make some new friends. Each week staff will choose two different boardgames from the R-CADE games catalogue for the group to learn and play throughout the evening. There is a £3 fee to play our boardgames, you can pay when you arrive. Please note that our venue is cashless, but we accept all main forms of digital, card and app payments. Our full games list can be viewed on our website, and we will announce our game of choice on our socials before each weekly event. Have you ever wanted to discuss your favourite games with like minded people and even some that are part of the industry? Viva La Games Club is a gaming spin on the book club craze that is currently happening. Your host Vivalahazy will be joined by guests to discuss gaming classics, and also their journey and life in the gaming industry. The first event will feature the host of VGC: The Video Game Podcast and recent Pokemon International Championship Europe panel host, Jordan Middler, and the game up for discussion will be the timeless PS1 classic, Metal Gear Solid. Be sure to join us for a a chat about our experiences with the game and a conversation about Jordan’s life in gaming and journalism. The talk will begin soon after 7pm in the arcade area. You will be seated in the arcade during the event. Your ticket will also grant you access to play in the arcade for the rest of the evening once the event has ended, around 8:30-9pm. Our venue will be open until 10pm.

Introducing our first Clone Hero music night! Just like Guitar Hero, and using the same peripherals, but with unlimited song titles to play from the past 6 decades, with new songs added every week! Our theme for our first Clone Hero night will be Pop punk, but you are welcome to request other genres during the party. While you wait for your turn to play you can play on our game consoles in the arcade, or hang out in our cafe, enjoy tasty drinks and snacks and play some boardgames. Our arcade hosts over 2500 video games available to play on 20 different original consoles. From the 70's Binatone through Atari, Nintendo, Sega, Playstation, Xbox and more! R-CADE's monthly quiz event promises to be an epic evening of trivia, prizes and a good laugh. This months quiz is all about our favourite villains from film, tv, games and musicals. Best dressed villain team gets bonus points! Assemble your own team or come alone and make some friends, and you can BYOB!

Join us for an evening of ye olde murder! Our host will take you through a 3 hour scripted murder mystery campaign set in medieval times. When you purchase a ticket you will be sent a character sheet to study before attending the murder mystery evening. We encourage themed costumes and additional character building for extra fun. Extra props will be available at the venue too.

Roll Wi' It are taking over the R-CADE for an evening of D&D for beginners. The team will take you through a 3 hour 'one shot' campaign, you will be given character sheets and the Roll Wi' It team will show you the basics of role play. This event is over 18's only. BYOB during events after 7pm (corkage fee applies)

Welcome to our third annual Tetris tournament at R-CADE. We will be following the official CTWC rules. The tournament will be run on nes consoles, with original Tetris nes cartridges on CRT tv's. We will be hosting a bracket tournament, supported by R-CADE staff. Players will be added to the R-CADE Challonge tournament website, and our tournament champion will go home with some epic R-CADE prizes (TBC). This event will run from 4:45 - 7pm, and our catalogue of over 2000 video games will also be available to play on other consoles throughout the evening when you are not playing Tetris. Our cafe will also remain open throughout the event for you to order snacks and drinks. As this is a tournament event, kids under 8 will not be allowed access to the arcade during this time. Kids under 12 must have an adult stay in the venue throughout the tournament, this adult does not need to purchase a ticket and can wait in the cafe.

Winning is for losers, and for one night only, losers get prizes! We will be setting up a selection of our favourite retro video games in the arcade, each with unique challenges, but all with one aim: in order to win, you must lose! Games you must lose will include: Mario Party, Micro Machines, Wii Sports. We will also host 'loser wins' tabletop games in the cafe during this event. You do not need to be an experienced player to join the event, it's all for fun, or you can just book a ticket and play our other video games in the arcade. It's also BYOB too!

To celebrate the 35th anniversary of Sonic The Hedgehog, we will be hosting an evening of Sonic games across the ages, mini challenges and our Sonic Speedrun challenge. Our Sonic Speedrun challenge will be hosted on the Sega Mega Drive, playing Sonic 1. Participants will be timed to complete stage 1 Green Hill Zone as fast as they can. The winner will receive R-CADE goodies. You do not need to take part in the speedrun challange, and our other games will also be available to play throughout the event too (restrictions will apply) As this is a challenge run event, kids under 8 will not be allowed access to the arcade during this time. Kids under 12 must have an adult stay in the venue throughout the tournament, this adult does not need to purchase a ticket and can wait in the cafe.
