Located on Newcastle’s historic Quayside in the Grade II Listed building, Neptune House, Riverside is one of Newcastle’s most iconic live music venues since opening in 2010. It features two rooms and unique decorations. The venue was refurbished in 2017 and to install new lighting and L Acoustics Sound. The venue has hosted a variety of acts from around the world, including Jimmy Cliff, Public Image Ltd, Courtney Love, Royal Blood, Interpol, The Zombies, The Coral, The Brian Jonestown Massacre and The Fall. In addition to concerts, Riverside is also a popular clubbing nightspot with a great atmosphere. Riverside is located on the site of the former Sea nightclub and is not connected to the original Riverside venue that operated from 1985-1999.
