Matt Pryor (of The Get Up Kids)

Matt Pryor (of The Get Up Kids)

30 Apr 2026 - 8 May 2026

Kansas City, Missouri native, Matt Pryor, is a household name for anyone who was attuned to the second and third waves of emo. His genre-defining band, The Get Up Kids, were among a small and legendary group that has shaped the musical landscape for years. However, after growing tired of the boundaries it so needlessly applied, the internationally recognised frontrunners eventually transcended the genre with their later albums and found themselves at home with a more indie sound. Most recently, on his latest album under his given name, Matt Pryor has presented the world with The Salton Sea, and it is abundantly clear that this is the continuation of a decades-long love affair with music and being outright obsessed with song-writing. Steadfast fans of Pryor's prolific career will also find themselves treated to a style that is more reminiscent of the works of Paul Westerberg and Red House Painters, that is of course laden with Pryor's signature style, whose DNA is deeply rooted in artists like Elvis Costello and The Afghan Whigs.
The Pale White

The Pale White

Open Mike Eagle

Open Mike Eagle

24 May 2026 - 31 May 2026

A member of California's Project Blowed collective with a whip-smart sense of humor, rapper Open Mike Eagle was born Michael Eagle II in Chicago. It was at the Southern Illinois University Carbondale that the aspiring MC became an RA, and after he met Hannibal Buress, the resident advisor and student became fast friends. Grad school took him to the West Coast, where he joined the Project Blowed collective along with the group Thirsty Fish. In 2010, he went solo on Mush Records with Unapologetic Art Rap, an album that featured college bud Buress along with left-field MCs like Busdriver and Serengeti. Rappers Will Die of Natural Causes followed a year later on the Hellfyre label; then he collaborated with producer Awkward and issued 4NML HSPTL on Fake Four in 2012. The Mello Music group released the aptly titled Dark Comedy in 2014, the same year that Eagle submitted a track to The Ron and Fez Show, which the satellite radio talk show duo soon picked up as their theme song. He stuck with Mello for 2016's Hella Personal Film Festival, an album recorded with U.K. producer Paul White. Solo effort Brick Body Kids Still Daydream followed a year later, with EP What Happens When I Try to Relax arriving in 2018.
Picture Parlour

Picture Parlour

At first the band was a duo between Katherine Parlour and Ella Risi, who met while studying philosophy and music respectively in Manchester, before meeting Michael Nash and Sian Lynch through a Facebook community page for fellow young musicians. They started out by playing at Brixton’s The Windmill, where Lou Smith got a recording of their set. The band gathered recognition after Courtney Love reposted Smiths video to her instagram story, Parlour and Risi was at a pub as their phones were blowing up with Courtney Love fans flocking to follow the band.
Blood Wizard

Blood Wizard

24 Apr 2026 - 24 Apr 2026

Velvet Echoes & Extra Terrestrial Promotions Presents Blood Wizard Plus Special Guests Blood Wizard, the ever evolving monicer of Cai Burns. Starting with a selection of meticulously crafted alt-folk and journeying to a more rock-orientated sound, Blood Wizard represents varied yet intricate song-writing, which is taking the underground scene by storm. Blood Wizard is the moniker of Cai Burns, a singer songwriter hailing from South London by way of Nottingham. He burst into the scene with his debut album ‘Western Spaghetti’ in 2021, released to a frenzy of underground acclaim through the revered indie label Moshi Moshi Records. Offering a twisted interpretation of the earthy tones and introspective musings of artists like Aldous Harding and Kurt Vile, Blood Wizard carved his own unique path. Performances at End of the Road’s main stage, Pitchfork Festival and an endorsement from Wet Leg followed, as did sold out headline shows in London and further afield. Now, with his sophomore effort ‘Grinning William’, Blood wizard unveils a more intricate and diverse body of work. Without compromising his distinctive sound, this second album ventures into sonic realms akin to the captivating discographies of artists like Alex G. Produced by Theo Verney (of Lime Garden, English Teacher, and Egyptian Blue), the 2024 offering signifies a monumental leap forward for the former Kagoule frontman. Exceptional songwriting and a kaleidoscope of moods are united by Blood Wizard’s wry vocals and poetic lyrics that have become his signature. Stepping beyond the enigmatic allure of his debut, ‘Grinning William’ sees Blood Wizard emerge once more from the woody undergrowth with a 10-tracker of even greater originality: another seminal record for those in the know. Twat Union

Twat Union

16 Apr 2026 - 25 Apr 2026

Theatrical-feminist-chaos-punk-pop 6 piece Twat Union are bringing their wild energy on tour to celebrate the release of their 2nd EP - ‘Don’t blame The Peach’ Described by the Guardian as ‘One To Watch’, the Twats don’t shy away from topics including thigh chafe, urinary tract infections and people assuming you don’t know how to tune a guitar because you’re a woman. Following in the footsteps of riot grrrl punks before them, their music is loud, heavy and catchy - you’ll be singing along by the second chorus or your money back (...they probably won’t give you your money back). Their debut EP dropped in April 2025 to acclaim from Louder Than War, LOUD WOMEN and The Guardian - who featured them again this year for their debut Glastonbury performance. Part punk gig, part comedy show, expect a chaos punk experience unlike any other and a night you’ll never forget. There will be shouting, there will be line dancing and there will be props...
Bristol Song Circle: Luke Sital-singh, Blair Dunlop, Kitty Macfarlane, Anwen
Bristol Song Circle Presents One stage, three songwriters: an evening of songs and stories... On 23 April, Bristol Songwriting Circle arrives at Rough Trade Bristol. In a seated and cosy setting, songs will be stripped-back and shared, with the stories of how they were written woven in between. It is the sound of songwriters talking shop, swapping ideas, and keeping the troubadour spirit alive. Luke Sital-Singh brings his finely wrought, emotionally direct songwriting to the room. Known for his intimate records, international tours, and songs that have travelled far beyond the stage through major television placements, seeing Luke perform in such an informal space will be a truly rare treat. The award-winning singer-songwriter Blair Dunlop will be our host for the night, guiding the conversation with his famous blend of warmth and wit. A true roaming troubadour, his career spans five acclaimed albums and stages across the world, always grounded in story and craft. Somerset songwriter Kitty Macfarlane makes a welcome comeback to live performance, sharing songs shaped by landscape, listening, and the natural world. We’ve been waiting for her return to the scene for quite some time, and are honoured she’s chosen our night to do so. We will also be welcoming the folk and jazz-inflected musical offerings of Anwen, a rising songwriter from BIMM Bristol, before all four artists join together to end the evening with a one-off collaboration. Think of it as wandering into a private jam session, pulling up a chair, and staying a whole lot longer than planned. Bristol Song Circle 14+ (Under 16s with Adult)
PleasureInc.

PleasureInc.

22 May 2026 - 30 May 2026

PleasureInc. is the genre-fluid musical brainchild of brothers Jesse and Louis Baker. Jaded with playing in indie bands, the Norwich based duo began formulating a new type of project in early 2021, creating music and visual content that reflected their love for hip hop, indie, pop, fashion, film and the 90s. Through aliases Kenny Pleasures and Jonny Silver, the brothers project a playful perspective in their music, pulling sounds and attitudes from the likes of Blur, Beastie Boys, easy life and Tyler, The Creator. PleasureInc. permeate personality like good cheese permeates stink. You simply cant help but take notice. It didn't take long for fans across the UK to do just that. Harnessing the mystery of their brand, the brothers built a fast online and live following, selling out venues across the country, including a packed House of Vans performance alongside Joey Valence & Brae in November 2022. The duo have continued to build on this in 2023 with a UK tour and a slew of single releases garnering 100,000+ Spotify streams. With their debut EP For the Fun of It set for release in summer, a focus on modern production techniques brings the duo closer to the hip-hop realm than previous releases: the title track channels the punky wit of Beastie Boys, whilst tracks like Joanie Loves Chachiand What's My Namepoint towards Blood Orange and Frank Ocean as the duo embrace a softer, introspective side.
Grack Mack & The Pack

Grack Mack & The Pack

16 May 2026 - 16 May 2026

Side-splittingly-relatable, food-for-thought quartet “Grack Mack and the Pack'' have served as a widely appreciated emotional lay-by since their 2022, Bristol-based formation into Indie-Folk/Pop. As if “Phoebe Bridgers” delivered “The Beatles” the emphatic pulse of “Big Thief” in the shape of a terrarium and in doing so dotted the lines between summer and spring with a googly-eyed daisy chain and hazy, clean glass. The pack take their different influences with a stride of passion to take what former solo frontwoman ‘Grace Mackenzie’ calls ‘melodies of her thoughts’ and turn them into memories with a runtime and sing-a-long hooks calling across the southwest, pulling them along, show by show; where they have waited. Now, the warm crenulated gelling of nostalgia has met the Bristol masses, enthralled in neo-boho looseness like the last puzzle piece soaked in a good bottle of red, carbonated and corked to build the pressure before everything comes, explosively, together. Releasing their debut single ‘Mundane Sundays’ earlier this year the band are on track to release their sophomore single ‘Dungarees’ released this spring and partnered this with a sold out show cementing their status for the next emerging band in Bristol. Gitkin

Gitkin

26 May 2026 - 28 May 2026

Gitkin’s music exists somewhere between primal rootsy memory and distant exotic yearning — A dusty bordertown where the familiar blends imperceptibly into the enchantingly foreign. After a long and fruitful run as a bandleader with relentlessly touring party-rockers Pimps Of Joytime and a Grammy-nominated country blues collaboration with Cedric Burnside, multi-instrumentalist Brian J set out to “explore tonalities I’d never messed with,” as he puts it. Reviews of Gitkin’s first two LP’s grappled with descriptors, tagging it vaguely as “cinematic” and comparing it favourably with Khruangbin. True, the music is largely wordless, emotionally evocative, and guitar driven. But it possesses an alluring alchemy all its own. Gitkin’s first release, 2018’s well-received Five Star Motel, amply demonstrated his ease with earthy funk and comfortably-cut rhythm. On his follow up album, Safe Passage, the itinerant guitar slinger broadened his already rich palette with melodies informed by Greek and Middle Eastern modalities, Peruvian Chicha and Tuareg Saharan guitar styles. No gimmick, this juxtaposition of gut-bucket blues and funk low-end with unexpectedly twisting lead phrases highlights the intense flavours found in each savoury ingredient. This is an 18+ event .

Special guests on the evening are Manchester based alt-rockers Cruush, making a swift name for themselves with their fuzzed out and grungy soundscapes. Levitation Room East Los Angeles quartet Levitation Room’s floaty, cosmic songs are always a trip. Since forming nearly a decade ago, they’ve self-produced dizzying, otherworldly music that’s connected with fellow travelers in the hallucinogenic world of outré rock music. Led by singer and guitarist Julian Porte along with founding members Gabriel Fernandez (lead guitar) and Johnathan Martin (percussion), the band has enchanted live audiences at Desert Daze and on tour with like-minded groups Post Animal and Psychedelic Porn Crumpets. The band’s vivid sound has found them placed on popular playlists like Modern Psychedelia and the legendary superproducer’s Danger Mouse Jukebox. Their 2015 debut, “Friends,” has surpassed 18 million streams. Joined by new member Kevin Perez (bass) in 2021, Levitation Room have continued to expand their colorful, unearthly sound, a process that has culminated with the vibrant new album Strange Weather. Collaborating with former Brian Jonestown Massacre keyboardist Rob Campanella, Jason Kick (Mild High Club), and Black Crowes’ Joel Robinow, Levitation Room take a new step in their story and vision with Strange Weather. The record’s lyrical narratives-about love in the park, life in the city, and the fact that “The world today is such an illusion”-are appropriately steeped in ’60s sonics and a dreamy, lo-fi atmosphere. It’s spacey, celestial guitar music for escaping into, and “it feels just like heaven.” Cruush The band comprise Amber Warren (lead vocals/guitar), Arthur Boyd (guitar), Fotis Kalantzis (drums), and Bruno Evans (bass). Broadcasters and journalists alike are enchanted, with Jack Saunders (BBC Radio 1), Steve Lamacq (BBC 6), Emily Pilbeam (BBC 6), John Kennedy (Radio X), The Independent, NYLON, NME, Brooklyn Vegan, DORK, DIY, So Young, The Line of Best Fit, Clash, Rough Trade and Consequences of Sound lining up to call themselves fans. Likewise, their peers are equally captivated, earning the outfit tours and shows with BDRMM, Pale Blue Eyes, NewDad, GIFT, BASHT and Girl Scout. The pervasive gloaming of Manchester’s suburbs is present in cruush’s sonic DNA. Yet there’s more to their sound, an evolutionary gear shift that has ushered in a new era of tightly wound grunge-pop ragers. To enact the change, they enlisted the help of producer Owen Turner at Sickroom Studios in Norfolk (whose most recent credits include the last two Brownhorse records). Cruush’s sound is potent and tender, and sincere to the point of snot-crying. Or as the band themselves put it, “gross, awkward but pretty fucking rockin’!” Its music forged in the drudgery of service jobs and rainy Manchester nights, buried in cosy blankets of indie-rock fuzz, yet somehow sprouting through the rusty layers of sheet metal that should prevent it from blooming. Collectively, they have a kind of sonic survival instinct. “Over the last 12 months, we’ve had a lot of letdowns. We felt it was a pretty dull year with creative setbacks. However, it made us realise how much we can depend on each other. That’s how a band should be.” And quite honestly, that is how a band should be. Input promoter here 14+ (Under 16s with Adult)

Oh yeah, Divine Schism welcome My New Band Believe to Oxford for a workshop show. The moniker serves as an open invitation, a subtle nod to listeners willing to meet the music on its own terms, to reap the rewards of taking a flying leap into the dark. Picton leads his band so that each track forms, scatters and re-groups, the uplift of one song crashing head-long into the rush of another. Inspired by Bert Jansch's hypnotic, hard-driving guitar, Judee Sill's panoramic pop, and the terrifying possibility of dance music, My New Band Believe is both all-encompassing and constantly in flux.
