Cassandra Jenkins is a New York City-based artist whose musical vision is broad, idiosyncratic and ever-changing. Eloquent storytelling with beautiful sonic intricacies, Cassandra Jenkins is responsible for making some of the most inviting music in recent decades.

To an artist without the creative energy and laser-focused determination of Elles Bailey, it could all have been very different. But when you're the hardest-working woman in blues, rock and roots music, not even the tumultuous world events of the past two years were going to stop you from writing several new chapters in a remarkable story.

Determinedly doing things her own way and standing up for what she believes in has long been ingrained in the psyche of trailblazing South African musician Moonchild Sanelly, whose drive to succeed has been fuelled by personal pain and trauma. Growing up in Port Elizabeth with a hip-hop producer brother and a mum who would put her onstage from a young age to compete in dance competitions, Sanelisiwe Twishas music-filled childhood was full of creativity. Whether it was self-choreographing dance routines to Spice Girls tracks, teaching herself to play the piano, singing at church with her family, or starting to write poetry, expression and being artistically free was always encouraged.

Deary comprises of London based musicians Ben & Dottie, creating wistful dream pop. In the midst of the global pandemic, the duo struck up a partnership, swapping ideas over social media.

Following their nationwide desecrations across 2024, London/Hastings crossover kings Inhuman Nature return to raid the UK. Roaming the endless highways, these road warriors have spent the last 5 years sharpening their steel and becoming a formidable live force in the UK and Europe. Contemporary virtuoso duo AvaWaves are rooted in cinematic narratives, evoking emotional journeys of the heart and mind. Never conforming to expectations and yet instantly accessible, the music composed by these two creative visionaries is a sonorous consequence of two opposing forces determined to carve their identities into each other's lives. Created by Gordon Chapman-Fox, the Warrington-Runcorn New Town Development Plan is a musical project that explores this history and its reverberations today. Looking backward and forward, Chapman-Fox explores the artistic traces of this modernist architecture's lingering hauntology.

From London via Portsmouth, five-piece Hotel Lux are influenced less by bands and more by the world around them, and the film works of Shane Meadows. Hotel Lux design a landscape of council flats, riots, Job Centre Plus and pints of Guinness, whilst their music lends itself to social commentary and picking holes in those who deserve it.

Basia Bulat has become one of Canada's most conspicuous talents. Since releasing her debut in 2007, Bulat has shared a stage with artists including Arcade Fire, The National, Nick Cave, Daniel Lanois, St Vincent, Sufjan Stevens, Beirut, Destroyer, Tune-Yards, The Tallest Man On Earth, and Andrew Bird. She often appears solo in gigantic halls, winning over crowds with an autoharp or charango, stomping feet, two mighty lungs. But her massive talent has also been recognized at scale: her songs have been adapted for major performances with symphony orchestras, and she's been tapped for prestigious tributes to Leonard Cohen and The Band.

Blue Bendy have struck a balance between being obviously skilled musicians, writing complex, layered, overlapping and ambitious compositions, while also utilising space, breadth, and restraint. Their music is bursting with dynamism, exploring push-pull dynamics that results in something ceaselessly unpredictable. It results in a sound that is rare for a new band: as experimental as it is confident and assured, as tender as it is visceral, as quiet as it is loud, as bloody as it is teary.

Under the name Pachyman, Puerto Rican singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Pachy García crafts rugged, old-school dub, dancehall, and roots reggae in the tradition of pioneers like Scientist and Lee "Scratch" Perry. Based in Los Angeles, Pachyman issued a pair of independent records in 2019 and 2020 before signing with ATO Records, which released The Return of Pachyman the following year. Growing up in Puerto Rico, García's early musical interests revolved around hardcore punk but as his tastes evolved he became fascinated with the experimental sounds of dub and roots reggae innovators like Scientist, Augustus Pablo, and King Tubby. After relocating to Los Angeles, he became heavily involved in the city's Dub Club scene and began building an arsenal of vintage instruments and equipment. While serving as the drummer and singer for L.A. synth-punk outfit Prettiest Eyes, García also began recording his own dub experiments, writing songs that reflected his mashup of retro tastes and playing all the instruments himself. His first collection as Pachyman, In Dub, appeared in 2019 via indie imprint Permanent Records. A second album, recorded in a similar fashion, arrived a year later, this time on the small vinyl label Mock Records. Titled At 333 House, a reference to the name of his home studio, it saw Pachyman venturing further into roots reggae territory. With his audience growing, ATO Records offered García a contract and released his third Pachyman album, The Return of Pachyman, in 2021. + Supports TBA

They say that good things come to those who wait. A little over two years after their launch, you could say that Cardinal Black are testament to the power of patience, thought and persistence. A debut iTunes #1 single and E.P.; a first gig to a hometown capacity crowd at Cardiff Castle; back-to-back sold out Academy tours with Myles Kennedy, then The Struts; a standing ovation at a Sold Out Royal Albert Hall supporting Peter Frampton; a live set recording in the Beatles’ legendary Studio Two at Abbey Road in London and a debut album that, within 24 hours of its release, had toppled both Taylor Swift and the Beatles from the top of Amazon UK’s album chart. An eventful first 2 years for any band. It takes years, so the saying goes, to become an overnight success... Rewind to 2010 and the Welsh-born trio of Tom Hollister, Chris Buck and Adam Roberts were riding a wave of hype, hotly-tipped by some of the biggest names in rock - most notably Steve Winwood who invited the band to record at his storied Wincraft Studios. A triumphant live set at Sonisphere was followed by a flight across the Atlantic to begin work on their first record, with veteran manager Alan Niven (Guns N’ Roses) at the helm. The lure of the U.S. proved irresistible to the nascent trio but, as is often the case, expectation rarely mirrors reality and the band struggled to adapt to the new country, culminating in singer Tom Hollister unexpectedly calling time on the band before returning to the U.K. “We tried to do the acrimonious split; creative differences and all that. We then quickly realised we were fairly reliant on one another,” says Buck. In the decade that followed, the lifelong friends cut their own individual paths whilst remaining close. Most notable has been the well-earned rise of guitarist Chris Buck, named in 2019 as ‘Best New Guitarist in the World’, who has forged a reputation as one of the most inventive and recognisable guitar players in music; winning plaudits from peers and the industry’s most iconic players alike. Drummer Adam Roberts found work as a first-call session player, whilst vocalist Tom Hollister moved into tour management - the three maintaining their musical connection by sporadically meeting up to perform together. It was just a matter of time then, before they were ready to make new music again. The writing and recording of new material began in 2020, under the name Cardinal Black, bolstered by the arrival of bassist Sam Williams. Fast forward to 2023 and the band embarked on an extensive European headline tour, culminating in an Americana Music Awards (UK) nomination for Artist of the Year. They may have taken the scenic route but Cardinal Black are finally here, and they've got plenty of stories to tell...

Miki Berenyi Trio are Miki Berenyi on vocals/guitar (Lush), Kevin ‘Moose’ McKillop on guitar (Moose) and Oliver Cherer (Gilroy Mere, Aircooled). The three musicians first worked together during Piroshka’s 2021 tour. Miki and Kevin being founder members, Oliver coming in on bass to replace Mick Conroy (Modern English) who had moved to the US. When the global pandemic made touring impossible, Miki spent the lockdown months writing her memoir, Fingers Crossed, released in 2022 to widespread acclaim. To provide some musical accompaniment for the string of book events and signings, Miki Berenyi Trio was formed.

Skinny Lister are not your average, modern day, gentrified English folk group. Fronted by Dan Heptinstall and Lorna Thomas; a vocalist with a lusty cackle and flirtatious presence, the London based five-piece hail from across England.

Jake Vaadeland is a self-taught multi-instrumentalist and songwriter from Saskatchewan, Canada. His traditional sound and unique style blends bluegrass and 50s rockabilly, with Jake also specializing on guitar and banjo in addition to his impressive vocals. Jake strives to write and play with a focus on storytelling, and messages that he hopes his audience can relate to, all packaged in foot stomping, high energy performances with The Sturgeon River Boys. In 2023, he performed at JunoFest, CCMA Week, travelled to Nashville to showcase at AmericanaFest, and opened for artists like Dean Brody and Charley Crockett. He recently earned a Western Canadian Music Award nomination for ‘Roots Artist of the Year’ and won a Saskatchewan Country Music Award for ‘Alternative Country Album of the Year’.

BC Camplight is an England-based American songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. His 2005 album Hide, Run Away was released by One Little Indian and featured Cynthia G. Mason on vocals. Camplight's follow-up, Blink of a Nihilist, was released in 2007, and his third album came out in January 2015 on Bella Union.

At once confrontational and melodic, Brooklyn's the Wants make music informed by Anglophilic post-punk, the nonstop rhythms of industrial and techno, and Rust Belt grit. There are some places and moments that tie people together forever, whether it be a place, a song or something you can't quite define through words. The origins of Orions Belte stemmed from one of those mystical moments in time, which spawned a lasting creative connection. The first time all three members Øyvind, Chris and Kim met up to work on ideas they ended up recording their entire first album over a weekend together. Orions Belte uses the band as a platform to explore different aspects of what an instrumental band can be resulting in everything from separate solo albums, live recordings from digital streams in the Norwegian nature, EP’s containing eccentric covers to studio albums that create soundscapes that pull you in and draw out emotions in ways that only they know how. Their strong connection inspires them to write music that feels natural and authentic, focusing on strong melodies and grooves resonating with their worldwide fanbase.

Blowout Presents \- Chase Petra - Emo tinged indie trio Chase Petra make a long awaited return to Bristol in support of their latest album 'Lullabies for Dogs', the much anticipated follow up to 2018's 'Liminal'. The band's music has always been about growth: growing up, growing out, growing tired of what others expect of you. On their sophomore album, the trio once again elevates the existential questions that pepper life's long, unpredictable journey. And it’s their sense of figuring things out in real time that makes Chase Petra so relatable, as the band’s “quarter-life-crisis pop” elevates deep introspection to navigate the messiness and confusion that comes with modern life.
