The List

Royal Albert Hall

Venues don't come much more iconic than the Royal Albert Hall, which since its opening in 1871 has been the most prestigious concert hall in Britain. For a long time, its cavernous acoustic prompted the joke that it was the only place where a British composer could be sure of hearing his work twice; in 1969 the echo was tamed when the famous 'flying saucers' were hung from the auditorium ceiling. The Hall gives top-flight concerts in the main auditorium, and has seen numerous UK premieres of famous works; Wagner, Elgar and Verdi conducted their own premieres here. In the classical world it's most famous for being the original home of the Proms, which were first held here in 1895, but it's also hosted famous events in rock history -- Frank Zappa got his keyboard player to play 'Louie Louie' on the Albert Hall pipe organ -- and its boards have been trodden by stars from Sinatra, the Beatles and Hendrix to Jay Z, Adele and One Direction. Two of the six restaurants (Café Consort and Elgar Room) also host intimate classical and jazz recitals, and of the 14 bars, the Cloudy Bay Wine Bar offers a selection of seafoods as well as New Zealand wine. With the exception of the Café Bar, which is open to visitors without tickets, all bars and restaurants are only open to ticketholders. The nearest Tube stations are South Kensington (District, Circle and Piccadilly) and High Street Kensington (District and Circle), each about 10 minutes' walk away. The Hall is served by six bus routes: 9, 10, 52 and 452 (Kensington Gore), 70 (Queen's Gate) and 360 (Prince Consort Road). London Victoria is the nearest railway station. Parking is available at Imperial College London, with entrances on Exhibition Road and, in the evenings only, Prince Consort Road.

Just as likely to cover a song by Radiohead as Thelonious Monk, Cullum broke into the mainstream with 2002's Pointless Nostalgic and 2003's Twentysomething, the latter of which earned him a Grammy nomination for Best Jazz Vocal Album. Compared early on to Harry Connick, Jr. and Norah Jones, Cullum has developed into a distinctive singer/songwriter, able to move from earnest ballads to pop songs of sardonic wit. He has continued to grow stylistically, exploring electronica on 2005's Catching Tales and original soft rock on 2010's The Pursuit and 2019's Taller. Still, he often returns to his jazz roots, as on the 2014 orchestral standards album Interlude.

Late Night Jazz: Gray By Silver

15 Nov 2025 - 15 Nov 2025

The 2024 Best Jazz Album winner at the Seoul Music Awards, Gray by Silver join this year's K-Music Festival with their upcoming third album, Time of Tree, blending the emotional depth of traditional Korean music with the expressive language of contemporary jazz and classical. Formed in 2016, Gray by Silver are led by pianist-composer HanBin Lee, joined by the ethereal vocals of HanYul Lee, the evocative daegeum (bamboo flute) of Taehyun Kim, and the dynamic percussion of Yedarm Pak. In an ever-accelerating musical landscape, Gray by Silver offer a compelling voice - one that embraces improvisation, stillness, and poetic reflection. Their presence on this stage reflects a different facet of Korea’s contemporary soundscape today. The quartet’s recent international appearances include Lincoln Center in New York, Colours of Ostrava in the Czech Republic, and Jodhpur RIFF in India, alongside festival invitations in Denmark, Japan, and China. Their 2024 album Eternal Gray received the Best Jazz Album award at the Seoul Music Awards. This show is presented in collaboration with the K-Music Festival. Tara Lily

Tara Lily

18 Nov 2025 - 18 Nov 2025

South London-born British-Bengali artist Tara Lily crafts a sound that’s uniquely her own - blending jazz, electronica, alt-R&B, and Indian classical influences into genre-defying music rooted in her multicultural upbringing. Her singular style and deep musical insight have earned praise from Virgil Abloh, Gilles Peterson, Iggy Pop, Jamie Cullum, and led to her becoming the first British artist signed to Motown Records UK. Her debut album Speak In The Dark explores the unspoken - secrets, desires, and ancestral ties - set against lush, experimental backdrops shaped by the emotional highs and lows of living with ADHD. Fearless, raw, and impossible to box in, Tara Lily is a rising force in contemporary music. Fusing jazz, electronica, R&B and South Asian sounds, this will be a live playback of Tara’s debut album Speak in the Dark, a record about speaking out, things we don’t say, secrets we keep and fascinations. The sonic landscape will be a spiritual journey from east to west, drawing on ancient and modern sounds in relatable song form, and incorporating improvisation. Presented by Royal Albert Hall All customers aged 14 years or below must be accompanied by an adult aged 18 years or over

Clara Mann

Clara Mann

25 Sept 2025 - 9 Oct 2025

Singer-songwriter Clara Mann’s evocative debut album Rift navigates the fractured environment of the in-between—those liminal spaces exposed between light and dark, growth and remorse, loss and reclamation. It is a record that makes a strong case for hope, those luminescent silver linings in the dark. Mann’s music reflects the people and places that have shaped and held her—physically, emotionally, and creatively.
