Drop-in Workshop - Queer Alchemy Collage
Free drop-in workshop at the Physicians’ Gallery. Join us for the first of our LGBTQ+ drop-in art workshops. In this workshop we will be using collage and mixed-media as a form of alchemy. We will take inspiration from Rebis, a central symbolic figure in alchemy, who can be seen on the wall of our new exhibition space. Depicted with two heads, one ‘male’ and the other ‘female’, Rebis symbolises the union of masculine and feminine within one identity. Our collages will bring together lots of individually chosen elements to represent our identities. Further information will be given, and all materials provided. This workshop is open to LGBTQ+ people and allies of all ages. This workshop will be led by local queer artist Rachel Howarth and RCPE Heritage Engagement Co-ordinator Rachel Forrest. Free but booking is essential Drop-in workshop running from 11am to 2pm Physicians’ Gallery open from 10am to 4:30pm This event is funded by the Douglas Guthrie Fund.
