Located in the heart of the Southbank Centre, this Grade I listed hall opened in 1951, and is regarded as one of the leading performance venues in the city, nay, the country. The impressive auditorium isn't the only feature of this venue. There's also The Clore Ballroom, The Poetry Library, Spirit Level and more, as well as an on-site restaurant with contemporary food and cocktails.

Inspired by Earth, Wind & Fire, Stevie Wonder, Kool & the Gang, Marvin Gaye and UK bands such as Gonzalez & FBI, Incognito released their debut album Jazz Funk in 1981. Ten years later Incognitowere signed to Gilles Peterson’s Talkin’ Loud label and became the biggest act in the label’s history with charts hits such as Always There feat. Jocelyn Brown, Still a friend of mine, Don’t you worry ‘bout a thing & Everyday. Since leaving the label in 2002, Incognito have released a slew of incredible albums and have collaborated with Chaka Khan, Mario Biondi & Ed Motta.

With sardonic wit and incisive social critiques, David Sedaris has become one of America’s pre-eminent humour writers. The great skill with which he slices through cultural euphemisms and political correctness proves that Sedaris is a master of satire and one of the most observant writers addressing the human condition today. David Sedaris is the author of Barrel Fever and Holidays on Ice, as well as collections of personal essays, Naked, Me Talk Pretty One Day, Dress Your Family In Corduroy and Denim, When You Are Engulfed in Flames, and his most recent book, Let’s Explore Diabetes with Owls, each of which became an immediate bestseller. The audio version of Let’s Explore Diabetes with Owls is a 56th Annual Grammy Awards Nominee for Best Spoken Word Album. He is the author of the NYT-bestselling collection of fables entitled Squirrel Seeks Chipmunk: A Modest Bestiary (with illustrations by Ian Falconer). He was also the editor of Children Playing Before a Statue of Hercules: An Anthology of Outstanding Stories. Sedaris’ pieces appear regularly in The New Yorker and have twice been included in The Best American Essays. There are a total of seven million copies of his books in print and they have been translated into 25 languages. He and his sister, Amy Sedaris, have collaborated under the name ‘The Talent Family’ and have written half-a-dozen plays which have been produced at La Mama, Lincoln Centre, and The Drama Department in New York City. These plays include Stump the Host, Stitches, One Woman Shoe, which received an Obie Award, Incident at Cobbler’s Knob and The Book of Liz, which was published in book form by Dramatists Play Service. David Sedaris’s original radio pieces can often be heard on the public radio show This American Life. David Sedaris has been nominated for three Grammy Awards for Best Spoken Word and Best Comedy Album.
The Earth Wind and Fire Experience by Al McKay
The legendary and defining funk, soul & disco band Earth, Wind & Fire will be celebrated live on stage in a show created by their iconic guitarist Al McKay. The Earth, Wind & Fire Experience reincarnates the spirit of the original band, powerfully delivering hit after hit of the supergroup’s iconic songs with their authentic feel. Audiences will be treated to a show packed with Earth, Wind & Fire’s most iconic hits including After The Love Has Gone, Let’s Groove, Can’t Let Go, September, and more. The Earth, Wind & Fire Experience began in the 1990s following Grammy Award-winning Al McKay’s departure from the original Earth, Wind & Fire in the 1980s, having been a member through their most successful years during nearly the entirety of the 1970s and shaping their energetic sound with his renowned guitar playing. Over the years, in different incarnations – featuring a who’s who of the most influential funk & soul musicians of their time curated by McKay – the Experience has toured around the world to sold out audiences. The touring group currently consists of an all-star line-up, including the legendary vocalists Tim Owens, DeVere Duckett, Claude Woods as well as former Earth, Wind & Fire member Gregory Moore. Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse Live In Concert
A concert tour for Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse will be heading to the UK later this year. Following the success of the award-winning 2018 film, a live concert experience featuring animations of the film being displayed on a screen alongside a live orchestra, turntables and percussion to perform the movie soundtrack.
Ben Folds: The Paper Airplane Request Tour
Emmy-nominated singer-songwriter Ben Folds, celebrated for his wide-ranging, genre-bending catalogue, returns! He currently tours as a pop artist, while also performing for over two decades with some of the world’s greatest symphony orchestras. Folds, who served for eight years as the first ever Artistic Advisor to the National Symphony Orchestra (NSO) at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC, stepped down from his post when Donald Trump announced his takeover of the Center. Just days before the US presidential election, Folds recorded two sold out performances with the NSO which he released as a live album this summer which debuted at the top of the Billboard classical and classical crossover charts. A New York Times Best Selling author, Ben also creates new music for film, tv and theatre, including original songs for an ongoing series of animated Peanuts specials on Apple TV. Ben Fold's Paper Airplane Request Tour is a unique concert format during which the audience is invited to write their favourite Folds song requests on paper, fold them into airplanes, and launch them toward the stage. The concert includes two halves, separated by a short intermission. In the first half, Folds will perform a standard setlist. In the second half, he’ll perform songs requested via paper airplanes launched onto the stage. Those attending are encouraged to bring their pre-made paper airplanes to the show, or they are welcome to use paper and pens made available at the merchandise table to make their own paper airplanes on site.

The spectacle marks the 50th anniversary of Tubular Bells, the debut studio album by English multi-instrumentalist, composer and songwriter Mike Oldfield. Oldfield, who was just 17 years old when he started composing the music, recorded and played almost all of the instruments on the album. Conceived in 1971 and finally released in 1973, it gained worldwide acclaim when the opening theme was used for the soundtrack of the horror film The Exorcist. Tubular Bells is a progressive journey through classical, jazz, folk, prog rock and electronica. Ten performers from Circa Contemporary Circus present Oldfield’s work in its physical form, their heart-stopping acrobatics intricately woven together to reflect the music. The performance is directed by Yaron Lifschitz. The musical director, Robin Smith, has collaborated with Mike Oldfield over three decades including memorable performances of Tubular Bells at Edinburgh Castle in 1992 and at the London 2012 Olympics Opening Ceremony.
