Breathe well. Sing well. Live well. Edinburgh Workshop for Women
Join award-winning opera singer and voice teacher, Louise Macdonald, on International Women's Day, for the first of a series of Breathe well. Sing well. Live well. Singing Workshops for Women. Breathwork meets singing for a life-affirming experience! Have you always wanted to sing and would like to build your courage to sing with confidence? Do you have experience already as a singer and would like to gain new tools to keep your voice in good health throughout your life? You'll be part of a safe, nurturing and fun community of like-minded women from singer-songwriters and choral singers to those who simply wish to sing at home. At each workshop there will be a new theme relating to vocal wellbeing and revision of breathing. We start with: - Gentle movement to ease the muscles and release tension - A singing game or round - Vocal exercises and breathing to develop your technique - Singing a song in harmony, putting into practice what you have learned. All levels of experience and ages (over-18) welcome! Inclusive, accessible venue. We look forward to welcoming you!
Introduction to Transmission Meditation
Do you want to help the world and also build a stronger connection with your own spiritual nature? Transmission Meditation is a simple group meditation providing both a dynamic service to the world and powerful personal spiritual development. Transmission Meditation is a group service activity, in conscious co-operation with the Masters of Wisdom, for the creation of a pool of higher energy for the benefit of humanity and the planet. This is the energy that is bringing about the transformation of our world along more peaceful, just and harmonious lines. It is a combination of two yogas: Karma Yoga (yoga of service) and Laya Yoga (yoga of energies or chakras). It is highly scientific, safe, non-denominational and extremely potent. It will not interfere with, but will actually enhance any other spiritual practice and/or service activity in which you may be engaged. As a result of Transmission Meditation, many people find they can experience and demonstrate love more easily. Others report that their mind is more stimulated and creative. Some people receive healing, spontaneously, during the transmissions. Introduced into the world in 1974 by artist and author Benjamin Creme, there are now hundreds of Transmission Meditation groups active in many countries around the world. Each workshop reveals the aims, technique, and results of Transmission Meditation and participants will also take part in a group meditation session. The event is freely organised by volunteers with the Edinburgh Transmission Meditation Group. Admission Free. Beginners welcome. No previous experience required.
Full Moon with Transmission Meditation
The time of the full moon is very important for the reception and distribution of spiritual energy, especially with Transmission Meditation. The time of the full moon is very important for the reception and distribution of spiritual energy and this is especially the case with Transmission Meditation. Full Moon transmissions will gradually gain more significance in the life of humanity and become of major importance as we enter more fully into the New Age of Aquarius. They will be recognized as important festivals and celebrated with increased potency in the near future. Many transmission meditation groups around the world already celebrate the festivals with group meditations held at the time of the full moon. This is a service activity that helps to create a more potent global network of light for both humanity and the planet, and the groups are linked together by an aspiration to serve the needs of the world. Do join us for a powerful group meditation and work of planetary service and help with the transmission of spiritual energies at the time of the full moon! (additional information on the relevance of each full moon festival will be provided) This event is freely organised by volunteers with the Edinburgh Transmission Meditation Group.
