The List

Scala

Designed by H Courtney Constantine the Kings Cross Cinema first opened its doors in 1920. Renamed Scala in 1981 it soon became the home of London's coolest cult cinema club, unfortunately after losing a court case over screening Stanley Kubrick's A Clockwork Orange (which was still banned at the time) the cinema was forced to close in 1993. After a complete refurbishment it reopened in 1999 as a club and gig space in the heart of London. Boasting three bars, two dancefloors and a stage with regular club nights and an impressive line-up of live music. Everyone from Coldplay and Foo Fighters to Robbie Williams and Dido have since graced the stage at Scala. Please note all shows at Scala are 18+ unless otherwise stated. Scala is three minutes walk from Kings Cross St Pancreas train station; bus numbers 30, 73, 214, 10, 17, 45, 46, 63, 91 and 259 all stop near the venue.

Declan J Donovan

Declan J Donovan

8 Jun 2026 - 12 Jun 2026

Two years ago, Declan J Donovan uploaded a home-recorded demo of a track called Fallen So Young to his SoundCloud. At the time, he was blissfully unaware that this would be the initial springboard for his fledgling music career. Written originally to be the best man speech at his Brother’s wedding, Declan wanted to give the song a life outside the confines of the wedding day. To his surprise, the song began to click with a few more people than he’d originally envisaged. With a string of gorgeous soulful singles, the singer/songwriter is clearly heading in the right direction.

The show will immerse audiences in the sound, spirit, and scale of that historic weekend, combining authentic live performance, cinematic visuals, and anthemic emotion that only Oasis can deliver. Boy Kill Boy

Boy Kill Boy

29 Oct 2026 - 29 Oct 2026

Boy Kill Boy formed in 2004 and from there things moved pretty quickly. They were the first band ever to play at Wireless Festival, played several dates on the NME New Bands tour, opened the Radio 1 stage at the Reading and Leeds festival, and toured with Hard-Fi. All of that and a couple of singles on Fierce Panda later, the band signed to Vertigo Records (Universal Music). It was a bit of a rollercoaster, with a top thirty single (Back Again), a top twenty single (Suzie), tours with Echo & The Bunnymen and The Charlatans in the US, another NME New Bands tour (as headliners this time), a session with Jo Whiley for the Radio 1 Live Lounge, another appearance at Reading and Leeds festival and even an appearance on Top of The Pops. The First album, CIVILIAN, recorded in Sawmills with legendary producer John Cornfield was released in May 2006, reaching number 16 in the UK charts. Album two was recorded in LA with Dave Sardy (Oasis, LCD Soundsystem, and so many more bands). The band supported the release by touring extensively around the UK, with festival appearances at both V and Camden Crawl, gigged with The Kooks and The Enemy, and performed live on Dermot O'Leary's Radio 2 show. It was a bit of a whirlwind and the band called it a day in 2008. So they returned for 2 intimate shows in 2016 to say goodbye, or so they thought... But now twenty years after the release of CIVILIAN, Boy Kill Boy will be coming Back (Again) to celebrate the album together once again. The band will play a headline show at Scala in Kings Cross on October 29th 2026. Presented by Crosstown Concerts. This is a 16+ event

Pig Destroyer

Pig Destroyer

13 Nov 2026 - 13 Nov 2026

Virginia extreme sound nihilists PIG DESTROYER deliver savage grindcore that is both intentionally confrontational and thoroughly pummeling. PIG DESTROYER formed in 1997, when vocalist J.R. Hayes and AGORAPHOBIC NOSEBLEED guitarist Scott Hull decided to unite in their efforts to create utterly destructive grindcore. The trio began rehearsing and immediately found that their common musical interests produced intelligent and incendiary music. This lineup meshed well and recorded their self-titled demo, which met to a rousing response. PIG DESTROYER was growing in name and sound, a CD entitled 'Explosions in Ward 6' was released. Great reaction to the 'Explosions in Ward 6' album established PIG DESTROYER as one of the best new grind acts to emerge worldwide in the last decade. Relapse signed the band and in 2001 PIG DESTROYER took listeners on a rampaging journey through an unsettling, psychotic world with their album, 'Prowler In The Yard.' Melding an insane musical attack with similarly jarring lyrical prose and an unmatched propensity to incite, 'Prowler In The Yard' hit listeners like a coal-black monolith of nihilism. The record stunned music fans, garnering lavishing praise, and becoming one of the more talked about extreme music releases in recent history. Headlining performances at the 2002 New England Metal and Hardcore Festival and 2002 Relapse Records CMJ Showcase, alongside a hi-profile set at the Relapse Records Contamination Festival in Philadelphia, cemented PIG DESTROYER place among the new goliaths of heavy music. PIG DESTROYER then continued work on the follow-up to 'Prowler In The Yard.' In what would turn out to be an exhausting, lengthy creative process, the band assumed the ambitious goal of creating a multi-media monster (CD / Audio-DVD package) with their next release. Choosing to name the album 'Terrifyer,' the album saw its release in the Fall of 2004, embodying a frighteningly compelling mix of metal, grind, thrash and punk rock that seethes with intensity. PIG DESTROYER's vicious attack set out to envelop the listener in a cocoon of grisly nihilism. 'Terrifyer' featured 32 minutes of unrelenting sonic battery as well as the 37-minute Audio-DVD track "Natasha," mixed in glorious 5.1 Surround Sound. 2007 saw the release of Phantom Limb, which received acclaim from critics and listeners worldwide, cementing their legendary status. For the album, the band drew inspiration from all that was around them and with it, PIG DESTROYER boil metal down to its muscle, sinew, and bone - razor-sharp guitar, percussive pummeling, and a lone, stark howl. Upon the album's release, PIG DESTROYER embarked on their first Australia headlining tour with BLOOD DUSTER, TERRORUST, FUCK I'M DEAD along with a US tour featuring shows with CARCASS, SUFFOCATION, MISERY INDEX, GENGHIS TRON and CAR BOMB. In 2009, the band made festival appearances at Hellfest, Maryland Deathfest, CMJ Fest, and Scion Rock Fest. In 2012, PIG DESTROYER released their brutal follow-up to Phantom Limb with new MISERY INDEX drummer, Adam Jarvis. Book Burner is a return to a raw, primitive sound and features 19 songs of their signature misanthropic grind. in 2013 PIG DESTROYER released an EP through bandcamp titled “Mass and Volume” as part of a charity effort, with Adam Jarvis’s cousin John jarvis joining PIG DESTROYER as the band’s first bass player in late 2013. Skinnyman

Skinnyman

26 Jun 2026 - 26 Jun 2026

Born Alex Holland in Leeds, Skinnyman is one of the few British emcees that needs almost no introduction. Moving as a kid to Finsbury Park, North London, Skinny found a melting pot of cultures suddenly on his doorstep and immersed himself in the musical culture of reggae and dancehall. Highly influenced by Leroy, Chas and fast tongue-talking Papa San, he was introduced to rap at a very early age. While watching the first rappers such as Electro Ascension, Wiggy Wiggy, Grandmaster, Melle Mel and Furious Five, he immediately realized he had been built for that. When he was about 7, he had to do a school play and decided to write his own script for his part. He built himself a Rubik”s cube, put on a Rubik”s cube costume and did a rap about the Rubik”s cube and the mathematical structures of it. That was the first time he was onstage doing a rap. Thank to his distinctive voice, Skinny easily progressed through open mic battles and consistently won titles around London. After becoming a founding member of The Bury Crew, in the early 90”s skinnyman moved on to establish by himself the seminal Mud Family alongside Mongo and Chester P with whom he released lots of EPs. These included the underground hits “Itchy Town” and “Lash Suttin”, a reworking of Redman”s “Smash Something”. One of the best Hip Hop crews in England whether on vinyl, on stage freestyling or battling other MCs, the Mud Fam expanded with new members joining and Chester P splitting to form Task Force with his brother Farma G. Shortly after, Skinny signed a deal with Talkin” Loud and completed a handful of album tracks whilst at the label. However, before the album was finished Skinny was sent to jail for 9 months for distribution of marijuana. Naturally talented for rapping and writing lyrics, his reputation has grown even bigger for being in trouble with the police, since Skinny believes in the good of marijuana and is an active promoter of its use. While he was inside, Talkin Loud was shut down by its parent company, freeing skinnyman from his contract. After the period of incarceration, released his masterful solo debut album, “Council Estate of Mind”, with a deal via Low Life Records in 2004. Well received by fans and critics as the highest new entry in the UK”s charts on the week of its release, heavily autobiographical and socially analytical, the album makes much use of samples from “Made in Britain”, a British film from the early 80s. Since the album”s release, skinnyman received considerable attention from UK hip hop radio and press, had the opportunity to work with grime artists such as Wiley and Shystie and supported The Streets at Brixton Academy. He even won in a rapping contest in London”s Subterranea against Eminem. In 2004, he was featured in “Tower Block Dreams”, a BBC documentary. In 2005, he played a small part in the interactive TV series “Dubplate Drama” and released two singles, “Forever Rangers” and “Holla/None Of Them”. On July 6, 2006 skinnyman played live on the night of DMC DJ Championship 2006 UK Final and Battle for UK Supremacy at The Hammersmith Palais. Few days after, he released the expected “DMC”s fifth Champion Sounds” album, the series that in the past has featured Roc Raida, the Mixologists, DJ Skully and Plus One. Presented by Koreema. Widowspeak

Widowspeak

17 Nov 2026 - 17 Nov 2026

Widowspeak are one of the most prolific and hardworking bands going, bubbling just under the surface. Molly Hamilton and Robert Earl Thomas are the core of the group and its songwriters, and they have honed their sound across sixteen years and an impressively consistent catalog. A lot has happened in that time: for them, for everyone. One of many bands to crop up in a fertile New York City music scene, they started out shuffling gear between venues now-since shuttered (Glasslands, Cake Shop, 285 Kent, Death By Audio to name a few) and their practice space in Monster Island Basement (now a Trader Joe’s). The highs and lows of a long career mean chaotic stints as road dogs traipsing across North America, fly-in gigs to São Paulo or Guadalajara, wrapping seven-week European tours... And then down-time of years in between, considering the power of slowly building a body of work. Widowspeak is now a married couple, working day jobs in their own off-season. Robert is a carpenter, Molly a waitress. Presented by Bird On The Wire. This is a 16+ event
House Of Protection

House Of Protection

7 Jul 2026 - 11 Jul 2026

House of Protection, the new venture from Stephen Harrison and Aric Improta, serves as a sanctuary for those who surrender to impulse. Abandoning regard for tradition or form, they followed a feeling and unearthed a sound that sees them push their limits further than ever before. Bridging the not-so-disparate worlds of hardcore, electronica, and punk, they forged a space for boundless creativity. Between their shared experience with Fever 333, Aric’s ongoing work with experimental rock group Night Verses and Steve’s turn as guitarist for iconic post-hardcore band The Chariot, the pair are renowned in the world of heavy music for never being afraid of extremes. House of Protection is a continuation of that unabashed self-expression, bottled into a snarling vessel of anger, uncertainty, joy, and creativity. “We wanted to create something where all our ideas, no matter how wild, felt safe,” says Steve. That’s the foundation for which House of Protection was built upon, arming their audience with a level of fearlessness and bliss that blurs the line between crowd and performers. Teaming up with close friends Jordan Fish (ex Bring Me The Horizon) & Nick DePirro (Night Verses), they created the sprawling, urgent debut single ‘It’s Supposed To Hurt.’ “We knew it wasn’t going to be easy to start again from scratch but that phrase became our ethos" offers Aric. House of Protection thrive in the margins of unpredictability, where anything goes and all are invited. Welcome home. It feels a little surreal to say this, but this September will mark 10 years since the release of our debut album, Love Is Not Enough. I’ve tried for a while to gather and articulate my thoughts on what that album means to me, or even speak for the band more broadly, but it’s just impossible to quantify. As individuals, and as a collective, our lives have changed in innumerable ways since its release - and many of the highest points we’ve experienced have been a direct result of that event. The community that we’ve found, the people that we’ve met and formed meaningful, lasting relationships with, the places we’ve been and stages we’ve played; all of that stems from the release of Love Is Not Enough. We’re as proud of it as we are grateful for it, and neither feeling could ever be accurately conveyed in words. So, now that we’ve concluded our celebrations for How To Disappear, we’re incredibly happy to announce that this Autumn we’ll be playing a select number of shows in celebration of Love Is Not Enough’s 10 year anniversary. Each night we’ll be playing the record in full, plus a selection of other songs - some of which you’re yet to hear. Joining us with be New York’s very own Downswing, who’ll be making their first trip to Europe for the tour. In addition to that, the UK shows of the tour are being brought to you in partnership with Rise Above Cancer, and we’re proud to announce that £1 of each ticket sold will be donated to their work. They’ll also be making an appearance in Cardiff, so you can learn more about what they do directly, and learn about other ways you can support the cause. Presented by Hassle Records. Protest The Hero

31 Jul 2026 - 31 Jul 2026

PROTEST THE HERO are a Canadian Progressive Metal band from Whitby, Ontario. Originally named HAPPY GO LUCKY, the band changed their name to PROTEST THE HERO and released their debut EP, Search for the Truth, in 2002. In 2005, the band released their first album Kezia on Canadian Indie label Underground Operations. On January 23, 2006, the band signed with Vagrant Records for Kezia's American release on April 4, 2006. Their second album, Fortress was released by Underground Operations in Canada and by Vagrant Records worldwide on January 29, 2008. The band released their third studio album, Scurrilous, on March 22, 2011. Expressing frustrations with record labels, in January 2013 the band announced that they would crowdfund their fourth album. The Indiegogo campaign was a runaway success, and the independently released Volition debuted on October 29, 2013, distributed with the help of Razor & Tie. In October 2015, the band announced that their next release would take the form of an EP, distributed via subscription service Bandcamp, entitled Pacific Myth. The band started the production process of their fifth studio album in January 2018. The process was delayed due to issues with vocalist Walker's voice, which arose during the Fortress X Tour in June 2018. The album, titled Palimpsest, would release two years later on June 18, 2020. On June 6, 2018, the band announced that they were forced to cancel their upcoming summer tour in Europe and Japan, and postpone the recording of their next studio album, due to Rody Walker developing "vocal issues" that might develop into "irreparable damage" if not taken care of. A new single titled "The Canary" was released on April 16, 2020, on streaming sites. On the same day, the album's title, Palimpsest, along with the track listing and its release date set for June 19 was announced. Along with the 10 tracks that are listed for most editions, two bonus tracks called "Gift Horse" and "The Dueling Cavalier" exist that are included in a special vinyl bundle. The second single, "From the Sky", was released on May 14, 2020. The band modified the release date of the album from June 19 to June 18, 2020, in observance of Juneteenth, and the album was released to pre-order subscribers a day earlier on June 17, 2020. In November 2021, Luke Hoskin announced his retirement from touring, although he remains a band member for songwriting and recording purposes. Ben Davis of The Kindred was announced as the band's new touring lead guitarist. Presented by Born Again Concerts. This is a 16+ event

De Staat

9 Nov 2026 - 15 Nov 2026

De Staat are a rock band opening the floodgates to an intoxicating, even dizzying, array of genres, which is not particularly unusual for them. It’s been woven into their DNA since day one. The massive lead single ‘KITTY KITTY’ couldn’t serve as a better primer for the upcoming album. Not only does the labyrinthine six-minutes and 45-seconds boast a gigantic, bubbling bassline, it also boldly attempts to capture the conflicting arguments transpiring on the global political stage right now. ´´That song is very much based on when Trump arrived. ” explains Torre. ´´ It’s a collection of words and sentences which came into my head during that campaign – it’s about the creation of different groups in society and how they’re completely in their own bubble. ” Through their own brand of rock more and more people are noticing them over the years, which led De Staat to landing some highly coveted support slots including The Rolling Stones in Amsterdam and a run with Muse across Europe with their blockbusting 2016 Drones tour. After this tour impending stardom is not going to their heads and Torre was preoccupied with the idea of De Staat’s new fifth album. De Staat have many new, bold and diverse songs at their disposal. Across three more colourful albums, 2011’s Machinery , 2013’s I_Con and 2016’s O , De Staat have established a chameleonic brand of rock that is wholly their own – a band who cite the influence of everyone from Talking Heads, Rihanna, and Nine Inch Nails to Radiohead, Michael Jackson, Run-DMC and Soulwax.

Cat Clyde

Cat Clyde

26 Jan 2027 - 28 Jan 2027

Cat Clyde is a singer/songwriter based out of rural Ontario, Canada. A combination of driven, soulful blues and sweet, folk- tinged, dulcet tones that carry a particular sense of familiarity provide the structure on which she creates her unique sound. With influences ranging from Patsy Cline and Lead Belly to Karen Dalton and Bobbie Gentry, this patchwork of musical significance, when stitched to her modern approach, fits like a well-tailored, corduroy-road cloth. Cat's latest album Down Rounder is a wonder of deeply felt songwriting, a record that finds her marvelling at what's around her while considering her own place within it all. Cat joined producer Tony Berg in Los Angeles famed Sound City studios to lay down the entirety of Down Rounder in six days flat. The record sounds both lively and lived-in, with Clyde's malleable singing voice spanning an appealing twang to a lovely, plaintive croon and anywhere in between espousing an essential connection between our spiritual centre and the natural world that surrounds us. The album is an exploration and expression of self, patterns in the natural and unnatural world, connecting to nature, the turning wheel of life, shedding old selves, embracing new selves, and the ever changing, expanding and contracting nature of love and life, Cat explains. After racking up millions of streams across multiple platforms with previous releases, Down Rounder sounds like the work of someone who's found themselves artistically and holistically, while extending a hand to any listener who wants to follow Clyde on her singular and thrilling path.

Ethan Regan - I Almost Graduated Tour

10 Dec 2026 - 12 Dec 2026

Music goes beyond skin deep for Ethan Regan. Piercing the surface, he’s not just singing and playing guitar; he’s laying his emotions bare, getting out those words that we don’t always say when we should, and practicing the best kind of therapy-out loud. As a vocalist, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer, the North Carolina native shapes each facet of his artistry, architecting soundscapes, performing every part, and belting right from the soul. Sonically, he fuses gentle, yet heartfelt folk with alternative experimentation, going as far as to pull inspiration from rock, hip-hop, and funk.
