When Shakespeare died, he famously left his wife Anne only one thing the second best bed. This superb one-woman play, full of both humour and pathos, has received great critical acclaim since its premier at the Swan Theatre, Worcester, in 2012. Liz Grand stars as Anne Hathaway on the night of Shakespeares funeral. The wake has finished, the mourners have all gone home, leaving Anne to remember her life with the most talented playwright the world has ever seen. Or was he? Did he write the plays? His widow would know if anybody did. Wouldnt she? She would!!

Pam Ayres closes this years Summer Festival with her current show DOGGEDLY ONWARD, based on her recent book of the same name. Pam has gathered her careers work of poetry into this book, which traces the course of her life, and illustrates how her work has provoked laughter, and some tears, to people around the world. Pam has spent half a century providing hilarious and profound insights into the delights and tribulations of everyday life. DOGGEDLY ONWARD A LIFE IN POEMS, contains all of Pams poems from the 1970s to 2020s Recent TV appearances include two series of The Cotswolds, for Channel 5, This Morning, Alan Titchmarsh, Countdown, and Would I Lie To You? Who doesnt feel warm, sentimental, and downright good when they think of Pam Ayres? Shes a timeless talent and a glorious peoples poet. Glastonbury Festival 2022 If people are fond of me, I am delighted, and I hope I have given a lot of people a laugh, as that is a great experience to laugh!"
