Five hours of soul with DJs Mark Summerscales and Adrian Moore, hosted by The Halifax Soul Crew, on the first Wednesday of every month. Wednesday afternoons are becoming part of the Soul calendar in the North. With successful events in many towns across our region. Jake Dixon is a profound singer-songwriter from the Northwest of England. He was once known for fronting the band: The Hiding Magpies, but now pursues a solo project with his new band, featuring Sam Shelton (Drums), and Chris Allen (Keys / Bass Keys). Combining genres such as New-Wave, Synth-Pop, and Heartland-Rock, they’re a group not to be missed!

The Puretones are a diverse 4 piece band based in Yorkshire playing all the bangers.

Welcoming them back to the Sound Bar, Last orders are a five-piece Yorkshire-based covers band that love American rock. The line up has changed gradually over the years but they’ve always loved playing American-based rock and roll and country rock music. Expect to hear classics from Creedance, Chuck Berry, Georgia Satellites, Lynyrd Skynyrd and more.

“Outside the Original” is a Scottish progressive rock tribute band that focuses on performing music from bands from the likes of: Emerson, Lake & Palmer, Genesis, King Crimson, Yes, and Pink Floyd. The band, formed by James Finnigan (formerly of Hue and Cry and Stiltskin), faithfully reproduces the classics of progressive rock; establishing themselves as “the only must see prog rock show in the UK”. Performing two sets of carefully curated songs, covering a range of progressive rock classics, this is a journey through the sounds that defined a generation and a night not to be missed by any Prog fans out there.

Dana Ali is an American singer and songwriter from Atlanta, GA. She has crossed the waters to the United Kingdom with her bass player Dave Hewitt (Babe Ruth fame). They have co-written and recorded songs in the USA and in the UK Dana Ali’s creative style is a blend of Soul, Jazz, Blues, and R&B with Funk Rhythms, which has resonated with audiences across the world. Since arriving in the UK, Dana has been touring the country with the Dana Ali Band performing in a variety of venues and festivals, captivating audiences with her powerful vocal range and heartfelt lyrics. Death or Glory are a young tribute to the only band that mattered - The Clash. Formed on International Clash Day in 2023 by Tom Mannion, Death or Glory was created with the aim of creating a tribute to The Clash that is as like-for-like as possible. He was soon joined by Sam Smith, a Joe Strummer tribute act with an eye for detail and love for The Clash that matched that of Mannion. With the addition of Jack Newton’s razor sharp drums and the multi-faceted abilities of Matt Baron (Keys, Guitars, Harmonica, Percussion) the band had all the ingredients they needed to recreate the studio sound of The Clash in the live arena. Early gigs in Manchester proved incredibly successful with attendances more than doubling with every gig and reviews and hype surrounding the band getting louder and louder. By the just the 4th show, they were playing to sell out crowds and the tour-de-force that is Death or Glory - Tribute to The Clash raced into 2024. The band pride themselves on not just recreating the sound of The Clash but the look and feel too with equipment, stage antics, clothes and attitudes that match their counterparts delivering a sound and experience as close to the spirit of The Clash that you will ever see. From Bolton, Raspberry Glam are the ultimate ’70s glam rock tribute band. With outrageous makeup, flamboyant costumes and infectious energy, Raspberry Glam pay homage to the iconic era of glitter, glam and rock ‘n’ roll. Guaranteed fun!

Inner Frenzy are a four-piece pop/rock covers band based in Colne, Lancashire. They have been entertaining crowds for over a decade, with a repertoire that covers a wide range of styles and genres. They play music from artists such as: The Beatles, Snow Patrol, Billy Ocean, Queen, Bruce Springsteen, George Ezra, Oasis, The Rolling Stones, Stereophonics to name a few. So there’s something for everyone!

StoneCutter are a hard rock band without pretention, who love to play music, including fantastic covers and a few originals. They play classic rock like you remember, with an enthusiasm that comes from the soul... that’s It, pure and simple.

We welcome Howlin’ Johnny & the Devil’s Rejects back to the Sound Bar. They’re a lively five-piece band promising fast and furious ‘hellbilly, skiffle, country, punk & rock ‘n’ roll, featuring Johnny himself on ukulele and ‘voice of treason’. Parental guidance is advised!

From Bradford, the awesome Suicide Blonde will be playing everything from old school hard rock to more recent hits. They smashed the Sound Bar last time they played and we are sure they will do it again. One of the very best covers bands around...Fantastically entertaining and not to be missed.

Skipton’s finest, Undercover are a popular two-piece, guitar-based, vocal band.

Huddersfield indie-folk-pop band that emerged organically around singer-songwriter Eileen’s quirky songs and developed into the distinctive, catchy, harmony & hook laden folk-pop songs and sound they can call their own. Their performances are full of light and shade, and their songs have been described by audience members as; ‘enigmatic,’ ‘intriguing,’ ‘sunny,’ ‘happy’ and ‘making you feel like dancing in the moonlight.’

Ten Fields are a five-piece band based near Leeds, UK. They write and perform melodic, guitar-led music influenced by artists including Crowded House, Fleetwood Mac and Jackson Browne, alongside contemporary acts such as The War on Drugs. Their sound is defined by strong vocal harmonies, structured songwriting and layered arrangements. Members of the band have had music featured in independent film and television and have received national airplay on BBC Radio 2 and BBC Radio 6 Music. They have supported artists including Chris Difford and Glen Tilbrook of Squeeze, ABC, Abigail Washburn and Simon Felice, and have performed at festivals and venues across the UK and Europe. The band have recorded widely, including at Rockfield Studios in Wales, resulting in the release of their five-track EP The Rockfield Sessions. Ten Fields have built a reputation as a strong live act, combining tight musicianship with dynamic arrangements that translate effectively to the stage. Their performances are characterised by clear vocal harmonies, well-structured set lists and a balance of quieter, harmony-led material with more expansive, guitar-driven songs. Equally suited to intimate venues and festival stages, the band deliver consistent, professional live shows.

Madchester icon Clint Boon travels to Skipton Sound Bar for a live DJ Set. Clint was a major part of the cultural movement that saw the rise of 90’s indie from the clubs and pubs of Manchester and further afield. His band The Inspiral Carpets, alongside the likes of the Happy Mondays and Stone Roses sound tracked many nights out, house parties and even TOTP! Clint Boon has never stopped being a driving force for British music, and a proud supporter of new music and champion of grassroots venues. Clint will be supported by one the best indie covers band currently on the scene. The Indie Tweeners need no introduction to the regular Sound Bar crowd, but if you have not seen them before then you are in for a treat.

Steely Don is an 11 piece band based in the North of England, dedicated to playing the music of Steely Dan and Donald Fagen. The aim of the band is to deliver authentic performances of the back catalogue from the classic albums of these highly regarded musicians and songwriters, who produced music that blended elements of Rock, Jazz, Latin, R&B, Soul and Blues. Expect to hear the hits Reelin in the years, Do it again, FM, Josie, Peg, Rikki dont lose that number, Kid Charlemagne..as well as a selection of deep cuts and classic album tracks. The band are highly experienced musicians and are all massive fans of Steely Dan. Its an on-going labour of love to recreate the music as faithfully and accurately as possible. This is a tribute band.
