We are very excited to be welcoming soulful guitarist, vocalist and song writer Edison Herbert to Smokey Joes for a very special, vibrant evening of music full of pure emotion and melody. Music has always been the heartbeat of Edisons life, from studying classical piano at the Yorkshire College of Music, gaining a scholarship to The Guildhall School of Music and gaining inspiration from the guitar master George Benson which sparked a deep passion for the guitar. With three captivating albums, regular touring and recording projects plus directing West End show Unforgettable, Edison is certainly making his mark as one of the top guitarists on the UK circuit. A career highlight has undoubtedly been performing an original piece in the Sky Arts Guitar Star series where his idol George Benson quoted I really enjoyed your playing. Youre one of the few cats who can make that thing sound so good. Edison is loving his incredible musical journey, and he looks forward to where his music will take him next. For now his next stop is Smokey Joes where he will be performing with the usual house band crew the man of steel Alex Steele on piano, our favourite brummie Mike Green on bass plus the man with all the rhythm Mike Cypher on drums. On this occasion, the house band will also feature our very own Smokey Joes door lady (who also happens to play a bit of sax and sing), the highly energetic and vivacious Kim Cypher. Having recorded with Edison for his latest album All I Need, Kim and Edison will finally come together live for the first time at Smokey Joes ahead of Kims LIVE and Smiling Vinyl Album Launch at Peggys Skylight in Nottingham on 27th September which also features Edison in the band. US guitarist B.D. Lenz is a prolific recording artist with 13 highly acclaimed albums under his belt featuring incredible original pieces recorded with an array of top musicians including, most recently guitarist Mike Stern and trumpeter Randy Brecker. His music has been featured in hundreds of TV shows globally including "Breaking Bad" (AMC), "Catfish" (MTV), and "Young Sheldon" (CBS) to name just a few.
