Join us for a puppet show designed for under 10s, blending puppetry with ventriloquism for an interactive experience. Follow Steph and Layla as they welcome you into their zoo, filled with charming puppet animals. When a mischievous Gremlin casts a spell on the sunshine, plunging the zoo into darkness, the only way to reverse the spell and restore sunlight is by creating enough joy to break the curse. In this heart-warming and interactive show, the children become key participants. From singing to performing fun actions, each child’s contribution is vital to lifting the spell.

Music Dude, also known as Daniel Snowden is an independent composer who writes his own music. He is known for using different types of synths and sounds; he uploads his music onto YouTube, for the whole world to hear. He has two YouTube channels - Music Dude480 and Midnight Meditation Zone. Music Dude480 focus on more upbeat music whilst Midnight Mediation Zone focus on the slower and more calm side of music.

Artist Wendy Tate will be hosting a series of accessible sessions designed to help you to release your inner artist and open up a wild journey into printmaking, using items easily available at home. An old pasta making machine, wrapping paper, letters, maps, various recycled materials will all come in handy during these workshops. (Pasta machine is provided, as is everything else.) We will try nature printing, making printed plates from recycled materials, and also incorporate collage and your own marks. Freedom to explore at your own pace and in your own way is encouraged.

Join the storytellers of GillyKing for a Victorian magic-lantern show and children’s slide making workshop, at Beeforth’s Hive in South Cliff Gardens. After a colourful slide show on an original Victorian magic lantern, the children will write their own stories, then make and project the slides to illustrate them, using Victorian toy lanterns.
