The Jigsaw Players at Southside House
17 May 2025 - 17 May 2025
Join us for a delightful evening of chamber music in the best tradition of Southside House, one of the oldest houses in Wimbledon Village and certainly the quirkiest.
For this special evening before the house undergoes renovation, we are proud to welcome back the Jigsaw Players' Concert Series, Wimbledon's most renowned ensemble, lead by founder and virtuoso viola player Emmanuella Reiter, whose career spans the BBC Symphony Orchestra, the Royal Philharmonic and more recently, the Orchestra of the Royal Opera House. Emmanuella will be performing with brilliant violin player, Jonathan Stone, recently appointed Concertmaster of the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie in Bremen and leader of the French orchestra Cercle de lHarmonie, which specialises in Classical and early Romantic repertoire performed on period instruments.
Emanuella, also an author and a teacher, has given Master Classes in conservatoires across the world and both she and Jonathan are continuously in demand as soloist and orchestra players in the UK and abroad. So it will be a genuine treat to have them in Southside with us!
The programme for the evening will be as follows:
Bartk: A selection of duets
Mozart: Duo for violin and viola in B flat Major K424
Bach: A selection of Inventions
Martin: Three Madrigals H.313
Handel/Halvorsen: Passacaglia
