The Truffle Valley Boys

The Truffle Valley Boys

4 Oct 2026 - 4 Oct 2026

The Truffle Valley Boys are a band with a mission: to bring back the raw, powerful and authentic sound of the early years of Bluegrass music no compromises. The group draws its repertoire and sound from some of the more obscure Bluegrass groups of the 1950s defining years for this musical genre, which developed as a branch of Country music, strongly influenced by Gospel, Swing and Blues, and played an important role in the birth of Rock-A-Billy. The Truffle Valley Boys perform authentic Blue Grass in the most uncompromising way, around a single microphone and using period instrumentation, with the utmost attention to musical and aesthetic details, a fiery drive and a healthy dose of good-natured entertainment! The Truffle Valley Boys' show is a real throwback to era gone by, and their music is a tribute to the genuine, raw and powerful sounds of the more obscure regional Bluegrass acts of the 1950s...full steam ahead, indeed! In this fun-filled evening, music hall duo Hudson and Lestrade (Janet Ayers and Matt Parsons) perform contemporary songs full of Victorian humour and oddness, and author Matt Wingett reads extracts from Sherlock Holmes that share the same Victorian obsessions! Funny, dark, silly and exciting, this hour-plus-long evening of fun, drama, tragedy and silliness is most definitely performed in a Sherlockian mode!

Amelia Coburn

Amelia Coburn

19 Feb 2027 - 19 Feb 2027

Coburn is a literate folk-goth, her songs flicker in the moonlight, they look longingly through the mist (B24/7) Amelia Coburn has a knack for making the unusual sound timeless. Her honest, occasionally hilarious and quintessentially north-eastern persona disarms and beguiles in equal measure. Drawing inspiration from gothic literature and the shadowy allure of film noir, there is a darkness at the heart of many of her songs, populated by vivid characters and nocturnal creatures that inhabit the liminal space between the moon and the milkman. Songs that feel like centuries old fairy tales.. (Shindig Magazine) A sold-out solo headline UK tour in early 2026 solidified her burgeoning reputation, with slots alongside Paul Weller, Suzanne Vega and The Proclaimers showcasing Amelia's sound to ever increasing audiences.
