Cvm: Rivers Festival 2025 - Die Schne Mllerin
Prize-winning duo Giacomo Schmidt & JongSun Woo perform Schubert's much-loved song cycle, "Die schne Mllerin", which explores a young man's journey through nature and unrequited love. Friday 30th May 2025 @ 7.30pm St Cuthbert's Church, Clungunford SY70PN Franz Schubert: Die schne Mllerin Giacomo Schmidt (baritone) JongSun Woo (piano) Tickets Full price: 15 Under 16s: 5 Under 11s: Free all of our venues are wheelchair accessible About the performers: As a duo, Giacomo and JongSun have recently won prizes at International Schubert Competition in Dortmund, IVC in 's Hertogenbosch and International Student Lied Duo Competition in Groningen. They both studied at the Liedakademie in 2021/2022 under the artistic direction of Thomas Hampson. At the International Student LiedDuo Competition in 2022, they won both first prize, the Aurora Festival Award and the Prize for the best performance of the verplicated work, June Night by Anne-Maartje Lemereis.

Our final concert will feature Schubert's Piano Quintet, The Trout, alongside stormy Rossini and some more vibrant Ravel. We are also delighted to welcome local young musician Martha Franks to the festival for a special guest performance of "Fisherman's Song" by Chen Yi.
