The band encompasses a wealth of experience, knowledge & love of the hot club/ gypsy jazz style, & their sparkling performances, engaging manner & infectious joy in the music have made them a popular choice across concert halls, theatres, art centres, village halls, festivals & jazz clubs. Alexia Gardner Quintet - Leyburn Jazz Festival 2025 20/10
Alexia Gardner, international jazz vocalist and recording artist, returned to the UK in the Summer of 2023 after years of performing and recording in South East Asia, Europe and United States. Grammy Award nominated as Best Newcomer and Best Vocal Jazz Album in 2011, she leads a dynamic and swinging quintet based in the North East, making a name for themselves playing Great American Songbook standards and popular tunes.

Paul Edis & Vasilis Xenopoulos Quartet - Leyburn Jazz Festival 2025 20/10
Edis is an incredibly fertile composer and improviser. Jazz Journal Vasilis Xenopoulos and Paul Edis began playing together 20 years ago, when they had both relocated to West London to study. Originally from Greece, Vasilis had just finished studying at Berklee College in the US, whilst Paul had moved South from the Northeast of England. In the intervening years theyve played numerous gigs together. Their latest recording , Feels Like Home has received glowing reviews from around the world.
Ian Shaw and Tony Kofi Quartet play Ellington & Strayhorn - Leyburn Jazz Festival 2025 20/10
Two of the UKs finest and most respected jazz musicians unit in this wonderful quartet. Ian and Tony are both making their second appearance at LJF, and are joined by Barry Green, piano, and Dave Green, bass in a celebration of the songs of two pivotal jazz giants: bandleader, pianist and composer, Duke Ellington; and lyricist, pianist and composer, Billy Strayhorn. This takes in some of the best swinging tunes and most stunning ballads ever written, from the composers of Take The A Train, Sophisticated Lady and the seminal Lush Life. Joseph Carville Trio - Leyburn Jazz Festival 2025 20/10
The Trio has been performing together since 2019, blending Josephs piano with Allan Peat on upright bass and Mark Rayner on drums, delivering the melodies of the Great American Songbook with energy. All three are North East natives. After six years of growth, they remain committed to their music and their journey together.
Northern Swing Orchestra - Leyburn Jazz Festival 2025 20/10
The Leeds based Northern Swing Orchestra play a wide variety of music, from 1940's, the bluesy swing of Count Basie and his Orchestra, Latin as well as all the classic big band favourites. After running the Jonathan Wyatt Big Band in East Anglia for 30 years, Jonathan relocated to Huddersfield and started the Northern Swing Orchestra. The band will also be joined by the wonderful Cherie Gears. Cherie is a captivating vocalist who has enchanted audiences across the UK and Europe with her stunning performances. Whether its the soulful depth of blues, or the smooth elegance of jazz, the heartfelt passion of soul Cherie delivers each genre with remarkable authenticity and flair.
Savannah Jazz Band - Leyburn Jazz Festival 2025 20/10
Savannah Jazz Band have a distinguished 45-year track record of performing the very best trad jazz for audiences up and down the country. They delivered a memorable performance for us in 2022 and we're delighted they're back with us for 2025. Expect all the classic toe-tapping trad tunes with a good dash of humour and bags of swing. Please note that Savannah Jazz Band will be performing in place of the previously advertised Pedigree Jazz Band, who are now unable to perform due to health issues.
