Helen Picton (Old Court Nurseries) : Daisy Days - The Rise, Fall & Renaissance Of The Michaelmas Daisy 2pm Saturday 8th November 2025 St Peters Baptist Church, Eden Close, Worcester WR5 3TZ Helen trained as a Botanist at the University of Reading and is co-author of the 2014 book 'The Plant Lovers Guide to Asters'. The third generation of Picton's to run Old Court Nurseries & The Picton Garden in Colwall, Worcestershire, Helen specialises in Asters or Michaelmas daisies but has a love of all plants. Together with her husband Ross Barbour, Helen maintains the important horticultural heritage of the gardens and continues to develop their offering. The range of plants has significantly expanded and now includes ferns, tender succulents and over 300 varieties of snowdrops. Since September 2023, Old Court Nurseries holds a National Collection of Polypodiums. Visitors are very welcome at 5 which includes complimentary tea / coffee. Cut & Come Again - Perennials For The Garden & Floral Display Julie Ritchie - Hoo House Nursery 2pm Saturday 13th September 2025 St Peters Baptist Church, Eden Close, Worcester WR5 3TZ Julie trained as a Landscape Architect and set up in business designing and building gardens with husband Robin. In 1986 they established Hoo House Nursery to grow the plants they needed which were unavailable at that time. 38 years on, Hoo House offers up to 800 varieties of alpines and perennials growing and propagating as many as possible themselves. They have created eleven new varieties and have been proudly peat-free since 2011. Julie has been lecturing for over 25 years and is a regular RHS guest speaker and expert on Gardeners Question Time panels. Visitors are very welcome at 5which includes complimentary tea / coffee.
