Organ Magic at St Wulframs Grantham - World Class Organist Hector Olivera - ft Rod Pooley
This concert will be the last date of the European Tour by world renowned organist Hector Olivera. Hector will perform on the fabulous Norman and Beard 4 manual pipe organ of St Wulframs Grantham. The concert will also feature Rod Pooley. The UKs top organist and business owner of Rod Pooley Music Grantham playing the German pioneering brand of organ Bhm. Maestro Hector Olivera Since entering the Buenos Aires Conservatory as a child prodigy at age six, Maestro Hector Olivera has become one of the most sought-after and revered international concert organists of the present time. The Times Reporter describes an evening with Mr. Olivera as:An event, a happening, a joyful celebration of the sheer power and pressure that a true virtuoso like Hector Olivera can unleash in a concert hall. Born in Buenos Aires, Mr. Olivera began playing the pipe organ when he was three. At age five, he played for the legendary Eva Pern; at twelve, he entered the University of Buenos Aires and, by eighteen, had performed for heads of state and celebrities throughout Latin America. Gilbert and Sullivan's Iolanthe in Concert
Award winning Grantham Operatic Society (GOS) are delighted to present a concert version of the comic operetta Iolanthe by Gilbert and Sullivan. Iolanthe, a fairy, commits the ultimate crime of marrying a human. Fast forward 20 years, and her half-human, half-fairy son now wishes to marry a human himself but its a crime punishable by death. Left with no choice, Iolanthe and the fairies set out to challenge this law Featuring a stunning score and brilliant comedy, join our feisty fairies as they take on the dim-witted peers of the realm and the British system of government. Performed on Saturday 30th August 2025 only in the beautiful setting of St Wulframs Church, Grantham. There are two performances - a 2.30pm matinee and a 7.30pm evening performance. Advance tickets priced at 10 and 5 (under 16s only) are available from the St Wulframs Parish Office (cash only) and from this TicketSource website. Tickets available on the door priced at 12 only. All seating is unreserved and the coffee shop (matinee) and bar (evening) will be open throughout.
