Russell Kane Live: Hyperactive!

Russell Kane Live: Hyperactive!

3 May 2025 - 6 Dec 2025

Russell Kane’s bringing to town his gut-punch funny, searing, award-winning take on the years we’ve just gone through. Hailed as the The Guardian’s Number 1 comedy performance to come out of 2020 (The Guardian are miserable and usually hate everything) – this high-octane show brings nuclear-energy belly laughs and pant-wetting observations which prove laughter really is the best medicine (actually, it’s probably hospital medicine). Russell Kane has two chart-topping, award-bagging podcasts: Man Baggage and BBC Radio 4’s Evil Genius. He is a regular on Channel 4, BBC, and ITV: all the usual shows you see funny people on. He’s also a writer, actor, and presenter. He drinks lots of coffee and is ‘like that in real life’. He was the first ever comedian to bag the two most prestigious comedy awards on earth in the same year, for the same show: The Dave’s Edinburgh Comedy Awards (formerly The Perrier), and The Melbourne International Comedy Festival Award, (formerly known as the Barry Award). He’s also a raving bighead that likes listing his achievements.

Milton Jones: HA!milton

Milton Jones: HA!milton

3 May 2025 - 29 Nov 2025

This is not a musical. Milton Jones is tone deaf and has no sense of rhythm, but at least he doesn’t make a song and dance about it. He has more important things to discuss. Like giraffes... and there’s a bit about tomatoes. You might know him from Mock the Week, Live at the Apollo or Radio 4. Or that time he stood for the Scottish National Party, fought a hard campaign, but in the end had to respect the wishes of the people of Cardiff. A whole new show of daftness. You know it makes sense. Warning - contains jokes from the start.

Attention All Shipping - A Celebration of the Shipping Forecast
As the shipping forecast embarks on its second century, bestselling author and award-winning broadcaster Charlie Connelly’s hilarious and informative show brings the quirky broadcast vividly to life, celebrating what he regards as the greatest invention of the modern age. How did a weather forecast for ships capture the hearts of a nation, from salty old sea dog to insomniac landlubber? How is it possible for ‘rain later’ to be ‘good’? And where the hell is North Utsire? Delving into the history of the forecast and the extraordinary people who made it, Charlie explains what those curious phrases really mean, celebrates its wide cultural impact, shares riproaring adventures from his own extraordinary journey through the 31 sea areas – the times he was accused by the media of trying to annex Rockall from the British government and sang sea shanties with Tom Hardy in a Manx hotel bar while Scary Spice pulled the pints - and presents his case for the shipping forecast being our finest achievement. Inspired by Charlie’s bestselling book, which has sold more than a quarter-of-a-million copies worldwide, this pacy, moving and hilarious show takes you all the way from Viking to South-East Iceland to ensure the shipping forecast will never sound the same again. “Charlie Connelly is one of the funniest people I have ever had the pleasure of sitting in a studio with…He has a natural wit that doesn’t get crushed by an over-zealous ego with a lovely personality attached to it.” Fi Glover, broadcaster “Charlie is always warm, funny and engaging…I actually sent him a fan letter - and I've never done that to anyone in my life before.” Bernard Sumner, New Order “I can thoroughly recommend an evening spent in the company of the very funny and very lovely Charlie Connelly whose knowledge of what I call ‘the ships’ is excellent. Bosie

Bosie

23 May 2025 - 24 May 2025

A one-man play focusing on the self-imposed exile of Oscar Wilde's beau, Bosie (Lord Alfred Bruce Douglas) has been shunned from London's High Society as Wilde's scandalous story unfolds towards trial. Set in a Parisian salon in May 1895, Bosie contemplates his own story and seeks to establish his own narrative against the public downfall of his lover. Taking place over two dates (as Wilde is released on bail and then on his day of sentencing), Bosie tells the story behind the story. Ruminating on his sexuality and prowess, his hunger for position and status, Bosie explores his journey in homosexuality and relationships. Shocking, abrasive and, at times, downright uncouth the devilish details of his dalliances and affairs come to the fore - but at what point will he accept some responsibility for his current situation? A beautiful boy turned man, with an attitude of privilege and expectation that supersedes reason, Lord Alfred Douglas' petulance is on full show. But how did he come to be here? He battles and reflects with how his actions led to Oscar Wilde’s downfall and disgrace, and how he, Bosie - a gentleman of Victorian high society - is now trapped, degraded and alone. Passionate and direct, sumptuous and scandalous, Bosie is ready to spill the Victorian tea - well, his own version of it at least. Written and performed by Rik Barnett, the first staged iteration took place at The Hope Mill Theatre in 2017 as part of their Powerhouse Plays venture to great acclaim, and has since undergone some significant development to the production you will see here. Directed by Tuirenn Hurstfield and produced by Northern Rep Theatre, this new outing of BOSIE strips back from the flowers of the Victorian setting and focuses on the character and just how deliciously deviant he is.

Born In The USA

Born In The USA

29 Oct 2025 - 29 Oct 2025

Following 4 and 5 star reviews in Edinburgh and at London’s Park Theatre, this enthralling and timely solo play is touring the UK in 2025. Michigan. Present day. Jimmy Vandenburg, ex-Ford factory car worker, works alone in his garage servicing the classic American cars of his youth. He is the man ‘born down in a dead man’s town’, the antihero of the Bruce Springsteen anthem, trying to survive in the economic wasteland of the rust belt. A decorated Vietnam war veteran, Jimmy felt his service for his country was ignored after he came home. Trump’s call to ‘Make America Great Again’ appeals to Jimmy’s disillusionment. But his new-found politics drives a wedge between him and his wife and daughter until a chance visit by the son of a fallen comrade makes him doubt his convictions and leads to a profound emotional reconciliation. This multi-layered, often humorous and intensely moving solo play by award-winning actor-playwright Richard Vergette is a timely exploration of what drives populist politics and how they seduce the disillusioned and the disaffected. A few of the many glowing reviews from Edinburgh and London Edinburgh Fringe Review Gripping piece of theatre that should be experienced by all generations…a compelling, heart-wrenching tale. ★★★★★ One4Review beautifully written and acted play. I was moved to tears
