The Farmer and The Clown - Flibbertigibbet Theatre
The Farmer and The Clown, is a beautiful adaptation of the picture book by award winning author and illustrator, Marla Frazee (Boss Baby). Funded by Arts Council England and with support from Bristol Old Vic Theatre, Wyldwood Arts and WECA, we premiered at The Bristol Old Vic Theatre this year, where we sold out for the week run over Feb Half Term. We then toured for 5 weeks, the 42 performances reaching approximately 3,500 people of all ages. We played schools, village halls, community centres as well as theatres. ...absolutely beautiful. I LOVED it! Beautiful performance and gorgeous music. Touched and delighted Emma Rice, Artistic Director, WISE CHILDREN The Farmer and The Clown has been created with such care, skill, artistry and talent that like all very special pieces of theatre it stays with you long after the event, feeding your soul and reminding you of how magical an experience theatre can be. I absolutely loved every second of it. Sally Cookson, Theatre Director The story is about an unlikely friendship between an old farmer living in the middle of nowhere, and a baby clown, who has fallen from the back of a passing circus train. What happens when someone from a different world, lands in the world of another? The story delicately explores themes of loneliness, friendship, and care, across the divisions of age and community. Playing without words like a silent movie, with a gorgeous, original soundtrack, the show is accessible to a wide range of audiences. We worked with access consultants and the show has been carefully crafted to be accessible to Ddeaf /HoH audiences. Kate Cross (Director of The Egg Theatre, Bath and Chair of ASSITEJ UK) said, "As disciplined and intelligent a piece of work for a young audience as Ive seen in a while." This show is a relaxed performance. A visual story will be provided. Show has been created in consultation with Deaf Access and visual language consultants.

Milton Jones: HA!milton

Milton Jones: HA!milton

6 Jun 2025 - 29 Nov 2025

This is not a musical. Milton Jones is tone deaf and has no sense of rhythm, but at least he doesn’t make a song and dance about it. He has more important things to discuss. Like giraffes... and there’s a bit about tomatoes. You might know him from Mock the Week, Live at the Apollo or Radio 4. Or that time he stood for the Scottish National Party, fought a hard campaign, but in the end had to respect the wishes of the people of Cardiff. A whole new show of daftness. You know it makes sense. Warning - contains jokes from the start.

Into the Light - PCK Dance

Into the Light - PCK Dance

19 Sept 2025 - 16 Oct 2025

Into the Light will present two works from PCK Dance. Produced by PCK Dance and DANCEHAUSpi VESSEL What are we in a world of noise? What do we witness amidst sudden silence? When do we confront our natures that we have long disguised, and feared to realise? 'Vessel' takes inspiration from the feeling of unfamiliarity to the body and mind experienced by choreographers as they were suddenly exposed to a quieter world removed from modern convenience and technology. Further delving into the existential realisation that we do not fully know the deeper facets of our being, 'Vessel' sees us confront the illusions we mistake for reality, unveiling the shadows inhabiting us and probing the depths of self-perception. IN THE ABSENCE In the Absence is an exploration on the nature of moving forward, the concept of evolving past an event and the boundaries created in that transition. The piece explores the journey of two characters each of whom struggles in the shared experience of letting go and the universal fear of acceptance. Reflection, struggle and longing to let go are the central themes explored through the dancers movements and the evocative set filled with thousands of small reflective confetti. The stage floor creates a vast mirror surface where dancers move, shift and even dishevel the materials. This powerful visual effect provokes the constant flux of the human mind as we process the memories of our past. The shifting nature of the choreography is a visual meditation on how our experiences can shape the choices we make to move forward. About the Company James Pett & Travis Clausen-Knight, founders of PCK Dance, are accomplished choreographers and dancers, with successful individual careers in prestigious companies like Company Wayne McGregor, Michael Clarke Company and Richard Alston Dance Company. Renowned for their provocative and intensely powerful movement language, they focus on the intricacies of the human experience, creating poignant and thought-provoking works that resonate deeply with their audiences, on a personal and emotional level. Their company tours globally, featuring in festivals such as Florence Dance Festival and The Greater Bay Festival China. 'A visual spectacle' - Double Bill
