Goblin Band + Spitzer Space Telescope

Goblin Band + Spitzer Space Telescope

26 Sept 2025 - 26 Sept 2025

Goblin Band formed from sessions of the same name run out of the HobGoblin Music shop in central London, organised by a collection of young queer folk obsessive friends and shop employees looking to forge their own way into folk music. This gave rise to a band of multi-instrumentalists firmly rooted in the folk music of Britain, interpreted via the leftist tradition concerned with folk’s relationship to the history of the working classes, capitalism, and colonialism. Through a fusion of harmony singing, fiddle, squeezebox, hurdy gurdy, recorders and more, Goblin Band deliver a charismatic alternative expression of English traditional culture in a way which is at once riotously joyful and deeply sincere. Goblin Band have already received a Quietus Feature and Guardian’s Folk Album of the Month. They are also integral cogs in London’s new folk movement, centred around the Broadside Hacks Folk Club and their regularly sold-out events at Hackney’s Moth Club. They have played alongside many musicians forming the new folk-vanguard in the UK - Daisy Rickman, Shovel Dance Collective, Milkweed, Junior Brother - as well as some of the genre’s living legends - Peggy Seeger, Martin Carthy and Martin Simpson. Alev Lenz + Violeta Vicci

Alev Lenz + Violeta Vicci

1 Oct 2025 - 1 Oct 2025

Two artists, longtime friends and collaborators are presenting their work alongside each other in this co-headline show. Alev’s forthcoming fourth album is an ambitious 12-track project that anchors each song to a different chromatic note, offering a minimalist, harmonically rich meditation on simplicity and emotional depth. Violeta is kicking off a short UK headline tour, with her immersive live show, which consists of layered strings, ethereal vocals, field recordings and electronics to a backdrop of breathtaking landscape visuals. Alev Lenz is a singer, composer, songwriter, and producer whose music defies conventional categorisation, merging sophisticated pop with ethereal vocal landscapes. Her critically acclaimed solo albums and breakout song ‘Fall Into Me’ (Black Mirror, Netflix) laid the groundwork for her upcoming fourth record: an 12-track meditation on minimalism, written around the chromatic scale. Rooted in natural soundscapes and highlighting the fragility of the environment, Swiss-Catalan violinist and vocalist Violeta Vicci is a multi-faceted contemporary classical and electronic artist. Hailed by the Strad as a ‘unique and imaginative performer’ she has collaborated with artists like Thom Yorke, Jonny Greenwood, Elbow, Sigur Rós, Fontaines D.C and Bat For Lashes. This event has tiered pricing, starting at £17.50. You can choose the level of support you would like to offer to the artists up to £50, plus booking fees. Presented by Stone Nest. Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult.
Michael A. Muller

Michael A. Muller

2 Oct 2025 - 2 Oct 2025

Michael A. Muller's wide-ranging work - spanning film scores, installations, and original recordings - emerges from a practice of deep listening, transforming both delicate human moments and the grandeur of natural phenomena into rich sonic environments. His compositions weave contemporary elements with traditional orchestration, creating musical landscapes that obscure the boundaries between past and present. This versatility has resulted in projects including narrative films, bespoke scores for brands and site-specific curations for institutions. After two decades as co-founder and multi-instrumentalist for Balmorhea, Muller's current work focuses on the liminal plane where sound shapes consciousness - investigating the intrinsic ways music transforms space, time and human connection. The most-recent works will be showcased on this tour, featuring the pure tonality of open-tuned guitar with a focus on mindful listening. The set will include selections from his solo catalog, previews of his forthcoming release, as well as iterations of early pieces composed for Balmorhea. Stone Nest is an arts organisation and performance venue in the heart of London's West End, bringing exceptional and experimental art to a wide audience.
