Kate Pinchuck: Don't Panic at The Oxford Comedy Festival
Dont Panic is Kate Pinchuck's award-winning comedy show about navigating mental health, being the daughter of two psychologists, and how incessantly trying to fix yourself can make everything worse. Were all about doing the work, were all on our healing journeys. The show is about fixing your inherently flawed self, reparenting your inner child, and forgiving your parents for doing their best (which turned out to not be very good actually). It's about trying not to lie to your therapist so she likes you more, while still telling the truth enough that she can help you stop people-pleasing. It's about how everyone who identifies as a people-pleaser doesnt seem to be very good at it. And how maybe, if you spend the whole mental health walk calling yourself lazy, you shouldnt be surprised it's not improving your mental health. Kate Pinchuck is the daughter of two psychologists, a gold star patient of many more, and she's just trying her fking best to do self-compassion even though secretly she doesnt think she deserves it. That's just a core belief though, you can totally work with that. Also the meds should help. With this level of experience as a patient, Kate is basically an unqualified qualified pseudo-therapist whose obsession with fixing herself sometimes spills over into trying to solve her audience's problems too. Esther Manito: Slagbomb

Esther Manito: Slagbomb

8 Jul 2025 - 27 Feb 2026

Esther’s new show ‘Slagbomb’ takes a nosedive into the awkward sandwich years of life. The phase when youthful freedom gives way to the reality of adult responsibilities. It’s a time when one finds oneself juggling everything from prostate checks to hosing faeces off the garden decking, whilst clad in questionable footwear like crocs. Growing up, Esther imagined she would fulfil all the expectations of a lady, poised and dignified, but looking around she realises that just hasn't happened. Esther's life seems to be a magnet for embarrassing moments and endless cockups. No matter how hard she tries to project sophistication, she often ends up highlighting her unrefined side. Now she wants to embrace her lack of dignity - whether it’s her less-than-graceful posture, cringeworthy encounters with shady drug dealers, or the painful realities of waxing gone wrong. At its core, Esther’s show is an exploration of the challenges and hilarities of navigating the sandwich years, and an invitation to the audience to feel good about the madness in their own lives. After all, she has a Lebanese father dealing with war, a mother dealing with cancer, two kids (who seem to have permanently lost their PE kit), a husband who just wanted some birthday nooky, and a sudden loss of hearing. It’s all part of the messy, chaotic, and often hilarious journey of a right Slagbomb.

Marise Gaughan at The Oxford Comedy Festival
A show about addiction, but not the serious Ted talk kind. Rehab, sleeping with old men for money, AA, the boring mundanity of sobriety. All grim topics, but I promise it's no sob story. It's about the humour in the darkness, and the search for light, living a brand new life with no tequila bottle in my hand, involving a year in Morocco learning to surf, falling in love with my surf instructor, it's a tale as old as time. No real lessons will be learned, except perhaps a lesson on how not to live your life. But that's showbiz baby! This is part of the Oxford Festival Fringe Preview Comedy Festival. The Inflatables

28 Jun 2025 - 28 Jun 2025

The Inflatables have been at the heart of Oxfordshire's Ska and 2-Tone scene for over 40 years. A group of close friends that formed over a shared love of music and having a laugh all the way back in 1980! Still retaining four original members, the band have built their reputation and loyal following with a full schedule of gigs throughout the county. Majorly influenced by bands such as The Specials, Madness, The Selecter, The Beat and Bad Manners, Inflatables started without any formal training to record in their bedrooms and practice religiously before breaking free to perform regular, packed out shows locally. Most notably, in 2009, Madness invited the Inflatables's version of 'One Better Day' to be featured on a 30-years of ska/2-tone anniversary compilation created by the band. The album, released on 5 October 2009, includes tribute bands from all over the world putting their own interpretations on some classic Madness tracks. Come and see one of Oxford's most legendary live acts and jump up and down to some of the ska scene's most recognisable hits!
