The Anti Nowhere League started up in 1980 in Royal Tunbridge Wells. They released their debut single 'Streets of London' b/w 'So What' in 1981. The single reached number 48 in the UK charts and would have probably got higher had it not been seized by the Police's Obscenity Squad due to the profanity-laden b-side. 'So What' has since become the band´s anthem and has been covered by Metallica who play the track regularly to this day in concert. This was followed up by their seminal debut album 'We are...the League' in 1982 on WXYZ Records. This was followed by their 'Live in Yugoslavia' album but the band has split by the end of the 1980's. Since reforming the band have released some incredible albums such as 'The Horse is Dead', 'Out Of Control', 'The Road to Rampton' and more. In 2017 the Anti-Nowhere League have released their latest album ´´League Style ( Loosen Up )' which includes their own unique take on classi Ska & Reggae tunes such as 'Long Shot Kick De Bucket', 'Johnny Too Bad', 'Suzanne Beware of the Devil' and more.

The Cost

The Cost

9 Feb 2026 - 20 Feb 2026

The doppler affection tour THE COST was formed in Valencia, Spain in 2023 when drummer El Estepario Siberiano, bassist Chris Attwell and guitarist & vocalist Peter Connolly met at their producer’s acclaimed recording studio. Chris and Peter performed in a jazz band that recorded at the studio and as El Estepario Siberiano explains he could hear them through the thin walls and was very impressed with their music and ability. He thought to himself “they have a jazzy style, but if they just added some gain to what they were doing, it could be metal”. So he asked them if they would want to give it a try and do what they do, but just add distortion. The result is the incredible Doppler Affection album. Bringing together three distinct musical backgrounds & cultures, this culmination promises to be one of the biggest sounds in music today. With Peter and Chris being graduates of the Berklee Music program in Valencia and El Estepario Siberiano’s infamous drumming skills, the band seamlessly blend their technical prowess with great songwriting ability. Power and virtuosity meet soaring vocals, haunting melodies, anthemic rock choruses, and brutal breakdowns. THE COST’s debut single “Not For Me” has over 6 million streams and views across all platforms and even garnered some airplay on Sirius Octane. Steve is also a wood sculptor and volunteer on the Sea Palling Independent Lifeboat, has written his autobiography All The Rest Is Propaganda- and has worked as a traditional Punch and Judy performer using the name Professor Ignorant. Steve is now performing with his new band Slice Of Life. A far cry from the aggression of Crass, nevertheless compelling with powerful songs delivered in an acoustic style. Impossible to categorise, Slice Of Life's music is up-front and soul-baringly personal. It's a mixture of songs and spoken word that draws you in and stays with you long after the final note has been played. Debut album Love And A Lamp-post was released on Overground records in late 2014, surprising many with its honesty and change of style for Steve. A new bassist followed in early 2015, along with new songs and extensive touring all over the UK, as well as dates in Finland, and festival slots at Rebellion, Wickerman and Something Else A Bit North.

Tygers Of Pan Tang X Demon

Tygers Of Pan Tang X Demon

29 Apr 2026 - 1 May 2026

Robb Weir is never a man to take what he has for granted. Having led the Tygers since their first album through a plethora of line-up changes, he recognises that the current band are probably the strongest since they were at the forefront of the NWOBHM. The original band, who made 4 albums for MCA records, survived the unexpected departure of Jess Cox to run Neat records and later John Sykes, who was bound for Thin Lizzy and a multi-million seller with Whitesnake. What they didn’t survive was their greatest commercial success with the album ‘The Cage’. However, Weir, ever the optimist, formed a new version of the band to play the old material and write songs that would represent this ‘new’ Tygers. The backbone of the band - Craig Ellis on drums together with Jack Meille on vocals have now been together for considerably longer than the first Tygers and were joined by Francesco Marras on guitar and Huw Holding on bass for their 2023 album ‘Bloodlines’. 2024 saw the release of both a new live album ‘Live Blood’ and reimagining of the album that put the Tygers back on the rock and roll rails - ‘Animal Instinct’. A new album is expected in 2026.
Jim Bob

Jim Bob

13 Mar 2026 - 28 Mar 2026

Jim Bob was born to two parents Frank and Jenny. Jenny was a singer, long distance swimmer and speed skater, while Frank was a theatre stage manager and carpenter. So, as show business, showing off and to a lesser extent carpentry was in the blood, Jim set out on the yellow brick road to fame and fortune. Following years of pop struggle Jim would release his first records with the band Jamie Wednesday, whose horn section Jim would work with again fumfty years later as a solo artist (when Jim was reading a book about learning to play the recorder and discovered it was written by Jamie Wednesday sax player Simon). After Jamie Wednesday Jim Bob formed Carter The Unstoppable Sex Machine with guitarist Fruitbat. Together as Carter they would have 14 top 40 singles and four top ten albums (including a number one), selling over a million records and touring the world. With Carter, Jim Bob would become known for his socially aware pop lyrics and in particular his use of puns. Carter split in 1997 but reformed ten years later for two massive sell out, life affirming gigs that would lead to more sell out Carter shows in 2008 and 2009. In 2011 they headlined the Beautiful Days festival in Devon and three more Carter gigs followed in 2012: Glasgow, Leeds & London. Finally in 2014, the last Carter shows were announced: A headline slot at the Bearded Theory Festival, a BBC 6music live performance from Maida Vale and two last hurrahs in London. The 5,000 capacity Brixton Academy gig sold out in minutes. Outside of Carter Jim Bob has had a long and varied solo career. He has released eight albums solo and with his discopoppunk band Jim's Super Stereoworld. Jim's autobiography 'Goodnight Jim Bob On The Road With Carter The Unstoppable Sex Machine' was published by Cherry Red Books in 2004 to critical acclaim. Jim has written songs for Ian Dury and for the 2006 Barbican production of Mark Ravenhill's Dick Whittington & His Cat, directed by Edward Hall and starring Trigger from Only Fools and Horses. In August 2010 he made his Edinburgh Fringe debut in the Ward and White musical 'Gutted, A Revenger's Musical'. His seventh solo album 'A Humpty Dumpty Thing' came with a mini novel 'Word Count', which Jim adapted as a screenplay for a Hollywood production company. His eighth solo album 'What I Think About When I Think About You' was recorded with 26-piece The Mystery Fax Machine Orchestra. Jim Bob has written four novels; 'Storage Stories' (Ten Forty Books), 'Driving Jarvis Ham'(Harper Collins), the award winning best seller 'The Extra Ordinary Life of Frank Derrick, Age 81' (Pan Macmillan) and its follow up 'Frank Derrick's Holiday Of A Lifetime' (Pan Macmillan), published under the name J.B. Morrison and translated into French, Italian, German and Dutch.

Voivod + Midnight

Voivod + Midnight

9 Jun 2026 - 13 Jun 2026

Voivod Very few bands survive for four decades. Even fewer are those that continue to reach new creative heights, long after legendary status has been achieved. Voïvod were never like other bands: even as the thrash metal scene exploded in the early ‘80s, the Jonquière, Québec crew stood apart, both as unique visionaries and as proud subverters of the metallic norm. From early prog-thrash classics like Killing Technology and Dimension Hatröss through to the psychedelic explorations of The Outer Limits, Voïvod have been standard bearers for individuality and creative freedom for nearly 40 years. Midnight Midnight is a band fronted by one Athenar, aka Jamie Walters, a guy who has had his hand in practically anything metal coming out of Cleveland over the years. Originally just a for-fun side project, Midnight has developed into a full-fledged band, and the formula is simple -- raw, NWOBHM-inspired fare, with heavy influences from bands like Tank, Motorhead, and a bit of early Venom as well. It's certainly not complex, and there's really not a lot of variation from song to song or album to album, yet there aren't a lot of bands playing this style these days and Midnight is surprisingly effective and entertaining. Remarkably, they sound better and tighter than ever.

Haze and Tiger Moth Tales

Haze and Tiger Moth Tales

20 Dec 2026 - 20 Dec 2026

Haze Despite building their reputation as a progressive rock band, Haze have always drawn on a wide variety of influences, ranging from pop, rock, folk, and metal to meandering psychedelic jams & tightly structured prog epics. Formed in Sheffield in the late 1970s by brothers Chris & Paul McMahon, they established their reputation as one of the hardest working underground bands of the 80s and have continued to perform regularly ever since, including weekly live-streamed concerts during Lockdown. Their latest studio album, The Water's Edge, was reviewed in Prog magazine: "The result is the best sounding Haze album yet, with the band free to concentrate on playing the music, and the inevitable constraints on studio time also helping to bring out the free-flowing, seat-of-the-pants improvisation which has made Haze one of the best live acts around." It's also their fastest-selling album to date, proving that Haze's legendary reputation is richly deserved. Tiger Moth Tales Tiger Moth Tales is essentially the brain child of Nottinghamshire based musician and writer Peter Jones, who has been involved in the music industry performing around the UK and recording his own material since the late 90s. At fifteen months Pete lost his sight due to Retinoblastoma. From an early age he was into all things musical and at the age of four had his first piano. Peter composed from an early age, usually in the form of improvisations which he would capture on his cassette recorder.
John Hackett Band

John Hackett Band

10 Oct 2026 - 7 Nov 2026

John Hackett has been a much-loved and admired figure in the progressive rock scene since the mid-70’s; best-known for his flute work with his brother, former Genesis guitarist, Steve Hackett on albums such as Voyage of The Acolyte, Sketches of Satie and Please Don’t Touch alongside his own solo albums Checking Out Of London, Another Life and The Piper Plays His Tune.
Franck Carducci and The Fantastic Squad
The first album Oddity was full of promises for the start of an epic journey, but it is on stage where he starts to carve his signature – costumes, make-up, psychedelic atmospheres, humour and sensuality. Yes, you think of Genesis, of Alice Cooper and David Bowie, of Led Zeppelin and Pink-Floyd too. But eventually, you will no longer think of anybody else. Following the release of the highly anticipated 'Torn Apart', featuring special guest Steve Hackett (Genesis), the 'Tearing the Tour Apart' hit the road in Europe and Franck reinforced his show as one of the most irresistible in the rock scene. 2017 saw the release of a live DVD/BluRay of the tour, which, after about 100 dates, ended with a standing ovation on stage of the Loreley 'Night of the Prog' festival in front of 6000 people. Carducci, as Master of Ceremonies, leads his Rock n Roll Circus where each of his players embodies a side of his music. Who can explain how a 12 string guitar extra neck would be added to a bass guitar, how a powerful guitar riff would go with a hot belly dance, or a Mellotron solo would end up in a duel with a didgeridoo? Who can also explain how Achilles, guitar and sword in hand, would kidnap a sensual Alice from her Wonderland? However, let them pick you up and take you in the palm of their hands – you won’t want to leave until the very last note of the concert. Your senses will not be given a second of rest while these characters take you to a place where dreams are kings, emotions are queens and musical genres are crossed with no borders.

The Far Meadow and Mário Lopes

19 Jul 2026 - 19 Jul 2026

THE FAR MEADOW Returning to The 1865 for their first co-headline in three years, The Far Meadow bring their own distinctive form of fusion-inspired symphonic progressive rock, already familiar to Solent Area Prog fans after several local appearances. Founder member and keyboardist Eliot Minn's creative partnership with Keith Buckman (bass) and Denis Warren (guitar) began in 2011, after they joined to refresh a previous line-up of the band. They have since performed several headlines and festivals including A New Day Festival, Cambridge Rock Festival, Danfest, Fusion, HRH Prog, Prog the Forest, Prog for Peart, Resonance, and Summer's End, drawing on their album releases Given the Impossible (2016) and Foreign Land (2019). 2026 sees the introduction of two new members. Bringing a new voice to the storytelling, singer songwriter LuLu Ash is an established solo artist with an array of atmospheric single releases and an album A Trick of the Light (2024). Behind the drums, Aidan Marsden's percussion expertise and experience of diverse musical forms ranges across the classical repertoire, through accompanying singer-songwriters such as Gaja, to the black metal of Thing. Performing a good proportion of unreleased material, The Far Meadow will of course play some more familiar songs from their past releases thefarmeadow.bandcamp.com MRIO LOPES Mário Lopes and his band perform his debut instrumental fusion album, presenting a palette of multiple styles that the artist uses as source of inspiration, unveiling a strange and bizarre creature, as the name (QUIMERA - CHIMERA) states. Tigran Hamasyan, Snarky Puppy and Dream Theater, are some of the influences the artist refers to when describing the music presented in Quimera. This album invites the listener to explore a fusion of world music styles that encompass progressive rock, metal, jazz, afro-cuban, brazilian, middle eastern, as well as balkan music, resulting in a ethnic and cinematic landscape. This sonic landscape conveys a story about a group of animals which, after suffering at the hands of mankind, come together to form a super entity called Quimera that will execute a reckoning over the human race. On this show, Mário invites the audience to participate in a powerful and energetic musical experience, filled with complex rhythms and odd-time signatures, which are characteristic of his composition style.

Maquee Square Heroes: A Tribute to Fish-Era Marillion
"We are going to play you part of our new album. It will only feature two songs: one called Side One and the other called Side Two." Marquee Square Heroes invite you to relive the moments that made marillion one of the biggest bands in the world Marillion still regularly undertake a series of shows around the UK at Christmas. Take the opportunity to transport yourself back to the very beginning of this Christmas tradition that sits slightly outside many other more traditional seasonal spectaculars. By the end of 1984, Marillion had completed their second album and toured to great acclaim with the Fugazi album. Demand to see the band was huge, and a multitude of pirated bootleg live albums began circulating amongst their fans. EMI decided to release a live "mini-album," available at a reduced price. And thus was born Real to Reel, a live album that really captures the essence and spirit of the band at that time. A few Christmas gigs were then booked, and the Real to Reel Tour was undertaken. No one could have anticipated what would happen to Marillion in 1985. The decision to release Real to Reel enabled the band to concentrate on writing the album that became the biggest-selling of their career: Misplaced Childhood. Achieving Number 1 status in the album charts, it provided massive exposure with top 5 singles chart positions for Kayleigh and Lavender, and a strong chart position for Heart of Lothian too. Kayleigh was only kept from the top of the charts by a worthy charity single. You couldn’t turn the radio on in 1985 without hearing that classic song of lost love and lost opportunities. On this tour, not only did Marillion play an exceptional set of songs from their catalogue, but they also played 17 minutes of the new album live for the first time. It blew those who witnessed it away. This year, MARQUEE SQUARE HEROES will recreate those shows, performing not only a set that reflects that tour, but also the entire classic Misplaced Childhood album, along with other classics not performed on that tour. Tickets will be limited, so buy now to secure your place.

The Rezillos

The Rezillos

7 May 2026 - 16 Jan 2027

The Rezillos burst forth upon the rock scene in 1976, having gathered together at Edinburgh College of Art. Through a shared love of Sixties Garage Rock and the Spectoresque Girl Group glam of The Ronettes and The Shangri-Las, The Rezillosfound themselves inadvertently caught up in the Punk or New Wave movement. Their debut single, I Can't Stand My Baby, shot them to underground fame initially via airings on John Peel's radio show. Their classic singles My Baby Does Good Sculptures, Top of the Pops and Destination Venus signalled critically acclaimed milestones for the band. Their landmark album of 1978 Can't Stand the Rezillos reached the top 10 in the UK album chart. They appeared twice on the legendary Old Grey Whistle Test and hit the Top Twenty with their hit single Top of the Pops, a satirical swipe at the UK pop music show of the same name. Once the band had achieved chart success it was inevitable that they should appear on the same show! They followed up that same year with a live recording, Mission Accomplished... But the Beat Goes On, and promptly broke up to the anguish of fans and music critics alike.
