The Art School

The Art School is a unique centre for the arts in Glasgow. The biggest international acts and those in the first stages of individual experimentation will find that music, performance and artistic expression are represented and nurtured here in incomparable style. Amid the changing cultural landscape of Glasgow, The Art School has maintained both a physical and creative presence, flourishing within its Scott Street walls, where it has boldly remained since 1930. Values of innovation, inclusivity and quality have enabled the venue, and those beliefs made manifest within its structure, to remain and regenerate. In its most recent incarnation The Art School has developed its Audio-Visual capabilities and production possibilities to ensure that the most ambitious thoughts and projects can be regularly realised with a quality of sound, light and space to match expectation. The Art School serves as both the beating heart of the Glasgow School of Art Students’ Association and a world-class music and events venue, meaning that whatever your passion you will find a home in this most iridescent institution. The Vic Bar & Cafe at The Art School is situated opposite the historic Mackintosh building. The Vic, as it's affectionately known, was built in 1928 and retains it's iconic original facade. After an extensive refurbishment in 2013, the Vic has become one of the best equipped contemporary dining, music and arts spaces in Glasgow. Serving up a delicious and affordable selection of international cuisine with South African, Vietnamese, Indian and Italian flourishes.

The Dream Syndicate

30 Jan 2026 - 1 Feb 2026

Reformed 80s indie rock act. One of the most celebrated bands to come out of the Los Angeles' Paisley Underground scene of the '80s, the Dream Syndicate were different than most of their peers. While bands such as the Rain Parade and the Three O'Clock owed a debt to psychedelia, and the Long Ryders and Green on Red were informed in different ways by roots rock, the Dream Syndicate clearly adored the intricate wordplay and edgy energy of Highway 61 Revisited-era Bob Dylan, as well as the noisy guitars and bracing darkness of the Velvet Underground.
The Bug Club

The Bug Club

25 Jul 2025 - 19 Dec 2025

The Bug Club's name does a good job of introducing the band and their music: a tight-knit, collaborative effort focussed on telling tales of the everyday that we often take for granted, shot through with humour and riffs-a-plenty. Comprising the creative trio of Sam Willmett (guitar/vocals), Tilly Harris (bass/vocals) & Dan Matthew (drums), The Bug Club formed in 2016 in the little-known rock n' roll hotbed that is Caldicot, Monmouthshire. The band were signed by Bingo Records in Autumn 2020, and released their first single 'We Don't Need Room For Lovin'' in Feb 2021. EPs Launching Moondream One and Pure Particles followed, along with standalone releases Intelectuals and Two Beauties. Initially championed by BBC 6 Music's Marc Riley, along with Adam Walton and Huw Stephens on Radio Cymru, The Bug Club have since earned the support of DJs, fellow artists and press worldwide. Sold-out tours across the UK and in Europe paved the way for a 2023 which will see the band play further afield to an ever-growing loyal fanbase, who can look forward to a number of new releases from the trio this year. Three groovy peas in a far out pod!

Been Stellar

Been Stellar

19 Aug 2025 - 21 Aug 2025

Been Stellar is what you get when you leave the youth alone in a metropolis; they grow up. They make noise. Their songs are formed and lived somewhere on Broadway, on Hester, on 34th, in Union Square, on the bridge, in the gutter, and under your shoe. The trivial street scenes lipsticked by well-loved decades are fully recognized in Been Stellar’s hail of guitar tones and insistent lyrical earnesty. Crackly, bright and distorted - stories of violence, love, and a new, un-glamorous, New York City.
Hailing from the suburbs of Detroit, the beaches of Los Angeles, and Brazil by way of Sydney, Nando Dale (guitar), Laila Wayans (drums), Sam Slocum (vocals), Nico Brunstein (bass) and Skyler St. Marks (guitar) have positioned themselves at the glimmering rotten center of tonight’s rock and roll. Each member so distinctly themselves, it must be assumed that such a diverse and unlikely gang were drawn tight together in their first year of university by nothing short of serendipitous fortune and a shared, waggish sense of humor.
They are a band of friends - sharing, crying, fighting, and kissing- wreaking havoc together and laughing like how only the jaunty youth can afford to. Been Stellar’s arrangements come textured, swooping - pushing past you at a downtown pace and off to find a better night. The songs are of their own time and space, offering a New York City - Been Stellar’s New York City - the sounds of growing up young.
Ezra Furman

Ezra Furman

1 Feb 2026 - 4 Feb 2026

Ezra Furman can feel the future barrelling toward the now. Inside the world of her new album, All of Us Flames, the end of the patriarchal capitalist empire seems both imminent and inevitable, a turn down a path we can't see yet but can't avoid, either. The heat of a different world throbs just behind the skin of this one; all around us, openings to it flicker. They vanish almost as soon as they've appeared. But they keep appearing, as if daring us to hold them open, to widen them until they turn into a way. A singer, songwriter, and author whose incendiary music has soundtracked the Netflix show Sex Education, Furman has for years woven together stories of queer discontent and unlikely, fragile intimacies. She has a knack for zeroing in on the light that sparks when struggling people find each other and ease each other's course. All of Us Flames widens that focus to a communal scope, painting transformative connections among people who unsettle the stories power tells to sustain itself.
