The Country Wife

The Country Wife

7 Oct 2026 - 10 Oct 2026

Sex, lies, and scandal rule the town. Enter Harry Horner: a charismatic playboy who spreads a daring rumour that he's impotent, granting him unprecedented access to society's most "respectable" wives. While husbands drop their guard, Horner drops his... reputation, and chaos follows. Among those caught up in the intrigue is Margery Pinchwife, a wide-eyed country girl newly arrived in the city, whose curiosity and awakening independence threaten to expose everyone's secrets. The Country Wife receives a bold 1980s makeover, complete with big hair, shoulder pads, and a pumping pop soundtrack. Wycherley's razor-sharp satire proves that hypocrisy, desire, and bad behaviour never go out of fashion. Please note: due to adult themes and innuendo, this production is recommended for ages 14+.
The Dresser

The Dresser

15 Jul 2026 - 18 Jul 2026

Presented by Southwick Players Directed by H Reeves Based on author Ronald Harwoods own experience as Dresser to Sir Donald Wolfitt, this poignant, heart-warming drama tells the story of an ageing actors personal assistant who struggles to keep his charges life together. The play captures the sentiment, the bitchiness and the anecdotal backstage as Norman strives to prepare Sir for his 227th performance of King Lear. Affectionate and comical, this love letter to the theatre is an intelligent glimpse behind the curtain.
Cleo, Camping, Emmanuelle and Dick

Cleo, Camping, Emmanuelle and Dick

10 Jun 2026 - 13 Jun 2026

Cleo, Camping, Emmanuelle and Dick. Whats the link? Of course, its Carry On! Cor Blimey! We all know what that means. Sid James carrying on. Kenneth Williams getting outraged. Barbara Windsor giggling. Blackpool naughty postcard humour. But this play deals with the behind the scenes shenanigans of these much loved comedy stars and as well as the comedy, theres some of the gritty reality and drama of less than glamorous showbiz life. In his caravan dressing room, Sid lives up to his lecherous screen persona with Kenneth disapproving of his goings on. But when Sid meets Barbara, the loud-mouthed blonde, he finds someone who gives as good as she gets. This play combines Carry On humour with the touching story of Sid and Barbaras relationship: theres a lot more to this show than Carry On. Contains adult themes. Not suitable for children.
