Of vital importance to the development of drama was the entrance of the first English actresses upon the English stage. April De Angelis has taken five famous figures Nell Gwyn, Elizabeth Farley, Rebecca Marshall, Doll Common and Mary Betterton and given us a fascinating look at the precarious lot of actresses at the time. A moving and often comic account of the true lives of Restoration actresses, with some earthy language!

The property market lies at the heart of Dealing with Clair. Mike and Liz are anxious to secure the best price for their London house. Having accepted an offer from an elderly couple, they are then faced with the dilemma posed by a higher cash bid from the mysterious James. Should they do the honourable thing and stick with the first offer or ditch the elderly couple and take the cash? Clair is the estate agent caught in the middle of this dog-eat-dog world, where money talks and traditional notions of morality and ethics dont apply. The play is based loosely on the case of estate agent Suzy Lamplugh, who disappeared in 1986 while showing a client round a property. Her body has never been found. The play offers no solution to the mystery but presents a plausible explanation of the circumstances surrounding her disappearance.
