Republica

Republica

18 Sept 2025 - 27 Sept 2025

Republica are back and have been very active recently. They released their highly acclaimed new EP ‘Christiana Obey’ and promoted it with a sold out UK tour and selected European festival appearances including the prestigious Isle Of Wight Festival, Norway’s Midnattsrocken Festival, The Welsh GB Rally and Hanover's Ferryman Festival in Germany. Republica dominated the charts in the Nineties and exploded back in 2013 with a new EP, UK tour and festival slots. The band's iconic and fiery front woman, Saffron, Tim Dorney (keyboard) and Johnny Male (guitar) rode the Britpop wave of female-fronted rock bands like Sleeper, Elastica, Garbage and Lush, injecting it with their self-dubbed 'techno-pop, punk rock' sound. Between 1996 and 1999, Republica sold an incredible 3 million albums and clinched Top 5 slots in the UK, America and Europe with platinum sales across the globe, while their hit single ‘Ready to Go’ soared to Number One in many countries. The band has never really been away, with their music becoming the soundtrack to the past few decades – ‘Ready to Go’ featured on more than 300 films and adverts and Wes Craven selected their hit single, ‘Drop Dead Gorgeous’ for the soundtrack to his hit movie Scream and invited them to perform at its Hollywood premiere. With her unique sound and iconic image, it is only natural that Saffron has been in demand from a host of the world's biggest music acts, including The Prodigy, who used her vocals on ‘Fuel My Fire’ from their critically-acclaimed ‘Fat of the Land’ album. Saffron also worked with The Cure on single ‘Just Say Yes’; collaborated with Junkie XL for his 2003 album ‘Radio JXL: A Broadcast from the Computer Hell Cabin’ and scored a number one dance single with him; she duetted with Gary Numan, recorded ‘Pork-U-Pine’ with Jeff Beck for his album, ‘Jeff’; worked with DJ Carl Cox on ‘Get What You Paid 4’ and also worked with artists including Jah Wobble - who wrote ‘World Of You’ for her - N-Joi - performing on their hit, ‘Anthem’ - Mark Moore, St Etienne and The Shamen. Republica have been touring constantly over the last couple of years with a sell out 20th anniversary tour co-headlining with Space, performances in Dubai, Israel and Germany and a sell out UK tour with Sir Bob Geldolf’s Boomtown Rats. Their first 2 albums are being reissued this year as Deluxe Double and Triple CDs to be followed by the highly anticipated new album.

The Real People

The Real People, from Liverpool, England, were one of the very first bands to play what is today known as Britpop, and have been quoted by Oasis as being one of their major influences. They were formed in 1988 by brothers Christopher and Anthony Griffiths, the original line up consisted of Chris Griffiths (guitar and vocals), Tony Griffiths (bass and vocals), Dave Reilly (drums)(ex China Crisis), Jay Norton (keyboards)(ex Its Immaterial) and Gordon Morgan (guitar)(ex Black). Tony Elson (drums) replaced Dave Reilly (and he was replaced by Garry Ford) and Gordon Morgan was replaced by Sean Simpson (guitar) (later to be replaced by Alan Gillibrand and then by Ian 'Sitar'). The current line up is Tony & Chris Griffths (bass guitar vocals, guitar and vocals), Martin Lappin (guitar) and Tony McGuigan (drums).
The Holloways

The Holloways

1 Oct 2025 - 5 Oct 2025

Formed in 2004 in a pub on the Holloway Road, Alfie, Bryn, Rob and Dave set about creating a rabblerousing, uplifting sound that captured the energy of life in the UK and beyond, thus became The Holloways. Releasing their debut album in 2006 the band, who were fiercely independent, scored a string of hits with Number 1’s on the Independent Release Charts for 4 singles and their debut album, along with a total of 20 weeks spent in the Official UK Charts and countless hours of primetime radio play. Although they suffered some bad times, most notably losing founding member Rob Skipper and a fire in which they lost a lot of equipment, they never let that get in the way of generating the music to make you feel better. You’ll remember them for Generator, but you’ll stick with them for the vibes and the good times. Now, the energy and the bond in the band has seen them reignite passions with an upcoming tour of intimate venues taking the band back to some of the places it all began, for their first live shows back in some years.

Promoters, 1 Pod

11 Dec 2025 - 13 Dec 2025

With almost 40 years' combined experience promoting UK music festivals, James Scarlett (2000trees and ArcTanGent) and Gavin McInally (Damnation) don't just pull back the curtain on the industry, they rip it down and bulldoze through the stage, right into the dressing rooms. What does it take to book Enter Shikari or Opeth? What are the exact costs of setting up a small town on a farm for pop punk fans or transforming an industrial estate into a mecca for metal devotees? And is there such a thing as a booking agent you can trust? With startling honesty, rarely seen in a business full of chancers, Gav and James talk about the highs, the lows and the downright ridiculous - of surviving, and thriving, in the promoting world. Presented by Crosstown Concerts. This is a 16+ event (U18s accompanied by a paying adult)
