Goldie Lookin' Chain

21 Jun 2025 - 20 Dec 2025

Coming straight out of Newport The GLC are officially Britain’s biggest rap group. Known for classics like “Guns don’t kill people rappers do”, The GLC started almost by accident around the turn of the century with Eggsy’s impromptu rap about his tracksuit over a serious piece of music Rhys was working on in the studio. Adam Hussain, Billy Webb, Mystkal, the Maggot, 2hats and Mike Balls convinced Rhys to record the rap. Fuelled by Lambrini, fags, Chicken Tikka Massala and weed they all took to the mic and The GLC’s first album “Don’t Blame the Chain” was born. And so it began, the journey which has so far seen The GLC rise to the top of the charts, perform around the world and at every major festival in the Western Hemisphere and make millions of people laugh along the way. Now many years since that first rap about Eggsy’s tracksuit, the boys are still keeping it real in the rap game and hold the title of the most successful UK rap act ever. To date The GLC have released 18 albums… and amazingly none of them have died yet. You knows it! GLC (Live) plus special guests

Peat & Diesel

Peat & Diesel

19 Jul 2025 - 25 Oct 2025

The story began when three Stornoway Cove's (Innes, Uilly and Boydie) met up in the house to have the craic on a Saturday night playing music with just the dog and the cat watching. After a few tunes getting thrown across the room Boydie stated muttering a few sentences. As he is a man of few words no attention was really given to him until he shouted 'Quick, line me out!' Not a second to spare a set of old broken headphones were cable tied to a guitar amp and out came a few cobwebs followed shortly after with a sound nobody had ever heard before. What came next was five gallons of lyrics, verse after verse, song after song Peat & Diesel was born! The songs won't make much sense to the average person, but the person behind the lyrics isn't your average man so if you have a listen and you can relate to it you are a special breed! Peat & Diesel Light my Byre takes you on a journey to the heart of the Western Isles, where #peatlemania was born. You might have time for a brandy in the 'Airidh' but don't miss your ride in Calum Dan's Transit Van, we ain't stopping till we lose the water!

Chantel McGregor

Chantel McGregor

27 May 2025 - 1 Nov 2025

The Blues came calling first, but rock was always waiting around the corner. Well it would be, wouldn’t it? Coming from the deep south, it was inevitable, but living in the deep south of a major Yorkshire City, there’s a gritty hard edge to life! A female guitar prodigy, Chantel was told by a major label that she had a "great voice, but girls don't play guitar like that!" Wisely ignoring their comments, she enrolled at the Leeds College of Music and became the first student in the college’s history, to achieve a 100% pass mark at BTEC, with 18 distinctions. Chantel then pursued further education and left with a First Class Honours degree in Popular Music and a coveted prize, the college’s musician of the year award. Chantel released her highly anticipated second album, Lose Control, in October 2015 on her independent boutique label Tis Rock Music, this being the follow up to her critically acclaimed 2011 debut album, Like No Other.
Connor Selby

Connor Selby

30 Jul 2025 - 30 Jul 2025

I have been watching this young troubadour Connor Selby's progress for a few years now after I first spotted him at the 100 Club. I find his grasp of and feel for the Blues very soulful and deep. One of the brightest talents on the UK blues scene. He has been voted Young Artist of the Year at the UK Blues Awards for the last 4 years. He already has an impressive venue checklist, including Wembley Stadium, where he opened for The Who in July 2019 and has since gone on to play Hyde Park, London, with Pearl Jam, Stereophonics and Johnny Marr in the summer of 2022. Connor has also opened for such luminaries as Robert Cray and Beth Hart, each time gathering fresh admirers. Here's a review from Jace Media:: " There are many great blues singer guitarists out there right now, including the likes of old Slow Hand himself, Walter Trout and the player who's probably currently the man of the moment, Joe Bonamassa but believe me, Connor Selby is right up there with them and is one of the very best." LIGHTNING THREADS - another band that blew me away when I first witnessed them at the 100 Club., they are a Blues-Rock power trio hailing from Sheffield, influenced by the great rock musicians of another time. Often compared to The Black Keys, Gary Clark Jr. Cream & The Doors.. Featuring face-melting guitars, groove-ridden basslines, and a multi-instrumentalist drummer simultaneously playing keys, they make a refreshing change.

In 2015 Matt hit the studio to record his second album, featuring Andy Norris on Drums, Roger Inniss on bass guitar and produced by Stuart Dixon. Lilly Hiatt

Lilly Hiatt

20 Oct 2025 - 26 Oct 2025

Lilly Hiatt's love of the '90s alt-rock she was raised on shines through on Trinity Lane in the distressed guitars and urgent backbeats. She cites the Pixies, Breeders, Dinosaur Jr., and her favourites, Pearl Jam as influences, but there is also something distinctly Americana lurking in the songs. After moving out of an ex's house, Hiatt settled into a new apartment off of Trinity Lane in her East Nashville neighbourhood and went on tour with friend John Moreland to the West Coast and back. The intensely personal, autobiographical album was written largely upon her return, in isolation, facing the issues she escaped while on the road. Every time she wanted a man, she picked up her guitar. Every time she wanted a drink, she picked up her guitar. Hiatt says, 'Love will take you to the darkest places but also the most honest places if you let it. Learning how to love myself is something I've always been lousy with, and I spent some time on that. I thought about my sobriety, what that means to me, the struggles I'd had throughout the years, since I was a 27-year-old and hung up my toxic drinking habit. I thought about my mother, who took her own life when I was a baby, not far from my age at 30 years old, and I related to her more than ever. As you can see, there was plenty of time spent on my own. I didn't talk to that many folks, albeit a few close friends, and leaned into my family. I stayed away from men, and danced alone in the evenings, looking out my window observing my humble and lively neighbourhood. I found power in being by myself. I found peace in the people I was surrounded with we didn't really know one another, but we smiled when passed on the street. One time I almost rear-ended an older woman in her car backing out of my driveway and I said, Oh man, I'm just not used to any cars coming around this bend. She replied, This is our little hideout, baby, And it really was.' She continues, 'After a while, I had all these songs to play, and wanted to share them. I wanted to get out of town to get some distance from everything, so after an ongoing conversation with Michael Trent, I took my band to Johns Island, SC and we holed up for a few weeks. I poured my heart out, and trusted them with it, and these guys gave it right back. I think we all understood what it's like to question home, intention, demons, love I think most people understand that.' Lilly Hiatt returned with Trinity Lane in August 2017. The 12-song set was produced by Michael Trent of Shovels & Rope and engineered by Andy Dixon at Trent's Studio Bees in Johns Island, SC. In addition to her backing band, Trent is featured as a musician throughout, and is joined by his wife and Shovels & Rope partner Cary Ann Hearst for backing vocals on Everything I Had. 'Lilly is as real and honest of a songwriter as they come,' says Trent. 'Fearless and thoughtful and a total joy to be around.' NPR Music is premiering the full album as a First Listen, stating, 'On Trinity Lane, the third album by this fixture of Nashville's indie scene and first for New West she's devoted to excruciatingly revealing expression, deftly manipulating the tone and perspective of her songwriting from track to track. Her treatment of pain can, remarkably, feel both considered and diaristic.' They continue, 'Her willingness to portray herself in moments of anger or neediness that others might deem unseemly, particularly coming from a woman, and to examine gender divisions in emotional labor at close range, is courageous and affecting.' Paste Magazine previously premiered the video for the album's single The Night David Bowie Died, exclaiming that Trinity Lane is 'going to be one for the books'. Of the song, Hiatt offered, 'The night David Bowie died, I was in disbelief. I wanted to talk to someone, but it was too late to make a phone call. I cried quietly and went to bed. The next day, I picked up my guitar and hit record on Garage Band. I started to sing and those were the first words that came out. I felt like Bowie was giving me a little gift.'

Emma Hunter album launch

Emma Hunter album launch

12 Sept 2025 - 12 Sept 2025

Emma Hunter launches her highly anticipated new album, Yolanda. One of Oxford's best acts, Emma's smoky, agile vocals weave evocative stories over ornate and occasionally looped guitar, accompanied by the elegant drums of Tom Bruce, and more recently Hayley Wright (Harry Angel, Beaker) on bass. The duo has won plaudits across the county, including song-of-the-year awards from both Nightshift magazine and radio show The Melting Pot, but has also received critical acclaim from far further afield. The Other Side Reviews sums up the Hunter sound perfectly, "Taking inspiration from artists like Portishead, The Shangri-Las, Imogen Heap, and the soundtracks of David Lynch films, UK-based Emma Hunter skates along flamenco music with a dark art-rock sound". Support comes from Pet Twin, whose intense, cathartic songs skirt the edges of goth gloom on their way to pop pleasure - "A typical track merges thick treacly bass, heart-wrenching vocals, and euphoric keys, so that youre not sure whether to dance, weep, or collapse in the corner" Nightshift - and Barricane's femme fatale folk - "Mystical, drama-laden female harmonies-led trip-pop is going to haunt your every midnight hour" Nightshift.
Wombo

Wombo

6 Nov 2025 - 6 Nov 2025

Wombo are back! The Kentucky post punk trio have a a new album - Danger in Fives - and we're thrilled to be bringing them back to Oxford for another mesmerising show of taught post punk with some of the best guitar work you're likely to see. Wombo's third album, Danger in Fives, isnt a reintroduction; it's a reminder. Throughout Danger in Fives, Wombo the Louisville-bred three-piece of Sydney Chadwick (bass/vocals), Cameron Lowe (guitar), and Joel Taylor (drums) not only enhance their formula, but routinely perfect it. The 11 tracks on Danger in Fives fine tune Wombo's enchanting alchemy while firmly pushing the band into new territory. Maintaining the confidence of Wombo's last full-length, 2022's Fairy Rust, Danger in Fives reconnects with the intuition that led their wild experiments on the 2020 debut LP Blossomlooksdownuponus. Wombo's gauzy take on post-punk characterized by a looming darkness which Chadwick jokes is inevitable in their music floats between unexpected riffs and lived-in melodies. This show will be in the front bar of the Bullingdon, which is wheelchair accessible, and is all ages - with under 14s accompanied by an adult. Supports TBC!
