Their appeal crosses all manner of boundaries, attracting a significantly younger crowd to their shows as well as pleasing the ears of older fans. Back Porch

Back Porch

20 Jun 2025 - 20 Jun 2025

A wonderfully eclectic, acoustic blues band who play a mix of originals and covers. Back Porch are one of the most popular bands in the UK festival circuit, known to many of you for their regular appearances at The Swanage Blues festival where they play at multiple venues. The line up is as quirky as the songs: washboard, bass drum, acoustic and resonator guitars and wailing harmonica. Their own material is full of humour and played with passion and energy. Thoroughly entertaining BluesmattersA breath of fresh air Evening Star, IpswichThe Suffolk music scene has been crying out for a group like Back Porch for as long as I can remember Stephen Foster, BBC Radio Suffolk "A whistle stop tour that's left everyone standing at the station, awaiting the next time they pull in" - Graham Munn, Rhythm & Booze

Dirt Road Band

Dirt Road Band

22 May 2025 - 15 Oct 2025

The Dirt Road Band is the brainchild of guitar legend Steve Walwyn, mainly known as the longest serving guitar player in Dr Feelgood (32 years). During this time, he has amassed a massive reputation as a guitar hero in the UK, Europe, and beyond. He says, "I'd always liked the idea of the power trio-stripping everything back to the basics. Guitar, bass, and drums. To help him in this he has recruited the services of drummer Ted Duggan - professional since the 60s, including stints with Badfinger and world techno giants Banco de Gaia. I'd worked with Ted before, Steve says "I knew he would fit the gig perfectly. He certainly does. Bass player Horace Panter is unavailable for this weekend so in his place steps Norman Watt-Roy, one of Britain's best-loved bass players. He is best known today for his work with The Blockheads and Wilko Johnson. Over his long career, however, he has worked with the Clash, Madness, Nick Lowe, The Selecter, Rodger Daltrey, and provided the original bass line for Frankie Goes to Hollywood's smash hit 'Relax'. This then is Steve's dream team rhythm section that swings as hard as it rocks. We have started to develop that musical telepathy that makes a band more than just the sum of its parts. It is a really thrilling time and keeps music alive.'

An Alice Armstrong show promises a soulful, genre-busting performance packed with world class musicianship and wry British repartee. Her personal and provocative content is heavily infused with soul, blues, funk, rock and jazz, and is served with an enigmatic performance reminiscent of the likes of B.B. King, Koko Taylor, Janis Joplin and Tina Turner (with a touch of Maria Callas), leaving the awed audience laughing, crying and tapping their feet in equal measure
Will Wild

Will Wild

15 Nov 2025 - 21 Nov 2025

Will Wilde has taken the harmonica way beyond its traditional blues roots since he first emerged on the music scene in 2010. Wilde's hard-edged harmonica steals the spotlight from the traditional blues rock guitar, with a sound that owes as much to Gary Moore as it does to Sonny Boy Williamson. "Im always looking to make new sounds with the harmonica, pushing its boundaries, trying to change people's perception of it. In fact Wilde has gone one step further and created his own signature "Wilde Tuned" harmonicas so he can play licks that werent possible before. They enable me to hold my own with any blues rock guitarist. Wilde has performed at blues clubs and festivals all over the World and has released four studio albums and one live album: Unleashed (2010), Raw Blues (2013), Live In Hamburg (2015), Bring It On Home (2018) and Bad Luck Friday (2022), as well as appearing as a guest harmonica player on albums by Walter Trout, Earl Thomas, Toby Lee, Dani Wilde, Marcus Malone, Krissy Matthews and Brave Rival. Wilde was nominated "Instrumentalist of the Year" in the UK Blues Awards 2024
