Canaan Cox

Canaan Cox

21 May 2026 - 30 May 2026

Canaan Cox is the definition of an entertainer. His music fuses contemporary country with the energy of pop and taste of R&B. It’s no surprise coming from such a musical household. Originally from NC, he grew up with his father blasting Conway Twitty records, his mother’s band was always touring the southeast, and 7 sisters ensuring he had a healthy dose of pop music. Canaan went on to earn a BFA in Musical Theatre rounding out a unique musical background that spills into everything he does from his original music to his live shows. After moving to Nashville and cutting his teeth on Broadway, Canaan was well prepared for what came next. In the Spring of 2021 as the pandemic subsided, Canaan slid Bobby Bones a coaster at his side-hustle waiter job. The radio and television personality loved what he heard and invited Canaan to appear on the Bobby Bones Show reaching over 9.2 million listeners and changing the course of his career. Canaan’s latest single “As You Leave” dropped in January 2022 and received marquee playlisting on Spotify including New Boots, Wild Country, Breakout Country, & Next from Nashville. Following the outpouring of support he was surprised on the Bobby Bones Show by having his song spotlighted on the Country Top 30 and offered the chance to open a show for Bobby Bones and the Raging Idiots.
The Dirty Nil

The Dirty Nil

27 Jun 2026 - 7 Jul 2026

The Dirty Nil play rock and roll. Loud, distorted, and out of control, they play like it's a fever they're trying to sweat out. Reveling in the din of distorted guitars, pounding drums, and desperately howled vocals, the Hamilton Ontario three-piece makes music for turntables and hi-fi's - music for dive bars and house parties - for beer drinking and joint smoking - for road trips and barbecues - for fighting and yelling and shouting and singing and screaming and howling - for sweating and bleeding - trying and failing and trying again anyways. Gravel-in-your guts, spit-in-your-eye, staggering, bloodthirsty rock and roll. They have two 7"s available that capture the snarl and destructive noise they create. The Dirty Nil play rock and roll - cause they couldn't do a damn thing else if they tried.

The Ex at Castle and Falcon

21 May 2026 - 21 May 2026

Supersonic Festival are very excited to welcome the ever-innovative underground experimentalists The Ex back to Birmingham. Emerging from Amsterdams political squats during the late 70s punk explosion, they quickly began pushing the limits of the genre, weaving in no-wave and noise influences before incorporating a wide array of ideas drawn from non-Western and non-rock sources. These include Hungarian and Turkish folk songs and, more recently, music from Ethiopia, Congo and Eritrea, while still maintaining the raw energy that motivated their formation. Using guitars, bass, drums and voice as their starting point, The Ex have continued to musically explore undiscovered areas right up to the present day. After all these years, some 28 albums and more than 2000 concerts the band continues to work as they did in when they began, completely independent of record companies, managers or roadies. Because of this 'do it yourself' work ethic The Ex is still a great example for other forward-thinking bands and musicians.

Lime Garden

2 Oct 2026 - 21 Oct 2026

Lime Garden are a four-piece band jumping over genre boundaries to create a sound that is uplifting yet somehow laid-back. It's a world of late-night conversations and observations that strike a chord. Lime Garden are signed to So Young Records. This is an 18+ event. (Photo ID Required)

Discharge

Discharge

16 Oct 2026 - 19 Dec 2026

“Can you hear the sound of an enormous door slamming in the depths of hell…?”Not only is this the chilling description given of a nuclear detonation during one of the sound-bite samples on the first Discharge album, but it’s also a perfect description of the Stoke, UK-based punk band that turned the world of underground music on its head with their primal bursts of uncompromising speed and aggression. Formed in the late Seventies Discharge changed the face of punk – and indeed extreme music itself – with their stunning ‘Realities Of War’ EP, a four-song outpouring of pure intensity that boiled punk down to its basic components of rage, frustration and violent rebellion. Discharge stumbled upon a sound that was so ugly, it was beautiful; so horrifying, it was irresistible – and it ushered in a whole new wave of gnarlier, nastier UK punk, and ultimately paved the way for hardcore and thrash.

Agriculture at Castle and Falcon

20 Jun 2026 - 20 Jun 2026

Extreme music has the ability to be a powerful mode of expression for feelings of absolute bliss, overwhelming love, and awe-inspiring sublimity. Extreme emotions no less and those which black metal quartetAgriculture, a recent signing to The Flenser, evokes with its ecstatic subversion of the sub-genres tropes. Daniel Meyer from the band was quoted when interviewed by The Fader as sayingAt its best, extreme music is about pushing every aspect of the musical experience towards something that feels like a limit. On a musical level, that might involve playing hella fast, super-dense textures, detuned guitars, impossible drumming, and screaming. But its also the live show, which can involve moshing, weird dancing, or just the act of listening to something so intense. In the past, even though a lot of artists have used these techniques to describe horrible aspects of the human experience, the live shows are often scenes of communal ecstasy. I bet that anyone who has ever been to a good black or death metal show can attest to the sense of catharsis and joy that comes from gathering to listen to such intense music. Staying a bird, staying independent, free if you will, for three decades, that takes skill and something else, something more like heart. Music journalist John Corbett on The Ex.

A Certain Ratio

A Certain Ratio

19 May 2026 - 25 Oct 2026

Formed in 1978 with a core line-up of Jez Kerr, Martin Moscrop and Donald Johnson, A Certain Ratio emerged from the hallowed grounds of the late 70s punk scene, and from that day on they’ve moved forwards with gleeful disregard for the boundaries of style and genre, their eye fixed firmly on constant progression. It’s an ethos that’s open-minded over all else, and that’s seen the band take everything from experimental electronica to vintage funk, and filter it through their own Mancunian lens.
Transmission: The Sound of Joy Division
Devoted to recreating the atmosphere of a live Joy Division gig, Transmission emulate the sound of one of the most inventive, evocative and influential groups of their era. Joy Division were formed in the late 1970s and dissolved in 1980 after the suicide of lead singer Ian Curtis. The remaining members went on to form New Order and have achieved much critical and commercial success. The influence of Joy Division, however, was far reaching. They were considered the pioneering band of the post-punk movement of the late 1970s and early 1980s. Forty three years on you can relive the dark, cavernous sound of Joy Division through Transmission - the UK's number one Joy Division tribute act.

Militarie Gun

Militarie Gun

8 Jun 2026 - 13 Jul 2026

Militarie Gun can’t be stopped. In just two short years since their inception, the Los Angeles-based group have been turning heads with a menacing-yet-melodic sound that’s impossible to ignore and a creative drive that borders on obsession. Formed in 2020, Militarie Gun is defined by the musical restlessness of vocalist/mastermind Ian Shelton. “I’ve always been the kind of person who’s very compelled to do things,” he explains. “Everything suddenly becomes urgent, and that’s how I feel about songwriting—it’s just something I have to do when the inspiration comes.” The band–whose lineup has expanded to include guitarists Nick Cogan and William Acuña, drummer Vince Nguyen, and bassist Max Epstein–draw on a wide range of influences to make something that sounds combative yet accessible, and undeniably their own. There’s the unhinged guitarwork of Born Against, the propulsive cadences of hip hop, the up-front bass of Fugazi–and most importantly, the hooks. Militarie Gun’s songs are instantly memorable, employing a melodic sensibility that’s just as informed by the work of Robert Pollard and Paul McCartney as it is by Black Flag. All Roads Lead To The Gun (Deluxe) marks the culmination of the group’s first two years but the 12 songs make it clear that Militarie Gun’s caustic-yet-catchy sound can’t be easily contained within just hardcore or pop songwriting. This is an ever-evolving band can go in any direction they might want–and Militarie Gun are just getting started.
