Known for classics like “Guns don’t kill people rappers do”, The GLC started almost by accident around the turn of the century with Eggsy’s impromptu rap about his tracksuit over a serious piece of music Rhys was working on in the studio. Adam Hussain, Billy Webb, Mystkal, the Maggot, 2hats and Mike Balls convinced Rhys to record the rap. Fuelled by Lambrini, fags, Chicken Tikka Massala and weed they all took to the mic and The GLC’s first album “Don’t Blame the Chain” was born. And so it began, the journey which has so far seen The GLC rise to the top of the charts, perform around the world and at every major festival in the Western Hemisphere and make millions of people laugh along the way. Now many years since that first rap about Eggsy’s tracksuit, the boys are still keeping it real in the rap game and hold the title of the most successful UK rap act ever. Echobelly debuted in 1993 with their debut EP, Bellyache, on the independent Pandemonium label. The favourable response including gushing press reviews and sold out gigs ensured the securing of a recording contract with Epic via their subsidiary, Rhythm King. The Ultimate Erasure Tribute In 1995 Mark appeared on ITV’s “Stars In Their Eyes” (and again for the 1995 Christmas Special) as Erasure’s Andy Bell, to universal acclaim. He met Pete in 1996 and the pair began writing original material together and at the same time launched Erasured, with which they toured the circuit for over ten years. The magic eventually waned, but the pair stayed the closest of friends. Then in 2018 Mark and Pete were invited to recreate the recent arena gigs Robbie Williams had done with Erasure. They agreed to do the gig as a ‘one off’ for nostalgia’s sake. The show was a huge success and they again found their passion for Erasure music, and started touring again, with new technology and new outfits!

Mark Berry (Bez) was born in Bolton, the son of parents from the Norris Green district of Liverpool His father was a detective inspector Bez first came to prominence at the turn-of-the-1990’s as the maraca-wielding dancer with ‘Madchester’ giants Happy Mondays. Neither an accomplished musician nor even a very good dancer, Bez was a prime candidate for fleeting celebrity, soon to sink into ‘Where Are They Now?’ obscurity.
