Dime

Dime

8 Aug 2025 - 8 Aug 2025

After a year of recording themselves in a railway arch in South London Ambient/Electronic/Jazz collective DIME emerged. Their unique blend of dystopian dance music is distilled from improvised melodies and ambient soundscapes which move between genre and texture. Their debut album Resolution Way is a testament to this creative vision, all recorded in one room and improvised together across these sessions. Dime are Max ODonnell (The Streets, Sister Sledge) on guitar, Peter Adam Hill (Alfa Mist, Ashley Henry) on drums, Sam Warner (Hak Baker, Tom Misch) on trumpet and Basile Petite (Incognito, Nubian Twist) on bass,. Dime features some of the UK's most in demand session musicians. Dime have a big sound akin to Matthew Halsall, all about the building to cosmic euphoria and epiphany. Like Much Modern Music of all genres, longer on texture than structure, it's not about the journeys as such but the immersive bliss when it all clicks - Jazzwise 2024. It has this free and uncontrived quality which comes from following where the music leads - Soweto Kinch BBC Radio 3. Their debut album Resolution Way is out now and available on all platforms
