A member of California's Project Blowed collective with a whip-smart sense of humor, rapper Open Mike Eagle was born Michael Eagle II in Chicago. It was at the Southern Illinois University Carbondale that the aspiring MC became an RA, and after he met Hannibal Buress, the resident advisor and student became fast friends. Grad school took him to the West Coast, where he joined the Project Blowed collective along with the group Thirsty Fish. In 2010, he went solo on Mush Records with Unapologetic Art Rap, an album that featured college bud Buress along with left-field MCs like Busdriver and Serengeti. Rappers Will Die of Natural Causes followed a year later on the Hellfyre label; then he collaborated with producer Awkward and issued 4NML HSPTL on Fake Four in 2012. The Mello Music group released the aptly titled Dark Comedy in 2014, the same year that Eagle submitted a track to The Ron and Fez Show, which the satellite radio talk show duo soon picked up as their theme song. He stuck with Mello for 2016's Hella Personal Film Festival, an album recorded with U.K. producer Paul White. Solo effort Brick Body Kids Still Daydream followed a year later, with EP What Happens When I Try to Relax arriving in 2018.

Two years ago, Declan J Donovan uploaded a home-recorded demo of a track called Fallen So Young to his SoundCloud. Written originally to be the best man speech at his Brother’s wedding, Declan wanted to give the song a life outside the confines of the wedding day. To his surprise, the song began to click with a few more people than he’d originally envisaged. With a string of gorgeous soulful singles, the singer/songwriter is clearly heading in the right direction.

Liam C is a one-of-a-kind singer-songwriter whose determination and self-belief have propelled him from sleeping in hostels to having viral moments with global superstars. Her first three studio albums all debuted at number one on the New Zealand Album charts, with Drive being certified seven times platinum and featuring the enormous hit, Sway, and Beautiful Collision being certified an incredible eleven times platinum and featuring the hits Get Some Sleep, Something Good and Listening for the Weather. In January 2006, Bic was awarded a New Zealand Order of Merit for services to music and in 2016 she was the recipient of the Legacy award at the New Zealand music awards and was inducted in to the New Zealand Music Hall of Fame. Under the name ShitKid, Swedish anti-pop vocalist/songwriter Åsa Söderqvist uses elements of lo-fi, synth pop, and garage-punk to make abrasive but engaging music that confuses the boundaries of chaos and pop.

Jon Gomm, based in Leeds, West Yorkshire in the UK, is an acoustic singer-songwriter with a revolutionary virtuoso guitar style, where he uses one acoustic guitar to create drum sounds, basslines and twisting melodies all at the same time. The emphasis is still on the soulful vocals and songwriting, and his original material is influenced by everything from Robert Johnson to Radiohead. His live shows combine deeply personal performances and a natural wit, with a once seen, never forgotten two-handed guitar style, both physical and complex, producing sounds people can barely believe are coming from a humble acoustic guitar. Jon first laid his hands on a guitar at the age of two (actually it was a ukulele - his parents couldn't find a guitar small enough). He wrote his first song at the age of six, and was soon accompanying his father, a music critic, to gigs in his hometown of Blackpool. Touring musicians would often stay at the Gomm household on the understanding Jon would get a guitar lesson, meaning he had one-to-one instruction from such blues legends as BB King and Jack Bruce of Cream. Nowadays, Jon tours worldwide. In January 2012 his song Passionflower went viral online, with the video passing 6 million hits, resulting in national TV appearances in the UK, Portugal, Holland, Brazil and Turkey.

Once the best-kept secret of Dallas' music scene, Joshua Ray Walker catapulted himself into the international spotlight with his 2019 debut, Wish You Were Here. Sumo Cyco is an independent female-fronted punk rock and heavy metal-based band from Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. The band launched in March 2011 and has released two albums, sixteen singles, and seventeen official music videos.

Hailing from Plymouth in the UK, Mad Dog Mcrea are a folk band known for their mixture of folk rock, pop, gypsy jazz, bluegrass and shanties.

Singer, Songwriter, Guitarist, Producer, Band Leader, Activist and Granny Nominee. Living in New York Aaron helped form his first band, Semi Precious Weapons. It was here that he caught the eye of Drivin' N' Cryin's Kevn Kinney, who later invited Tasjan to tour with him as an opening act and guitar player. He also mentored Tasjan, advising him that a musician never has to be defined by one sound or genre. This principle has helped shape Tasjan's work. In 2013 Aaron moved to Nashville to focus on songwriting and a solo career. He has since released 2 EPs, "Crooked River Burning" and "Telling Stories to the Wall. His debut full-length effort, In the Blazes, was released in 2015. This has been followed by Silver Tears in 2016, Karma For Cheap 2018, Tasjan Tasjan in 2021 and most recent Stellar Evolution in 2024. His new record, Stellar Evolution is a record with songwriting beholden to nothing no expectations, and certainly no genre. Just the pure sense of wonder and discovery that had made him fall in love with music as a kid in Orange County, devouring it all with no understanding or care for what was cool.
