The Used

The Used

22 May 2025 - 22 May 2025

Renowned US post-hardcore quartet Following the release of Toxic Positivity back in May, Utah post-hardcore heroes The Used are returning to the UK. The Used formed at the turn of the millennium, just as post-hardcore and pop-punk were gaining global traction thanks to MTV. Their 2002 self-titled debut remains one of the defining albums of this era, featuring classics such as ‘The Taste Of Ink’ and ‘Buried Myself Alive’. The band then hit the road, with performance slots at Ozzfest and Warped Tour, earning legions of fans. Two years later, The Used released the heartbreaking In Love and Death, featuring tracks such as ‘All That I’ve Got,’ ‘I Caught Fire’, and a cover of Queen’s ‘Under Pressure’ with My Chemical Romance. In 2007, the group released their third album, Lies for the Liars, which featured Good Charlotte’s Dean Butterworth on drums. It became the band’s fastest-selling album in the UK, while on home soil it peaked at No.5 on the Billboard 200. The Used’s fourth studio album came yet another two years later in the form of Artwork, which they described as "gross pop". The 2010s saw further releases, including 2012’s Vulnerable and 2017’s Canyon. In May 2023, the band – now consisting of vocalist Bert McCracken, drummer Dan Whitesides, guitarist Joey Bradford and bassist Jeph Howard – released Toxic Positivity, writing 11 songs in 11 days with longtime collaborator John Feldmann. The album also included the tracks ‘Numb’ and ‘Giving Up’.

Earthtone9

Earthtone9

18 Sept 2025 - 14 Dec 2025

earthtone9 are rightly hailed by those who know as one of the most forward-thinking, clever, musically wise and creatively smart in the history of British metal. Emerging in the late ‘90s as nu-metal was beginning to surge, their more nuanced palette and intelligent approach saw them hailed as something special and excitingly against the grain from the very beginning. Making an album a year between 1998 and 2000 – beginning with their expertly crafted Lo-def(inition) Discord debut, and culminating in 2000’s staggering Arc’tan’gent – it was a workrate as intense as the music was uniformly brilliant. After splitting in 2002 the band made a surprise return in 2013 with the crowdfunded album, IV. Following this they made only occasional appearances in the live arena (including at the ArcTanGent Festival, which purloined its name from their third album!), before once again seeming to disappear on hiatus. Now, 11 years on from their last record, they present In Resonance Nexus, a thrilling work of brains and muscle that not only stokes a fire, but sees the band's core members – vocalist Karl Middleton and guitarists Owen Packard and Joe Roberts – rediscovering and reconnecting with what makes them so special. In Resonance Nexus is the heaviest, fiercest, most heightened record they have ever made; a startling combination of almost feral intensity and the latter-day songwriting chops they displayed on the IV album. Presented by Action!. Under 14s must be accompanied by an adult over the age of 18 at all times. Under 8’s must have hearing protection.

In the late 1970s, he was among the first German punk rockers with his band Male In the eighties, he formed DIE KRUPPS, a driving force of the industrial and EBM movements. When this scene was taken over by the mainstream in the nineties, the group from Dusseldorf integrated tough thrash guitars into their sound and became, along with Nine Inch Nails and Ministry, the most important source of inspiration in the electro metal genre and also influenced numerous bands of the Neue Deutsche Harte (New German Hardness). Inspiring a genre that produced acts such bands as Oomph!, Eisbrecher, and Rammstein. Die Krupps is now a name synonymous with the electro-industrial-metal & Neue Deutsche Harte genres. Since its formation in the early 80s, Die Krupps has constantly evolved, using synthesizers, metallic percussion, heavy guitars to create it's own brand of metal-machine-music. Scowl

Scowl

5 May 2025 - 9 May 2025

Scowl has quickly made a name for themselves as one of the most vivid and hard-working acts in the rock world. Since the release of their debut album, How Flowers Grow in late 2021, the band has become a powerful force to be reckoned with. Lauded for its reality-driven, aggressive blend of hardcore-punk, the critically-acclaimed album opened up new doors for the band, including a non-stop touring schedule. As new music began to take shape, it was no surprise that experiencing most of their lives on the road would greatly influence the next phase of Scowl. Enter Psychic Dance Routine. Since forming in 2019, the band has consistently eschewed being pigeon-holed, moving far beyond the confines of what a typical “hardcore” band is considered. Floral motifs lace their artwork and merchandise, they’ve notably toured with diverse acts like Limp Bizkit and Destroy Boys, and one of the most talked about tracks on How Flowers Grow was a melodic number with a saxophone solo. On Psychic Dance Routine, Scowl continue to push the boundaries of their sound and artistic presence, now laying somewhere between hardcore and alternative. As the band puts it, “it’s like Negative Approach meets The Breeders.” In September 2022, the Santa Cruz, California band traveled to Pennsylvania to seclude themselves in the studio for a week, recording with Grammy-nominated producer Will Yip at Studio 4. Working with Yip was a completely collaborative experience as he not only brought life to these songs, but greatly encouraged Kat Moss as she worked on her elevated vocal style found across the record. The highlights and challenges of performing, whether in the studio, on tour, or in the act that is life, became a recurring notion on the five track EP. As Moss states; “I chose to revolve the main theme around performance. This is both literal and figurative, as the band has been on tour practically all of 2022. My perspective of being consumed as the version of myself that is ‘performing’ has shifted dramatically, while simultaneously grappling with the experience of being a feminine artist in a world that doesn’t always take you seriously.” Lead single “Opening Night” sets the stage marrying edgy melodies with dynamic riffs. Stylistically, Scowl evokes the same feeling as first hearing bands like Sonic Youth and The Strokes, making sounding cool seem almost effortless. “Shot Down” encompasses the battle of fear versus confidence in both lyrical and sonic form, as the band teeters between circle-pit ready moments and sugary hooks. The most vulnerable and pivotal moment of the EP comes in the title track “Psychic Dance Routine.” Moss and the band emphasize their capability of writing a striking indie-alternative song filled with breathy vocals, lush melodies, and a fundamental introspective for the entire release. “The best way I can define Psychic Dance Routine is that it represents the mental gymnastics or ‘dance routine’ one might have to participate in order to telepathically project their feelings or emotions to another person because they no longer have the ability to express themselves with words” comments Moss on where the title derives. She concludes, “The overarching theme of this EP lies heavily in the definition of the name— I wanted to lyrically express feelings of alienation and loneliness as well as questioning my own reality. I made an effort to speak more with metaphors as I wanted these topics to be relevant to other people.” On Psychic Dance Routine Scowl has exemplified their ethos of being true to themselves through creating innovative song structures and personable lyrics. Their ability to be genre fluid intersects with their up for anything attitude, whether that means playing in a fast food drive-in parking lot or hitting the stage at Coachella. It’s all just part of the plan for the ever-evolving band that is Scowl. Presented by DHP FAMILY. This is a 14+ event

Bob Mould Band

18 Nov 2025 - 20 Nov 2025

Legendary musician Bob Mould taps Jason Narducy to open the solo portion of his Distortion and Blue Hearts! tour starting October 15, 2021, in Bloomington, IL at Castle Theater. These solo dates are the second part of a tour that begins with his band Narducy on bass and drummer Jon Wurster on September 16 at Paradise Rock Club in Boston. The full run of dates and locations are below. Mould also marks the 10-year anniversary of his groundbreaking memoir See A Little Light: The Trail of Rage and Melody by sharing a video clip of him reading from the book and then performing solo Wishing Well from his 1989 landmark album Workbook. On top of that he shares a trailer for his fourth and final vinyl box Distortion: Live an 8 LP set that includes live recordings from Mould's solo career and his band Sugar. This set will be released on July 16, 2021, through Demon Music Group. Mould sees parallels between the memoir and the Distortion box sets: After three years of writing my 2011 autobiography, See A Little Light, I was full speed ahead no more looking back. But over the past few years, during the production of the Distortion reissue series, many of the people, places, and circumstances that fueled those albums came back to life. Oddly, I didnt see that coming! As for today: the book is ten years old, Im thrilled that 30 years of my work has been re-released in so many configurations, and Im very grateful to be able to take these songs and stories to the stage later this year and hopefully many years to come. As time marches on, Im learning to embrace my past, enjoy the moment, and still have hopes and dreams for the future. As on the previously released box sets in the Distortion collection, the fourth volume sees each album being mastered by Jeff Lipton and Maria Rice at Peerless Mastering in Boston and is presented with brand new artwork designed by illustrator Simon Marchner and pressed on 140g clear vinyl with unique splatter effects. This box set includes 4 live albums: Live At The Cabaret Metro, 1989; the Sugar album The Joke Is Always On Us, Sometimes; LiveDog98 (first time on vinyl), and Live at ATP 2008 (first time on vinyl). In addition, the set includes a 28-page companion booklet featuring liner notes by journalist Keith Cameron; contributions from Bully's Alicia Bognanno; rare photographs and memorabilia, and a bonus LP Distortion Plus: Live, which features live rarities including B-Sides and stand-out tracks from the Circle of Friends concert film. Opening the Solo Distortion part of the tour is Jason Narducy who has been the bass player in Bob Mould's band since 2005. The Evanston, IL-based musician first gained renown in 1982, when at 11 years old, he formed the seminal punk rock band Verböten with his childhood friends in an Evanston basement. Narducy would later go on to front Verbow, releasing three albums with the band (one in its earliest incarnation as Jason & Alison). Since his days in Verbow, Narducy has gone on to tour with such acts as Robert Pollard and Telekinesis. Today, along with playing bass for Mould he performs the same role in Superchunk, and fronts Split Single, with whom he's recorded three albums with a rotating cast of stellar musicians, including Jon Wurster, Spoon's Britt Daniel, R.E.M.'s Mike Mills, and Wilco's John Stirratt. Split Single's new album, Amplificado, is out June 25th.

The Obsessed

The Obsessed

23 Oct 2025 - 23 Oct 2025

Desertscene London presents The Obsessed Performing 'The Church Within' in its entirety "Scott “Wino” Weinrich is a living legend. In a way, he is the American version of Lemmy and shares many traits with the late, much-beloved metal icon. He’s always been a rebel, loner and an outsider in an outsider scene, pursuing his music without regard for popularity or acceptance. In the process, he came to be considered one of the early pioneers of American doom. All of this began when he founded THE OBSESSED back in the 70s, then pursued through his many other outfits such as Saint Vitus or Spirit Caravan. As a key part of the 80s Washington/Maryland music scene, his music earned the respect of metal, punk and crossover fans alike while often being dubbed doom metal. Looking back, it was just gritty, street-wise American metal with a cynical bent and psychedelic flair, and this is what made him the unique and timeless heavy music icon he is today. THE OBSESSED was formed in the late 1970s in Potomac, Maryland by legendary guitarist Scott “Wino” Weinrich (Saint Vitus, Spirit Caravan). The band spawned in the realm of musicians/artists such as Black Sabbath, Frank Zappa, The Dictators, and The Stooges. The earliest lineup consisted of Wino, bassist Mark Laue, guitarist John Reese, and drummer Dave Flood. In 1983, Wino took over vocal duties and the band became a three-piece to record the Sodden Jackal EP. The band broke up in the late 80s after Wino moved to California to join Saint Vitus. At that time, a German label, Hellhound Records, and the booking agency that had signed Saint Vitus, released The Obsessed, originally recorded in 1985, prompting Wino to reform THE OBSESSED. After multiple lineup changes, the band signed to Columbia Records in 1994 to release their third and final album, The Church Within. Despite highly acclaimed reviews, they would break up following the release, seeing Wino forming Spirit Caravan (then Shine) and other projects." Presented by Desertscene. Adebisi Shank

Adebisi Shank

13 Aug 2025 - 14 Aug 2025

This is the Return of a Band Called Adebisi Shank. In the almost twenty years we’ve been promoting shows, few reunions have our community requested more frequently and with greater passion than that of Adebsis Shank. So we are beyond excited to be able to share that alongside the release of their new EP (!!!) ‘This is the Second EP of a band called Adebisi Shank’, they will be swinging through London for this very special date at the Dome ahead of their set at Arctangent. After a decade apart, Adebisi Shank have come back to where it all beganthree friends in a room, playing like their lives depended on it. Instinct, friendship, and sheer volume. None of them were interested in a by-the-numbers reunion. Adebisi Shank was always about forward momentum, new ideas, and creative risk. So there had to be new music. Four new tracks - chaotic, melodic, and wired with the same reckless energy that always drove them. The sound is sharp, raw, and alive with the joy of rediscovery. Frenetic guitars, driving bass, powerhouse drums - invigorated with new clarity, a renewed sense of purpose, and gratitude for the chance to be alive. Again. So, there you have it. Could you think of a better reason to buy a ticket immediately? No you could not.
Stick To Your Guns Downstairs

Stick To Your Guns Downstairs

7 Jul 2025 - 7 Jul 2025

US hardcore punk STICK TO YOUR GUNS plus LOVE LETTER £25 adv. // 7pm STICK TO YOUR GUNS Stick To Your Guns make the kind of hardcore that stirs up thoughts as much it does mosh pits. The Orange County, CA outfit-Jesse Barnett [vocals], Andrew Rose [bass], Chris Rawson [guitar], Josh James [guitar], and Adam Galindo [drums]-incite a palpable and powerful release through shuddering grooves, earthquaking breakdowns, laser-precise riffing, and arresting hooks. Once again, they channel unbridled catharsis on their eighth full-length offering and Sharptone Records debut LP, Keep Planting Flowers. "Over the last few years, we really stripped Stick To Your Guns down to the simplest and purest form of expression," observes Josh. "With the band, we're lucky to have an outlet for everything-whether it be our frustrations, anxieties, and problems or the things we love and care about. It's a beautiful part of life." Emerging in 2003, the band have raised the bar with each successive release. Amassing over 100 million cumulative streams and counting, they've built a bulletproof catalog highlighted by Diamond [2012], Disobedient [2015], True View [2017], and Spectre [2022]. Of the latter, KERRANG! raved, "it's both astute in its commentary and revitalizing in its mood, brimming with the energy that could lift even the most desperate soul off their knees," and New Noise Magazine professed, "Stick To Your Guns gave a fantastic performance on this album." In a "9-out-of-10" review, Outburn attested, "Stick To Your Guns has not only shown mature progression with Spectre, but they have also boldly voiced the concerns that change is inevitable in America." Along the way, they shined as the rare live phenomenon equally suited to a tour with Knocked Loose, Parkway Drive, and Architects as they are to a bill with Rise Against and Pennywise. Truly breaking boundaries, they also touched down in Nairobi, Kenya for a gig, carving out a spot in history as "the first American hardcore band to play East Africa." Throughout 2023, the musicians carefully assembled what would become Keep Planting Flowers, recording with producer Beau Burchell. "Everything was just pouring out of us," recalls Josh. "The process was seamless, because Beau is a great communicator. He was always able to articulate how we could move forward, even if we got stuck. He made sure it went smoothly and had great input for the melodic elements. He was familiar with us, but he also came from a different world. His perspective was invaluable." The band initially teased this chapter with "Invisible Rain" and "Permanent Dark," stoking anticipation amongst fans. However, Stick To Your Guns kick into high gear with the single "Severed Forever." The drum gallop charges forward beneath Jesse's guttural screams punctuated by gnashing guitar. The barrage breaks like a wave on a chantable chorus, "Are we ever catching up before it vanishes? Will it ever be enough? Are we ever waking up?" "The opening is super fast, bordering on punk," notes Josh. "With many of these songs, we were going to make it intense in whatever way it was written. So, if it was punky, it was going to be really driving. If it's heavy, it's going to make you bang your head through the windshield. The intention was, 'How can we intensify the emotion we're trying to invoke?' Once Jesse put vocals to it, it became one of our favorites too." On "Who Needs Who," piercing feedback signals an oncoming storm as Jesse and Scott Vogel of Terror lock into brain-rattling back-and-forth, "Never forget who needs who, you need us, we don't need you." Clocking in at under a minute, its intensity never relents. "We sent Scott a couple of songs, and he was like, 'I definitely want to do 'Who Needs Who'," Josh goes on. "We've known Terror for a very long time. They may be the band we've toured with the most. Scott's an old friend, and he killed it." Then, there's "H84U." A shockwave of staccato riffing tosses and turns beneath one last blast of explosive energy catalyzed by Jesse and Connie Sgarbossa of SeeYouSpaceCowboy. "I'd been listening to a lot of Cro-Mags," he reveals. "You can hear it in the opening riff but then we took it in a totally different direction. Jesse started laying down his vocals and we instantly thought Connie would crush a guest vocal part. She was on tour at the time so she found a studio and through FaceTime she tried ideas over the phone. We ended up with a bunch of different versions, picked our favorite together and that's what you hear. The ferociousness she brought to the song really took it to the next level. It ended up being one of our favorite tracks." Price: General Admission: GBP 25.00 Artists: Stick To Your Guns, Love Letter Last Entry Time: 11:00 pm

Von Hertzen Brothers

Von Hertzen Brothers

7 Aug 2025 - 9 Aug 2025

Von Hertzen Brothers have never been an easy band to categorise by genre. Their music is often and better illustrated in terms one might use to describe a novella, painting or a movie: Dynamic. Thought provoking. Magical. Nuanced. Expansive. Epic. Uplifting. So, it is fitting that these three Finnish brothers approached their 8th studio album ‘Red Alert in the Blue Forest’ from the perspective of three artists creating a joint exhibition. The resulting body of work, a double LP, reflects the brothers’ unique upbringing, love of nature and the global challenges faced by humanity. It’s understandable how a strong artistic temperament was instilled into these three siblings. Kie, Mikko and Jonne’s father, Hasse and uncle, Lasse von Hertzen both played in well-known Scandinavian bands in the 60’s and 70s. One of Kie’s godfathers was an early Finnish environmentalist pioneer, the other one a well-known artist and a sculptor. The boys spent their holidays at their family’s seaside cabin on Finnish coastland where they still spend time writing songs and exploring the nature. An inevitable mutual vision steeped in Finnish folklore, musical traditions, wildlife, and humanitarian causes is often evident in their songwriting.

Labelled as an "indie pop wunderkind" by Avro Telvanni, Cambridge-born 22-year-old Ellie Dixon creates self-produced, punchy bops with groove and a sense of humour. Producing from her bedroom studio, she has created her own brand of self-aware alt-pop described by She Wolf as "pop music with brains". Dixon fuses her bespoke blend of indie pop, rap, jazz and R&B as she expresses life lessons and frustrations through witty lyrics and earworm melodies. Influences include; Easy Life, Still Woozy, BENEE and Anderson .Paak while oozing with her own personality, creativity and a love for the unconventional. Both her musical versatility and self-made, joyous visuals have been catching the ears and eyes of many, landing her Spotify editorial play-listing, radio play on BBC Radio 1 and BBC 6 Music, and backing from distributor CD Baby.
