You're The Top - The Life & Songs of Cole Porter
After her highly successful Edith Piaf show here at The Edge last October, we're thrilled to welcome back musical theatre actress Sally Jones (Evita, Into The Woods, Oliver) with her critically acclaimed tribute to one of the most successful songwriters of the 20th Century - the legendary Cole Porter. With world class songs made famous by the greats like Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Peggy Lee and Billie Holliday, You're The Top takes the audience through the famous swing classics of the 40s and 50s and also celebrates the glorious and golden era of Broadway and Hollywood with the most memorable and catchy songs from Anything Goes, Kiss Me Kate and High Society. In this thoroughly entertaining and uplifting performance Sally also gives a fascinating insight into the colourful and eventful life of this bon vivant - a life full of glamour, success, wild parties, challenges and also tragedy. YOURE THE TOP features vintage and top quality songs that really have stood the test of time - classic songs like Night & Day, Youre The Top, So In Love, Its De-Lovely, My Heart Belongs To Daddy, Just One Of Those Things, I Get A Kick Out Of You, Ive Got You Under My Skin, Lets Do It and many more. COLE PORTER was quite simply a genius and the pinnacle of wit and sophistication. From being one of the original Tin Pan Alley composers of New York City to his huge Broadway and Hollywood successes, he delighted audiences with a glittering torrent of over 900 songs. The bright surfaces of these gems - their catchy melodies and ingenious lyrics - made them instant hits. And their more subtle qualities and their musical and emotional depth have made them lasting standards, among the very best of the celebrated Great American Songbook.

Fred Zeppelin - An Evening of Classic Led Zeppelin
Fred Zeppelin have now been playing 31 years, an achievement that we're all proud of. During their time together the band are honoured that Led Zeppelins front-man, Robert Plant, has attended three of their gigs and John Bonhams son, Jason, even jammed with them on stage. It must surely also be the best recommendation any band could receive and assure Led Zeppelin fans apprehensive about seeing The Fredz. It's worth taking a camera with you, as you dont know who could be standing next to you. In the audience have been MAGNUMs front-man Bob Catley, WHITESNAKEs guitarist Mel Galley, Roy Wood, legendary main man of THE MOVE & WIZZARD, and SLADES Jimmy Lea. The band were also invited by Led Zeppelins Jimmy Page to attend a charity event of which Jimmy is a patron. They were thrilled to meet and chat with the legendary guitarist. Also at the party were Roger Daltrey, Julian Lloyd Webber, Leo Sayer and Formula Ones David Coultard. What a night !! According to one of Kerrangs reader's polls, FRED ZEPPELIN were among the top ten best live bands to see. Quite an achievement, as at the time they were the only tribute band listed in any category. Fred Zeppelin are real fans and formed The Fredz out of their admiration and love of Led Zeppelins music. As their name suggests the band don't take themselves too seriously, they know the praise belongs to Robert, Jimmy, John Paul Jones, and Bonzo. And, the Fredz will still continue with their tradition of honouring the music of Led Zeppelin and not dressing up to imitate them. Please keep in mind they are not a cabaret style look-a-like act. This is a seated gig.
