Henry Wagons - CASH The American Recordings
No country music icon has the depth, enigma and songwriting weight of Johnny Cash, and theres nobody better suited to honour and revitalize this legacy than Australian outlaw country founding-figure and brooding baritone Henry Wagons. Known as the Man in Black, Cashs music has always embraced the existential void and stared down the darkness head-on. No period of his esteemed career did this more so than his infamous, late-career American Recordings albums recorded with creative guru Rick Rubin. Across the course of these six albums released between 1996 and 2006, Cashs every syllable serves as both a show-down and an embrace of death itself. These American Recordings records were the instigators for Henry Wagons to pick up the guitar and serve as the embryo for an esteemed career playing his own brand of gothic country music over a quarter century. Now, spanning space and time, these two Titans of twang, Cash and Wagons, perfectly intertwine in this new show honouring the songs, arrangements and stories behind these perfectly curated songs. In CASH: A JOURNEY THROUGH THE AMERICAN RECORDINGS, HENRY WAGONS will lean into the deep mythology and sound of The American Recordings Albums. Featuring the favourites Solitary Man (Neil Diamond), I Hung My Head (Sting), The Mercy Seat (Nick Cave), Hurt (Nine Inch Nails), One (U2) and more, Wagons and his band The Tennessee Studs will re-create the sonic depth, poise and ominous force of the original recordings, as if you were sitting with Cash and Rubin in the control room.

Alfie Moore: Acopalypse Now

Alfie Moore: Acopalypse Now

17 Apr 2026 - 26 Nov 2026

The Four Horsemen of Rising Crime, Global Warming, AI and Culture Wars are galloping towards us. Are we on the road to hell? And can we avoid the potholes? In his brand new tour show 'Fair Cop' Alfie has the antidote to the breakdown of law and order, fake news and the price of baked beans. Somewhere in a parallel universe little Alfie’s natural comedic performance skills were recognised by his doting parents who encouraged and developed his blossoming talent. After several years as a stage school brat Alfie’s angelic face was launched on stage and screen and the rest is history. Meanwhile, in this universe Alfie Moore was told to stop messing about in class before being ‘encouraged’ into the grinding, grimy world of an apprenticeship in the Sheffield steelworks. When recession hit he traded steel for copper by joining Humberside Police. In his 40s the two universes collided when Alfie made a bid for showbiz success – but unfortunately 30 years of shift-work and being punched in the face quite a lot, had left him with ‘a face for radio’. A face not so much ‘lived in’ as inhabited by a settlement of squatters with little regard to property maintenance and repair.

The Forcefields

The Forcefields

6 Nov 2026 - 6 Nov 2026

Camping in a garden shed on Englands southernmost coast, The Forcefields forged their identity. There in the woods with a vintage synthesizer and a 1940s tank microphone, exuberant songwriter Julia Othmer and experimental producer James Lundie needed a way to protect themselves from distraction and focus on writing. So Lundie summoned a persona, Max Forcefield, to make space for creative magic. This magnetic field has now expanded to include a fantastical stage show with multimedia projections and an invitation for audiences to enter into their intimate and immersive forcefield of sound and light. All this energy can be heard on their debut EP, Bridge (out October 2024), a song cycle about letting go and magnifying positivity. Othmer first heard Lundies transcendent music at a wild ranch house soire on the outskirts of Los Angeles. She felt like she could walk inside the architecture of his songs. Two months later, she showed up on Lundies North London doorstep. They fell in love and joined their sonic worlds. Her piano-driven songs and vocal artistry were uplifted by his visionary production skills. Lundie fashions fresh sounds by rebuilding vintage synthssoldering and circuit-bending until they spark and hum anew. He loves to play with envelopes and filters, compressors and carbon microphones. On their new album, you can hear Othmers vibrant voice granulated through Lundies shapeshifting process. Othmer was born to East German refugees in the fertile soil of Kentucky. Before she knew anything else, she knew she wanted to live inside of songs. She grew up playing piano and flute, performing with her high school marching band and singing in the concrete cathedral of her college dorm stairwell. She has performed at the Lilith Fair Festival (US), Live at Heart Festival (Sweden), North by Northeast (Toronto) and the Kauffman Center (Kansas City). Lundie grew up wild on the Cornish peninsula, thriving in its salty air, surfing the Celtic Sea and dreaming of sound. He taught himself guitar and, in his teens, discovered the magic of 4-track recording, drum machines, sequencers and samplers. He has composed and produced music for film, television and advertising with clients like the BBC, Budweiser, Johnnie Walker and Honda. A Forcefields show starts outside the theatrethe lobby hums with drones and shadow puppets light up the walls. Songs are cast like spells over artful and engaging video projections. Every interstitial moment of their performance is sewn together with time, space and music bending and blending at the edges. With productions that are scalable and site-specific, The Forcefields are equally at home in a black box theatre, a festival stage or a makeshift backyard concert. The two songmakers are learning to lean into their artistic alter egos. Max Forcefield is a magnetic and mercurial character who, donning a silver cape and sandals, spreads positivity through sound. Aayama Forcefield is a warm, hyper-playful and eccentric creature who wants to connect with everyone. Their unabashed glamor is an invitation to amplify emotion and celebrate life. Their imaginary backstory spans time, space and history: from penning songs in Cairo during the third dynasty to dancing at 80s Berlin raves and singing rounds in the caves of Southern France. The Forcefields emerge from a fantasy thats based in honesty. The songs on Bridge are intensely human, yet otherworldly. The Symphony of All Things' alternates between whimsy and melancholy as it explores the cosmic web of connectivity. Inspired by the story of Othmers moms escape from East Germany, Border is a meditation on crossing thresholds between different realms and realities. Bang Bang is a moody take on the Nancy Sinatra classic, replete with rattles, drums, piano and voices. Slip Away is a melancholic disco dance party on the shores of a brooding sea. It plays with the metaphor of erosionboth the slipping away of a relationship and the losses we all face in a changing climate. The singles are being released alongside epic visuals created by The Forcefields as well as filmmaker Mikal Shapiro and animator Sarah Hearn.
Rea-Loaded, a tribute to the music of Chris Rea
Rea- Loaded is a new project that has been put together by some very experienced musicians based in the West Midlands of the UK, to create an authentic tribute to the music of Chris Rea. Founder member and drummer with the band, Ed Taylor wondered why very few people had come up with a tribute that could accurately portray the image and sound of this fabulous singer and musician. Ed also met Chris several times over the years in the motorsport paddocks of the world, which of course was a huge passion and remains a big part of Chris' life. It was always a hope that Chris would get on stage for a jam at one of the many F1 post race parties, but sadly his constant touring meant this never happened. Following a short lived Pink Floyd project that included the brilliant guitar of Neil Gordon, Ed thought that Neil also had the smoky voice along with his guitar skills to do justice to these songs....so after a LOT of persuasion, Neil agreed to give it a go. He has really embraced the music and the songs, and we think he's done a great job...we hope you think so too! Check out the video clips HERE [https://www.rea-loaded.com/videos] Neil and and Ed are joined in the band by some guys who, it's fair to say have ' been around the block' a few times. Mick Lown on guitar Dave Williams on keys Pez Connor on bass These fellas know the ropes! Chris Rea is not an easy guy to emulate, with that deep rich voice, and a distinct guitar style all of his own. Chris has had very many well documented serious illnesses since the mid 1990's, that have limited the amount of live performances that he he can play. Of course, it's everyones hope that at some stage he can strap the guitar on again for a live show somewhere, but until then, we keep our fingers crossed. He is still writing and recording, but the 'Life On The Road' has maybe wound down, as it inevitably does for all of us in later years. There is still a HUGE fanbase that wants to see this music performed on the live stage, so while we appreciate that the real thing is always the best thing, we hope that we can take up the mantle in a small way and present these songs in a way that is a fitting tribute to this great musician. So you can expect to hear songs like these in the setlist Road To Hell Auberge Lets Dance Texas Josephine Stainsby Girls Working On It So Far To Go On The Beach Fool If You Think Its Over Jazzy Blue Blue Cafe Too Much Pride and many more that will be added to the show.....where do you start and end with this.....there are so many! These songs need to be heard again We hope you agree.
Exhibition on Screen: Frida Kahlo

Exhibition on Screen: Frida Kahlo

25 Apr 2026 - 16 Jun 2026

This highly engaging film takes us on a journey through the life of one of the most prevalent female icons: Frida Kahlo. She was a prolific self-portraitist, using the canvas as a mirror through all stages of her turbulent and, at times, tragic life. Guided with interview, commentary and Frida’s own words, Exhibition on Screen uncovers that this, however, was not a life defined by tragedy. "Seek a deeper understanding of the real Frida Kahlo..." Featuring key exhibitions and interviews with world renowned Kahlo curators, this film explores the extraordinary symbolism and themes in these personal canvases to seek a deeper understanding of the real Frida Kahlo. Using cinema to take an up-close and intimate look at her works we examine how great an artist she can be considered. Displaying a treasure trove of colour and a feast of vibrancy on screen, this personal and intimate film offers privileged access to her works and highlights the source of her feverish creativity, her resilience and her unmatched lust for life, men, women, politics and her cultural heritage. We might think we already know Frida Kahlo – the image of floral crowns, big brows and folk style clothing have made her a muse to generations – but what lies beneath the surface of this intensely passionate woman?

FiddleBop in concert

FiddleBop in concert

12 Sept 2026 - 12 Sept 2026

FiddleBop plays Gypsy jazz (think Django Reinhardt and Stephane Grappelli in 1930s Paris) in the bands own highly distinctive style. FiddleBops Gypsy Jazz plus is sophisticated without being stuffy or pretentious, danceable and exciting but not rhythmically boring, and has plenty of go-for-it improvised solos but is still tuneful and melodic. Superb instrumentalists all, the members of FiddleBop also have a notable fondness for vocals, both solo and harmonised. And like the first Gypsy jazz bands FiddleBop's repertoire is highly eclectic. Expect Gypsy-flavoured jazz drawn from pretty much all of the genre's century-long history: get-up-and-dance jazz from the 1920s, 1930s chilli-hot swing, cool post-bop, jazz-flavoured classic pop, folk-jazz, and the bands own creations. All with a dash of or sometimes a bit more fun and good humour . FiddleBops musicians love what they play, and it shows! "Fiddlebop played an amazing set of wonderful music that delighted everyone" (Brecon Jazz Club, 2024) "... a wonderful evening of life-affirming music..." (Brecon Jazz Club, 2025) Based in mid-Wales since 2017, the current lineup of FiddleBop features Dave Favis-Mortlock on violin; Joanna Davies on Spanish guitar; Graeme Lamble on fretless electric bass; and Paul Midgley on percussion and junk flute. All of them sing. In 2024-5 FiddleBop played at several festivals, including Brecon Jazz Festival, Upton Jazz Festival, HowTheLightGetsIn at Hay-on-Wye, Tewkesbury Live, Llangollen Fringe, Landed Festival, and others.

Little Rumba

Little Rumba

5 Jun 2026 - 5 Jun 2026

Little Rumbas musicians come from very different musical backgrounds which is why the band presents such a unique blend of styles. John Hymas (violin, viola and accordion) trained as a professional viola player in the classical world. He is also a highly regarded composer and founder member of the contemporary folk band Hoover the Dog. Singer and guitarist Pete Mustill was part of the original R&B boom in the 60s but subsequently had a Road to Damascus moment in the late 80s on first hearing the music of Astor Piazzolla. This led to the formation of The Tango Band, and a top three album in the Czech charts. Little Rumbas inspirational bass player Jacqui Savage has provided the beat for a whole series of Border and Midlands bands most recently as part of the rhythm section of Paul Bridgwaters Electric Blues Rebellion. They are joined on live gigs by two great players - the brilliantly all round musician and keyboard player Bertie Playle from the legendary band Psycho Betty and by the fabulous Welsh singer and songwriter Jess Hall. The band writes all their own music and over the years this has developed an instantly recognizable house style, which owes debts to East Europe and South America as well as jazz and blues. Recently a musician friend hearing the new album for the first time remarked, I know what this is. Its Tom Waits meets Tom Lehrer and indeed the music and the lyrics possess both humour and a haunting melancholy. From Winchcombe Live Absolutely fantastic evening from you guys tonight. We had so many positive comments from the audience; very gratifying! Great musical talent, great humour, variety, and warmth of performance.
Roy Walker

Roy Walker

31 Oct 2026 - 31 Oct 2026

Roy Walker, well known to TV viewers through the ITV game show Catchphrase, has emerged as one of the driest comedians in Britain today. His lugubrious style of humour, his dead-pan expression and his approach to entertaining have paid handsome dividends. His casual line in patter has endeared him to audiences all over the country. To be honest, when I am on stage, Im just being myself, he admits. I tried all the quick-fire, clever stuff when I started out in the business; but my Irish accent was such that no one could understand me. I had to slow down my delivery and the style just developed from there. Roy broke through to national prominence in 1977 when he recorded the highest marks ever given to a comedian on televisions New Faces talent show. It was the start of a television career that has seen him starring in many major TV variety shows. In 1987 Roy hosted his first series of Catchphrase which went on to become a very popular and high-rating addition to the ITV Network scheduling each year. More recently it has also been screened on Challenge TV.

And, in between, they have amassed an impressive list of hit records. Today, the line-up consists of Valerie Holiday, Freddie Pool and Hazel Payne. The actual beginning of the group dates back more than 6 decades, when their then-manager, the enigmatic Richard Barrett brought three young teenagers together in Philadelphia. After a couple of years of constant rehearsing and local record hops, the group made its first mark on the recording scene by way of the Philly-based Swan Records. In 1972, they aligned their recording fate with Gamble and Huff's Philadelphia International label and hit immediate paydirt in 1972 with "Dirty Ol Man". Soon after came "TSOP", which featured the ladies with MFSB. The following year came 'When Will I See You Again". "The whole Philadelphia Sound was the brainchild of Kenny (Gamble) and Leon (Huff)," Valerie explains. "They wrote and produced most of the hits...Harold Melvin & the Blue Notes, the O'Jays, Billy Paul, the Intruders. In all honesty, we weren't aware of the potential of the label when we first signed but at our first session with them, we felt the magic During their 3-year stint with Philadelphia International, they enjoyed a good measure of success with "Year Of Decision", "Take Good Care Of Yourself" and, again with MFSB, "Love Is The Message". It was during this era that the threesome made their biggest forward strides. A great deal of attention has been given to the fact that Prince Charles publicly acclaimed The Three Degree as his favorite group A year later, they teamed up with Giorgio Moroder (he of Donna Summer fame) and a new string of hits began. "Giving Up, Giving In", "My Simple Heart", The Runner and the lush ballad, "Woman In Love", were the highlights of this period. In 1986, Sheila decided to leave the group and after a short period of regrouping, Valerie and Helen brought in Cynthia Garrison and set about their business again. Ever since, they have been constantly touring all over the world, occasionally recording but always working. In 2015, the threesome returned to the recording studios to record their tribute to the music of their home city. Entitled Strategy: Our Tribute to Philadelphia, the album features their unique rendition of some of the best known and most revered songs from the golden era of the city such as Love Train, Aint No Stoppin Us Now, If You Dont Know Me By Now as well as their slant on Me & Mr. Jones, Youll Never Find Another Love and an update on their own TSOP. So it is that after almost six decades of existence, the Three Degrees can still make the claim as being the longest running female vocal group in history. And they show no signs of slowing down!

In 2026 911 will be celebrating their 30th anniversary! 911 began their journey in 1995 - Spike and Jimmy had been the main dancers on ITVs cult TV show The Hitman and Her which was presented by Pete Waterman and Michaela Strachan. Lee was working at a ten pin bowling centre and had taken a letter to his local radio station CFM in his hometown of Carlisle asking if he could perform on one of their roadshows. CFM had recently been working with Spike and Jimmys manager Steve Gilmour and faxed him the letter and picture, as they knew he was looking to put a new Boyband together. 911 was born and their rise to Boyband stardom had began! The lads moved to Glasgow and started touring schools and under 18 clubs around the UK to build their fanbase. 911 became well known for their high energy stage shows, jaw dropping dance routines, fun personalities and big catchy pop songs. They had now achieved teenage sensation status, appearing on front covers of magazines and performing on tv shows around the world. Between 1996 and 2000, Lee, Spike and Jimmy sold over 10 million records worldwide and were only one of five acts in the 90s to achieve 10 consecutive UK Top 10 Hit Singles (8 of which were Top 5 Hits) including fan favourite Bodyshakin, More Than A Woman, Love Sensation, Party People, Dont Make Me Wait and their Number One single A Little Bit More. 911 sold out their own theatre and arena tours around the UK and Asia and headlined the legendary Smash Hits Tour in 1998. Lee, Spike and Jimmy split in 2000. In 2013, ITV2 aired The Big Reunion, a fly-on-the-wall documentary featuring 911 alongside other best-loved groups of the 90s and 00s including Five, Atomic Kitten, BWitched, Blue, Honeyz and Liberty X. The show documented the ups and downs of pop success, as the bands prepared for a spectacular come-back concert and became ITV2s biggest watched documentary. A sell-out arena tour followed which saw the acts play to over 250,000 fans. In February 2023, 911 had a huge Number One hit on all platforms in Asia with their self penned ballad I Do, which hit No.13 on YouTube music worldwide and has had over 80 million views. 911 will be joining 00s Boyband Blue on their UK theatre tour as special guests in April and May 2026 before embarking on their own UK anniversary tour in the Autumn.
