Manford's Comedy Club

19 Jul 2025 - 12 Dec 2025

A message from Jason Manford. Hello there, Jason here, thanks for stopping by. I've been wondering for while now, why is local stand up comedy not high up on the list of what people think about doing when looking for a great night out. So where do we go? The local pub for a few drinks? Cinema? Maybe a meal with a loved one or a cheeky midweek quiz with some mates. Some people still go out clubbing at one of those city centre discotheques! (shudders). Even ten-pin bowling is considered higher up than comedy! How can that be? How can throwing a massive rock at ten wooden things be more fun than sitting in a dark room with your friends or partner, drink in hand, watching someone funny tell jokes that make you all laugh from your belly for hours and hours and give you something to talk about all the next day? Well let me tell you this: There is a circuit of brilliant comics in this country who thrive in the live arena and want to make you laugh on a regular basis, so I'm going to tell you who they are. My plan is this: I'm going to carefully select some of my favourite comedians from the circuit and send them to a town near you. Simple! Keep on laughing folks, and remember, there's nothing like live!

Hejira: Celebrating Joni Mitchell

Hejira: Celebrating Joni Mitchell

21 Sept 2025 - 3 Oct 2025

Hejira is a 7-piece band set up to celebrate and honour the masterpiece works of Joni Mitchell, mostly from the late ‘70s. Having released the albums The Hissing of Summer Lawns, Hejira, Don Juan’s Reckless Daughter and Mingus (regarded as her ‘jazz period’), Joni then toured briefly with a band formed from the crème de la crème of contemporaneous jazz musicians (Metheny, Mays, Brecker, Pastorius and Alias). The tour was recorded, producing the outstanding live album, ‘Shadows And Light’; it is from this album that the band Hejira is drawing the body of its repertoire. Comprising highly experienced jazz musicians, this band is fronted by the brilliant Hattie Whitehead who not only has - in her own way - assimilated the poise, power and beauty of Joni’s vocals, but also plays guitar with Joni’s stylistic mannerisms. Expect an evening of the ‘great’ songs from Mitchell’s back catalogue, such as Amelia, Woodstock, A Case Of You, Song For Sharon, Edith And The Kingpin etc.!

Simon Evans: Have We Met?

26 Feb 2026 - 22 Mar 2026

Completing the Trilogy begun with Genius 2.0 and The Work of the Devil, Have We Met? finds Simon standing, like Ulysses in Tennyson’s famous verse, gazing out over the moaning deep and the twinkling rocks and wondering whether to seek a newer world? To smite the sounding furrows? To strive, to seek, and to find? Or whether in fact, to put the kettle on, crack open the Hobnobs and simply yield? Drawing on Joyce, Proust and the career of Philip Schofield to make sense of his own tangled past and possible future, Evans skilfully weaves comedy, pathos and narrowly averted cancellation into an unforgettable two hours of unique entertainment.

Carnaby Army Christmas Special - 60s British Invasion!
Carnaby Army brings you the kind of 60's music that is best experienced LIVE! The 1960s music scene in Britain didnt start with a bang, it was more a crescendo. The decade heralded the arrival of bands that are now household names: the Beatles, Rolling Stones, Kinks and the Animals raised energy levels from about 1964, followed closely by the Who, Spencer Davis Group and the Small Faces. They were the vanguard of the British Invasion, but the US had their own high energy acts too, with Jerry Lee Lewis and Chuck Berry turning up the heat, Wilson Picket getting people on their feet, and the Doors raising a few storms in their short but bright career. Carnaby Armys stunning show brings the excitement of this amazing period back to audiences young and old. This is not music for earbuds, this is a cultural phenomenon that needs to be experienced! The Audience were on their feet dancing from early on. They loved it and I would recommend this band to anyone! Derek Griffiths, The Artwoods Absolutely brilliant! Couldnt help but get up and dance. If you ever see a flyer or a program with their name on it GO! FizzyFeet Smith, Goodwood Revival As an ex-player from the Sixties myself, I must admit I was sceptical. But you blew me away! Every band member was a perfect spoke in the wheel. Congratulations on a fantastic show! Richard Wolczynski, The Exchange, Twickenham.

Chris Difford - A Little Stand-Up and A Little Sit-Down
"Being on tour is something I really enjoy, seeing people and being with people is part of my experience as a performer. I will be playing songs from the Squeeze catalogue and from the solo albums I have recorded over the last 23 years. My story is told though stand up and some sit down, a trip back to my council estate in South London, from my very first lyrical expression to the dressing rooms of this show. My new songs written with Boo Hewerdine tell a story of celebration, 25 years writing lyrics and playing on stages big and small. A journey I look back on with great fondness and gratitude. I can't wait to climb back on stage and perform, although I have been shy in the past I now find myself feasting on the here and now deep within the shell-like of your ear. I will be joined on stage by Melvin Duffy on his peddle steel and together we will deliver an evening of warm and I hope funny stories. Melvin's playing is outstanding and I feel so lucky to have him as my sideman, he cries over the songs and makes them sound always amazing. 'Not Only But Also' is not just a look back on 50 lyrical years, it's a journey that asks, What Happened? What happened to all those years and mates I grew up with before I formed a band. A Little Stand-Up And A Little Sit-Down is not just a look back on 50 lyrical years, its a journey that asks, What Happened? What happened to all those years and mates I grew up with before I formed a band? I hope you enjoy this show."
