The band formed in 1983. Influenced by the MC5, The Stooges, Captain Beefheart, Pharoah Sanders, The Gun Club, The Cramps etc etc , and 1960s American garage rock, they continue to improve with age, like a fine single malt, and remain a resiliently brilliant live act. The single features the A side "I'm The Man-Wulf" with an edited long version on the flip. The Primevals have always been a lot more than a bang it out garage rock band. Sure, they hit hard but behind the noise (of which there is a lot) is a fine and dare we say it cultured understanding of all the other great love sounds-of funk, soul, free jazz and a plain goddam groove!! The Primevals love playing the Ferret and Tuff LIfe Boogie will keep bringing them back until everyone gets the message that this is an elite band! https://primevals.bandcamp.com/ INCA BABIES Inca Babies were formed in Manchester's infamous Hulme flats in 1982 by Bill Marten (bass) and Harry Stafford (guitar, later vocals). Intended as cities in the sky for young executives, the Hulme estate quickly turned into a cockroach-infested grey slum and undoubtedly influenced the Inca's raunchy death ray twang, also informed by the nascent goth scene which was genuinely exciting. The Inca's first single 'The Interior' secured them the first of four John Peel sessions recorded between 1984-87. With two number one slots in the Indie single chart and a top 5 album 'Rumble', the Incas soon began to find an audience abroad, touring mainland Europe several times. Three further albums (This Train, Opium Den and Evil Hour) and six more singles were released. During this time popularity was not a problem but keeping personnel was, and while singers and drummers came and went, Bill and Harry, the backbone of the band who played every gig and appeared on every record, struggled to keep the integrity of the band alive. The end came when there were no more singers and no more drummers. But then in 2006 came the Best of compilation 'Plutonium', and the band reformed in 2007 with Goldblade drummer Rob Haynes the new occupant behind the drum kit. Gigs at home and abroad followed and a new album was midway through being written when the band were hit with the shocking news of the death of bassist Bill Marten. The band was put on hold while they came to terms with this loss, but it was eventually decided to keep Bill's legacy alive by continuing and finishing off the album they had started writing, which turned out to be Death Message Blues released in 2010. Harry and Rob have continued to be the core of the Inca Babies since then, putting out several more albums, most recently, Ghost Mechanic No 9 which dropped in late 2024, and introduces new bass player, Jim Adama. Ghost Mechanic is a powerful collection of tunes taking listeners back to a sound that is rawer and spikier, reminiscent of the Inca's early days, and closes with a new reworked dub version of 80's favourite Opium Den. The Incas have continued to gig occasionally when their schedules permit and interest in the band remains high. Tuff Life Boogie has been delighted to get a number of opportunities to present the band in the past and has learned that two things are guaranteed when you book them: Inca Babies are always a hard act to follow and Harry Stafford is always the best-dressed man in the room. Pentire are an indie band who make pop songs for the post-jangle generation through the smiles and sweat of the mosh pit. This Herefordshire four-piece tell cheap lager-soaked stories of student life, a small-town upbringing, and the innocence of youth. Brought up on a diet of The Killers, Paolo Nutini and Stereophonics, frontman and principal songwriter Jack formed a band with his best mate Owen in the sleepy town of Ross-on-Wye. The two friends met drummer Jake and bass player Jacob whilst at university, which cemented the four-piece that is now selling out venues across the UK.

Back in 2020, former Auteurs frontman Luke Haines and former R.E.M. guitarist Peter Buck teamed for the excellent Beat Poetry for Survivalists, and now they've announced a follow-up. The awesomely titled All The Kids Are Super Bummed Out is a double album, out October 28 via Cherry Red.

The Real People, from Liverpool, England, were one of the very first bands to play what is today known as Britpop, and have been quoted by Oasis as being one of their major influences. They were formed in 1988 by brothers Christopher and Anthony Griffiths, the original line up consisted of Chris Griffiths (guitar and vocals), Tony Griffiths (bass and vocals), Dave Reilly (drums)(ex China Crisis), Jay Norton (keyboards)(ex Its Immaterial) and Gordon Morgan (guitar)(ex Black). Tony Elson (drums) replaced Dave Reilly (and he was replaced by Garry Ford) and Gordon Morgan was replaced by Sean Simpson (guitar) (later to be replaced by Alan Gillibrand and then by Ian 'Sitar'). The current line up is Tony & Chris Griffths (bass guitar vocals, guitar and vocals), Martin Lappin (guitar) and Tony McGuigan (drums).

Crime & the City Solution are an Australian rock band formed in late 1977 by singer-songwriter and mainstay Simon Bonney. They disbanded in 1979 leaving only bootleg recordings and demos. In late 1983, Bonney travelled to London and in 1985 he formed a new version of the group in the U.K. which included members of Nick Caves recently disbanded The Birthday Party; later they transferred to Berlin, where they issued four albums Room of Lights (1986), Shine (1988), The Bride Ship (1989) and Paradise Discotheque (1990) before disbanding again in 1991. In 2012, Bonney reformed the band in Detroit with two veterans of its Berlin era and a handful of new members.

Artists including Sam Fender, Katy Perry, Coldplay, and Enter Shikari were early adopters of the Grassroots Levy and have enabled Liveline to begin fuelling the future of UK grassroots music.

When Bob Log III was a child, he lost his left hand in a boating accident. It was soon replaced with a monkey paw, and a new guitar style was born. 'It's my own personal style, see,' Log says, 'the paw moves much quicker than a normal hand, so my real hand has to flop around a lot to compensate.'" Bob Log III, one man band crown prince of punk blues from Tuscon, Arizona. Witnessing Bob Log live is an unmissable and unforgettable experience. By rights he should be a punk blues stadium super star. He takes to the stage with his face masked in a crash helmet with a black visor and a telephone wired in it for a mic and wearing a blue jump suit. Bob then unleashes a torrent of hardcore Mississippi Delta blues, hip hop beats and punk rock. The crash helmet telephone distorts the vocals and his hands, arms, legs and feet become a blur of jump suit clad limbs as he plays slide, triggers drum machines and drums with his feet simultaneously. Bob then adds extra ingredients to this punk blues bouillabaisse with his unique version of audience participation. More often them not he’ll bounce a couple of audience members on his knees while playing, and then bring on the infamous Boob Scotch. The audience are invited to literally stick their boob in his scotch which he then drinks. If Bob feels satisfied, he will then launch into his anthem Boob Scotch! Everyone has to look out when the rubber dinghy makes an appearance.
