John Mouse (real name John Davies) is a Welsh musician and songwriter celebrated for his inventive blend of indie-pop, alternative rock, and more recently, electronic music. As befitting a band who take their name from the Maltese word for frenzy, ĠENN thrive amongst chaos. “Craziness follows us,” laughs lead singer Leona Farrugia, alluding to the quartet’s colourful history, which has so far featured robbery, legal disputes, long-distance collaborations, and three members of the band relocating to Brighton from Malta. Guitarist Janelle Borg concurs. “[ĠENN] could have been a support group, but we decided to make music instead,” she deadpans. Jokes aside, it’s this unique outlook and tight-knit gang mentality that make ĠENN such a thrilling proposition musically, as evidenced on March’s Liminal EP. Released through London-based indie Everything Sucks Music, the six-song collection sees Leona, Janelle and their bandmates Leanne Zammit (bass) and Sofia Rosa Cooper (drums) contrasting searing post-punk missives with more allusive meditations cocooned in psychedelic textures. Key reference points for the record included Baxter Drury, Metronomy, LCD Soundsystem and Captain Beefheart, as well as the band’s most enduring inspirations - Warpaint. Listen closely, and you can practically hear the band shrugging off their Riot Grrrl reputation in real-time, as they move in a more experimental and neo-psychedelic direction.

Dan English \+ special guest Sidney Jones For the longing listener, the music of composer Dan English is the communing of the head and the heart sharing secrets. Born in a quiet town in Iowa, he grew up chasing invisible things: codes in books, echoes in movies, half-sentences in songs. English found himself glued to the radio from an early age and after picking up guitar at 10, language and sound conspired. Following a move to New York City, Dan released his first album “Fruit Boy" in 2018 followed by 2020’s “In Grace” EP. His newest offering, Sky Record (June 2025), is his second full-length album and continues to expand upon and probe the depths explored in his previous work. The music is part confession, part séance- lush spells where the sacred and the stained trade places. Emotions arrive in disguises: tenderness (smoke), grief (rhythm), silence (a cathedral on the verge of collapse). Presented by AEG. This is an 18+ event

Ten Fé began with a meeting at a house party in London, where songwriters Ben Moorhouse and Leo Duncan first played together. Between busking trips on the London Underground and songs written in each other’s bedrooms, they developed the partnership that would become Ten Fé. Old friend and bassist Rob Shipley joined a little later, becoming a driving force in the band alongside them. More than a decade later, they’ve released three albums, passed 100 million Spotify streams and built an international cult following. Leo grew up in the Black Country in an Irish household steeped in folk singing. Ben came from East London, finding his way through Britpop and psychedelia before studying jazz at the Royal Academy of Music. They shared a love of older songs and an instinct for making music that connected with people straight away. Indie in Town is back at The George Tavern on 26 November to introduce some very exciting Dutch bands to you all. We've got the amazing Grote Geelstaart and Crybabies joining us for this one. They have both never played in the UK before, so you’ll be the very first to watch them on British soil. They are joined by the amazing Tigers & Flies. Bring your friends, we'll bring the mini stroopwafels. See you on 26 November! Grote Geelstaart walks the tightrope like an acrobat who could lose their balance at a moment’s notice. Noise orchestrated in such a way that it bubbles to a boiling point. They haul a sizeable mountain of gear to every show, including two drum kits and a collection of pedals that would make even a harsh-noise enthusiast blink twice. With oblique soundscapes over even more oblique time signatures, they create a live show that is as claustrophobic and cramped as a fish out of water. Tigers and Flies are a 6 piece art pop group. Think of them as the musical equivalent of patting your head and rubbing your stomach at the same time: big pop choruses will get your body moving and limbs flailing, while off-kilter rhythms and nods to the no-wave will get you reaching for your thinking caps. Crybabies: Have you ever considered how a thunderstorm would sound during clear sunny skies? Crybabies from Tilburg, the Netherlands knows how to conjure up that feeling into heavy beats, fuzzy, dreamy guitars and melancholic lyrics. Presented by Indie In Town This is an 18+ event

Tough Cookie comprises August (vocals), Jess (guitar), Gav (drums), and Dan (bass). Having cut their teeth in other projects, Tough Cookie marks an entirely new chapter for the four musicians, armed with ambition and freed from expectation. At the heart of Tough Cookie's music is frontperson August’s deeply personal journey; moving to the UK from Singapore at the age of thirteen, August’s introduction to music came through an older cousin. Enthralled by a bat-shaped guitar hanging on his wall and the heavy sounds of Korn, they were hooked. From there, August’s musical career would become very intense quite quickly; pressured to present a persona at odds with their true self, and pushed to display emotional vulnerability online, August garnered a cult-like following who related intensely to someone they didn’t even recognise. From this deeply unsettling experience came a renewed pursuit of genuine human connection and self acceptance, and that’s where the Tough Cookie story begins. The songs on The Countryside Is Good For You EP span a period of five years, reflecting this time of change and evolution. Tracks like ‘Happiness’ explore the fleeting solace of addiction and is the oldest song on the project, while newest track and debut single ‘Emory’ delves into the vulnerability of finding love beyond superficial highs, and is the perfect introduction to the Tough Cookie sound; a balance of delicacy and brutality, nostalgia and modernity, drawing from the raw rock energy of Smashing Pumpkins, the vulnerability and intricate artistry of Big Thief and the indie-rock sensibilities of Pavement. The band’s lineup has solidified over time through serendipitous meetings and shared experiences, and the resulting Tough Cookie sound is born from the convergence of diverse musical backgrounds. Whilst both living in Leeds, bassist Dan joined August for an impromptu studio session. Dan’s vast musical palette, spanning classical to alt-rock, combined with his innate grasp of harmony and tonality made him a perfect addition. Drummer Gav was introduced to the band by his brother, a mutual friend of August’s. Gav’s style is rooted in hip-hop’s hard-hitting, rhythmic precision, reminiscent of Nirvana’s Dave Grohl with his powerful, backbeat-heavy style; “I wanted someone to really hit the drums, you know - not just shake their wrists”. Jess, the final addition to the band, brings both her guitar flair and a crucial safe space for August to explore their queerness and identity within the band, while August’s raw lyrical sensibility anchors the band’s narrative voice in introspection and emotional candour.
