Chantel McGregor

The Blues came calling first, but rock was always waiting around the corner. Well it would be, wouldn’t it? Coming from the deep south, it was inevitable, but living in the deep south of a major Yorkshire City, there’s a gritty hard edge to life! A female guitar prodigy, Chantel was told by a major label that she had a "great voice, but girls don't play guitar like that!" Wisely ignoring their comments, she enrolled at the Leeds College of Music and became the first student in the college’s history, to achieve a 100% pass mark at BTEC, with 18 distinctions. Chantel then pursued further education and left with a First Class Honours degree in Popular Music and a coveted prize, the college’s musician of the year award. Chantel released her highly anticipated second album, Lose Control, in October 2015 on her independent boutique label Tis Rock Music, this being the follow up to her critically acclaimed 2011 debut album, Like No Other.

Baskery

Baskery

22 Apr 2026 - 22 Nov 2026

The three sisters can't recall when or why they started playing, the music’s always just been there. In their late teens, the sisters joined forces with their dad, who for decades was a one man band playing old blues and country tunes for a living. This foundation of classic "roots music and Americana" settled in their hearts, but also awoke the urge of breaking the rules of traditional music. Baskery is a band built on what three people can do together and it's all about turning the music on its head, blending the straightforwardness of punk with the subtlety of singer/ songwriting. The first album, "Fall Among Thieves" (2008) was recorded in Stockholm, co-produced by Lasse Mårtén (Pink, 'Peter, Bjorn and John', Kelly Clarkson, Lykke Li, Primal Scream ). "New Friends" (2011) the follow up, the band referred to it as the "gypsy album" since it was mainly tracked on the road in various hotel rooms and band apartments, then mixed in Berlin by Blackpete (Depeche Mode, Joe Jackson, Peter Fox). As a contrast to the first two albums which took several months to make, the third one "Little Wild Life" (2013) was recorded during ten days in an old dance studio converted to a studio in former east Berlin, co-produced by Matt Wignall (Cold War Kids, J. Roddy Walston, Wargirl). All three albums received great acclaim by the press and are released in numerous countries. The releases in combination with relentless touring have given the band a reputation as one of the music scene's most noticeable live acts.

Otis Gibbs @ Wagonwheel Presents...

Otis Gibbs @ Wagonwheel Presents...

21 May 2026 - 21 May 2026

On Thursday May 21st, WagonWheel Presents... welcomes Otis Gibbs back to The Greystones when he tours the UK in support of his brand new record. Otis Gibbs is a songwriter, storyteller, painter, photographer, and planter of 7,176 trees. He once wrestled a bear and lost. He's been called the best unknown songwriter in music today, but if you ask him, hell just say he's a folksinger. The Trust Of Crows, his tenth studio album, was recorded at the iconic Columbia Studio A in Nashville, where Bob Dylan made Blonde on Blonde and Nashville Skyline. It's been closed to the public for decades, but Otis was given permission to record there. Gibbs storytelling extends beyond music to his YouTube channel, where more than 100,000 subscribers listen to tales and folklore passed down by legendary musicians. In an effort to preserve these personal stories before theyre lost to history, he single handedly built a living archive in the spirit of The Lomax Family, Studs Terkel or even Charles Kuralt. This deeply personal project reflects Otis reverence for history, lived experience, and the characters who shaped American roots music from the ground up. Otis embraced a DIY ethic early on, sometimes by choice and sometimes out of necessity. Whether it's starting his own record label, podcast, YouTube channel, or whatever else needed to be done, he's created his own ecosystem in the artsall while wearing the same work shirt and old felt hat that he wore planting trees 25 years ago. He continues to shine a light on the forgotten people, places, and the unvarnished beauty of everyday life. Otis and his partner, Amy Lashley have spent the last 20 years in their tiny home on top of a hill in East Nashville surrounded by artists, weirdos, radicals and as many animals as possible. Doors open 7.45pm. Entry will be more on the door. Support comes from Chris Dover. http://otisgibbs.com http://www.facebook.com/ChrisDovermusician http://www.wagonwheelpresents.co.uk

Kiki Dee and Carmelo Lugerri

Kiki Dee and Carmelo Lugerri

10 May 2026 - 5 Jun 2026

Tickets are in great demand for this concert. Get yours early It started out as just another studio day for producer and guitarist, Carmelo Luggeri until pop legend Kiki Dee came in to put down a vocal . Hed seen her many times on TV, but once she started singing, he was just blown away by the amazing tone of her unmistakeable voice. Little did he suspect that, from that day on, his musical career was to change for ever. The late Steve Brown (the man who discovered Elton John) told him, There's something special happening when you play acoustically with Kiki.. you should team up. Possessed of a great eye for talent, Steve became their mentor. Carmelo admits: That was the day he got us to turn left. And now, 25 years on from that epiphany, the synergy between the two has blossomed, firmly establishing them as one of the UKs great musical pairings. 2018 saw a year of musical consolidation for the popular duo Bob Harris wanted them as opening act for the re-booted Whistle Test, and indeed this turned out to be a seminal moment, leading to long overdue recognition and critical acclaim. A large and influential TV audience was delighted to see Kiki not only looking superbly fit, but her unique voice even better than they remembered. Both performers enjoy a heritage which stretches back through decades of fine musicianship, yet in all that time Kiki Carmelo concerts never became a museum piece, a go through-the-motions tribute act. Their long-running body of work is not, nor ever will be, set in aspic. Kikis upbeat song Forward Motion perfectly encapsulates her innate disdain for standing still, her music constantly evolving. As well as K&C compositions and Carmelos beautiful acoustic arrangements of obligatory Kiki songs, sublime numbers by great artists are sprinkled into their concerts to great effect. Harry Manx, Leonard Cohen, Kate Bush & Lowell George are welcome additions to a KC setlist with even a bit of Depeche Mode & Frank Sinatra thrown in for good measure. Kiki laughs off this refreshingly cavalier approach: We venture all over the place musically but Ive learnt to embrace it our live shows are very eclectic. Equally at home playing intimate London jazz venues or Theatres and Arts Centres in far-flung market towns, the twos free-wheeling, often humorous vibe has made them a shoe-in for the flourishing Summer festival market. On stage, Carmelos mesmerising playing and arrangements plus loops and Asian Drones fill out the sound to great effect, with Kiki providing moody texture & subtle underscore on keys. Add to that Ms Dees unique and distinctive voice (which surely should have a national preservation order on it!) and audiences are guaranteed one wonderful evenings entertainment.

23 Apr 2026 - 27 May 2026

His much-anticipated second album, Steady Away, moves inward and takes on a more self-reflective quality, whilst retaining glimmers of soaring figures and pastoral imagery. Brain’s distinctive warm vocal and finger-picked guitar style are sustained alongside expansive strings and delicate piano arrangements, taking shape through evolving and introspective impressions on tenderness, loss, pain and awe in nature. Glancing off The Nave’s eaved ceilings with natural reverb, Steady Away’s 11 tracks, recorded by Tom Orrell, capture the intimacy of Chris’ songwriting. Steady Away further embeds Chris Brain within the contemporary folk scene, whilst gesturing towards the folk tradition. His commitment to folk is only deepened by the two folk clubs and folk festival in Leeds that Chris founded and runs, attracting a wide range of audiences and musicians alike.

3 Daft Monkeys

17 Oct 2026 - 20 Nov 2026

3 Daft Monkeys' dynamic style of world-influenced folk music and infectious dancing rhythms will leave you breathless, enthralled and exhilarated. After experiencing the band's notoriously energetic live performance at Glastonbury Festival last summer, Mark Radcliffe declared them as one of his Highlights of the Festival on BBC TV coverage, and subsequently invited them to play a session on his BBC Radio 2 Folk Show. The band have also performed a live session with Whispering Bob Harris on Radio 2, after he experienced them 'live' at Cropredy Festival. With their quirky and original approach to music, and their passion, intensity and sheer joy of life, 3 Daft Monkeys have gained themselves a large and loyal cult following, which is still growing rapidly due to their intense touring schedule. Their music is hard to pigeon-hole, mixing and crossing many musical genres from Celtic, Klezmer, Gypsy, Balkan, Latin, Ska, Dub Reggae, Indie, Rock and even a hint of Shostakovich. Fascinating lyrics of personal and whimsical observations on life, and folk tales both ancient and modern, are told within the swirling layers of their music, all with the essential catchy sing-along chorus. Their latest story-led and theatrical album Of Stones and Bones'(Best Album, Spiral Earth Awards) is a collection of old, new and fictional Cornish tales of forbidden love, murder, rebellion, witchcraft and piracy. All delivered with panache and a wicked vein of humour.

Richard Shindell

Richard Shindell

17 Nov 2026 - 17 Nov 2026

Richard Shindell lives as both an immigrant and emigrant, crossing thresholds, that informs his illumination of the human experience through narrative song. Shindell has inhabited a Zen Buddhist monastery, busked in the streets of Paris, opened for Joan Baez (who covered several of his songs), and collaborated with Grammy-winner Larry Campbell (Bob Dylan, Levon Helm, Elvis Costello). Originally from New York, now living in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Shindell is a writer whose songs paint pictures, tell stories, juxtapose ideas and images, inhabit characters, vividly evoking entire worlds along the way and expanding our sense of just what it is a song may be. Meticulously recorded over three years in New York and Buenos Aires, his most recent release, Careless, offered an ambitious, luxurious, full-length statement. Shindell immersed himself in the studio, allowing the time and latitude to explore, experiment, take risksto playas each of these eleven songs was given form and substance. While his signature acoustic guitar style is used to good effect, Careless also found Shindell plugging in more. The wider sonic and dynamic range of the electric has been a real inspiration. Rejuvenating. During the pandemic, Shindell stayed in Argentina, out on the wide open Pampa, reading, writing, taking walks, doing a little experimental recording, and tending the garden. He now returns to the road for a limited number of performances. Innovative, original and occasionally spiritual, Shindell's songs weave tales that interchangeably champion the downtrodden, exalt the disaffected or wax empathetic to those lost to society's fringes. From lighthearted ballads and adulterous love songs, to dirges and diatribes that skillfully skewer politics, prejudice, war and religion, to the comic point-of-view of a cow stuck in a barbed wire fence, he has a unique ability to morph into the soul of the many and varied personalities he casts as narrators in certain songsveritable novellas framed in haunting acoustic melodies. "Occasionally an artist has a night that makes even skeptics think, O.K., maybe he is the best. Richard Shindell achieved this." Ann Powers, NY Times

The Sons weave wild stories between their heartbreaking and rousing songs, taking audiences on a deeply imaginative trip every show. The couple have been riding the highs and lows of rock n roll road life ever since. In 2023 Parker Barrow expanded with the full-time inclusion of guitarist and musical director Alex Bender. Jon Gomm

Jon Gomm

8 Oct 2026 - 23 Oct 2026

Jon Gomm, based in Leeds, West Yorkshire in the UK, is an acoustic singer-songwriter with a revolutionary virtuoso guitar style, where he uses one acoustic guitar to create drum sounds, basslines and twisting melodies all at the same time. The emphasis is still on the soulful vocals and songwriting, and his original material is influenced by everything from Robert Johnson to Radiohead. His live shows combine deeply personal performances and a natural wit, with a once seen, never forgotten two-handed guitar style, both physical and complex, producing sounds people can barely believe are coming from a humble acoustic guitar. Jon first laid his hands on a guitar at the age of two (actually it was a ukulele - his parents couldn't find a guitar small enough). He wrote his first song at the age of six, and was soon accompanying his father, a music critic, to gigs in his hometown of Blackpool. Touring musicians would often stay at the Gomm household on the understanding Jon would get a guitar lesson, meaning he had one-to-one instruction from such blues legends as BB King and Jack Bruce of Cream. Nowadays, Jon tours worldwide. In January 2012 his song Passionflower went viral online, with the video passing 6 million hits, resulting in national TV appearances in the UK, Portugal, Holland, Brazil and Turkey.

British singer-songwriter Tom Mcrae, along with his regular touring musicians ‘The Standing Band’, has been quietly moving up the ranks of the most respected songwriters in the world today after releasing 7 critically acclaimed studio albums over the last 15 years and writing for a variety of artists and singers. Mcrae’s eponymous debut album in 2000 was nominated for a The Mercury Prize, a Q Magazine Award, and a Brit, and the subsequent two years of touring cemented his reputation as one the most entertaining and powerful artists touring today. Mcrae’s second album, Just Like Blood, released to wide acclaim, with every track being licensed for TV and film use, his style of music fitting perfectly the darker output of LA’s film studios. Since then, Essex-born Mcrae has released five more albums, relocated internationally three times and set up his own label Buzztree Studios in Cornwall- and there’s no sign that he’s going to be slowing down anytime soon. Mcrae and his tour mates, The Standing Band, a collection of incredible musicians and loyal friends, released their latest record ‘Did I Sleep and Miss The Boarder’ this Autumn. The album and its accompanying tour have further added to the cult that is rapidly springing up around this talented and dedicated artist and his ragtag band. For an artist working in a genre often considered by the music press to be ‘sensitive and self-indulgent’, Mcrae possesses the talent to blow the roof off a venue with his passionate performances, as well as the innate ability forge a strong humorous bond with his audience.
