Chantel then pursued further education and left with a First Class Honours degree in Popular Music and a coveted prize, the college’s musician of the year award. Chantel released her highly anticipated second album, Lose Control, in October 2015 on her independent boutique label Tis Rock Music, this being the follow up to her critically acclaimed 2011 debut album, Like No Other.

He has an extensive collection of BBC R2 Folk awards, plus a fistful of Scottish NaTrads awards for everything from best album, best singer and best live act to best original song. He has worked with many excellent musicians, including Jack Bruce, Eddi Reader, Mark Knopfler, Jerry Douglas and Roddy Woomble, and is a member of the beautiful multi-media project Spell Songs: The Lost Words. Baskery

Baskery

22 Apr 2026 - 22 Nov 2026

The three sisters can't recall when or why they started playing, the music’s always just been there. In their late teens, the sisters joined forces with their dad, who for decades was a one man band playing old blues and country tunes for a living. This foundation of classic "roots music and Americana" settled in their hearts, but also awoke the urge of breaking the rules of traditional music. Baskery is a band built on what three people can do together and it's all about turning the music on its head, blending the straightforwardness of punk with the subtlety of singer/ songwriting. The first album, "Fall Among Thieves" (2008) was recorded in Stockholm, co-produced by Lasse Mårtén (Pink, 'Peter, Bjorn and John', Kelly Clarkson, Lykke Li, Primal Scream ). "New Friends" (2011) the follow up, the band referred to it as the "gypsy album" since it was mainly tracked on the road in various hotel rooms and band apartments, then mixed in Berlin by Blackpete (Depeche Mode, Joe Jackson, Peter Fox). As a contrast to the first two albums which took several months to make, the third one "Little Wild Life" (2013) was recorded during ten days in an old dance studio converted to a studio in former east Berlin, co-produced by Matt Wignall (Cold War Kids, J. Roddy Walston, Wargirl). All three albums received great acclaim by the press and are released in numerous countries. The releases in combination with relentless touring have given the band a reputation as one of the music scene's most noticeable live acts.

Martyn Joseph is a completely unique and mind-blowing artist. Take everything you think you know about singer-songwriters and rip it up. For one man and a guitar he creates a performance with a huge far-reaching sound that is energetic, compelling, and passionate. Be it to two hundred people or twenty thousand, he blows the crowd away night after night. After being signed to Sony Music in the early’90’s, for whom he recorded 2 albums and achieved Top 40 chart success, Martyn became a trailblazer for independent musicians. He launched his own record label in 1999 forging a successful career using the internet, ahead of many other artists. 2024 kicked off with the release of a new “masterful and career defining” (Fatea UK) studio album, “This Is What I Want To Say”, along with a sell out UK tour, followed by shows in mainland Europe and North America.. In July 2024 he was invited by BBC Radio 2 for a second time to write a song as part of their brand new award winning “21st Century Folk” project, following on from the success of his 2023 track, “Albert’s Place”, which featured in the original series, and which included appearances on BBC Breakfast TV, the Jeremy Vine and Ken Bruce shows on BBC Radio 2 along with Radio 4’s World at One. His critically acclaimed 2021 record, “1960” was made Folk Album of The Month in Mojo and awarded 4 starts by Uncut, and remained in the UK Official Folk charts for much of 2022. In April 2019 he won a “Wales Folk Award” for “Here Come the Young”, and in 2023 he was nominated for Best Solo Artist. He is gifted with the rare ability to speak to the soul with his expressive and poignant lyrics and has a career spanning over 40 years, 27 studio albums, over a half a million record sales and thousands of live performances. A good song makes you feel like you’re not alone in the world.” Martyn is also founder, along with his wife Justine, of the “Let Yourself Trust”.LYT works alongside Martyn’s music to help give profile to and fund Grassroots organisations across the globe. They have given away overa million pounds to over 20 different projects in the last 11 years. He is hailed as a raconteur weaving tales on political and human issues, as well as stories on the fragility of love, with a magical ability to reach out to his listeners through his passion and commitment. The songs are penned by Rob Heron, a crazy fool for country music and a full time dandy-cowboy. His songs are full of character, satire, and good old fashion hollerin'.The band, a hot six-piece, features Ben Fitzgerald (guitar), Tom Cronin (mandolin), Colin Nicholson (accordion), Ted Harbot (double bass) and Paul Archibald (drums). Their debut album, 'Money Isn't Everything', caused a sensation when it was released in 2012, winning a host of rave reviews many of them 5-star. Otis Gibbs @ Wagonwheel Presents...

Otis Gibbs @ Wagonwheel Presents...

21 May 2026 - 21 May 2026

On Thursday May 21st, WagonWheel Presents... welcomes Otis Gibbs back to The Greystones when he tours the UK in support of his brand new record. Otis Gibbs is a songwriter, storyteller, painter, photographer, and planter of 7,176 trees. He once wrestled a bear and lost. He's been called the best unknown songwriter in music today, but if you ask him, hell just say he's a folksinger. The Trust Of Crows, his tenth studio album, was recorded at the iconic Columbia Studio A in Nashville, where Bob Dylan made Blonde on Blonde and Nashville Skyline. It's been closed to the public for decades, but Otis was given permission to record there. Gibbs storytelling extends beyond music to his YouTube channel, where more than 100,000 subscribers listen to tales and folklore passed down by legendary musicians. In an effort to preserve these personal stories before theyre lost to history, he single handedly built a living archive in the spirit of The Lomax Family, Studs Terkel or even Charles Kuralt. This deeply personal project reflects Otis reverence for history, lived experience, and the characters who shaped American roots music from the ground up. Otis embraced a DIY ethic early on, sometimes by choice and sometimes out of necessity. Whether it's starting his own record label, podcast, YouTube channel, or whatever else needed to be done, he's created his own ecosystem in the artsall while wearing the same work shirt and old felt hat that he wore planting trees 25 years ago. He continues to shine a light on the forgotten people, places, and the unvarnished beauty of everyday life. Otis and his partner, Amy Lashley have spent the last 20 years in their tiny home on top of a hill in East Nashville surrounded by artists, weirdos, radicals and as many animals as possible. Doors open 7.45pm. Entry will be more on the door. http://otisgibbs.com http://www.wagonwheelpresents.co.uk

Resonator fueled folk songs from Duluth Minnesota.

Scott Lavene

Scott Lavene

27 Jan 2026 - 14 Feb 2026

In support of his upcoming single, My Kinda Girl, Scott Lavene has announced an 11 date UK tour throughout September. My Kinda Girl is the third in a series of singles put out this year that will pave the way for his forthcoming debut album in 2019. Born in Essex, Scott Lavene was raised on power ballads, punk and swearing. In bands since his teens, Scott travelled about, scratching out a living with deadbeat jobs trying to find something to cling to. After couple of years in France and a brief stint in New York, including a playing at the infamous CBGB's Scott returned to London and came close to a major label deal with his sordid songs. Instead Scott disappeared on a rusty old boat, a floating shed, for five years. Hiding from the world. Broke and bemused. Solitude and lonely debauchery. After five years of this Scott went kaput, so spent some time in a house for the bewildered where he emerged full of life and songs. A self released album in a band called Big Top Heartbreak led to being signed to Funnel Music as a solo artist. The first single, 'It's All Gonna Blow' has been played by Steve Lamacq on his BBC 6Music show and Scott had a residency at the Brighton Fringe as well as a sell out show at Crofters Rights in Bristol for the 7inch vinyl release show.

The group recorded a bunch of critically acclaimed singles (almost always 'Single Of The Week' in the music press) and three albums, plus many radio sessions for their great supporter Peel. They also regularly toured the UK and Northern Europe, as headliners and supporting acts as diverse as Bo Diddley and Nico. His latest release, New Roses, received from MOJO and was named Album of the Month. While Bens previous album Sweet Anhedonia felt like the American heartland witnessed through the window of a car going 80mph (American Songwriter), New Roses feels like being stuffed into the trunk and driven into an imploding star. The record is a singular and personal vision, with de la Cour playing nearly every instrument and delivering his strongest vocal performance yet. The result is a razor-sharp album full of what he calls night songs haunting, impactful songs that feel like the witching hour. In a collection of songs filled with juxtaposition and duality, de la Cour balances doom and optimism, seeking out kernels of hope in the darkness.

Rhino's Revenge is the 'side band of Status Quo's bass player, John Rhino Edwards; a band that now includes Status Quo's drummer, Leon Cave, who joined the three-piece in 2023. Craig Joiner of Romeo's Daughter completes the line-up on guitar. The band has been busy touring to promote Just Sayin, the latest studio album from Edwards. Now with three albums of original material, Rhino's Revenge brings songs from that repertoire to the stage alongside Quo favourites which Rhino has either written or co-written, some timeless rock classics and an element of the spontaneous unknown. I do like to surprise myself and everyone else by throwing in a song which we havent necessarily even rehearsed before, in the heat of the moment, he admits. Rhino's Revenge is made up from a pool of stellar players, subject to availability, that has included guitarist Jim Kirkpatrick from FM and Band of Friends and Richard Newman, who has performed with Paul Rodgers, Rory Gallagher, Jefferson Starship, Steve Marriott, Alvin Lee and Glenn Hughes. Having previously been a member of acts including The Climax Blues Band, Space and Dexy's Midnight Runners, Rhino was invited to join Quo in 1986 and has been permanent in the line-up ever since.

Dangerlust Vs Floater UK

Dangerlust Vs Floater UK

3 Jan 2026 - 3 Jan 2026

Floater UK were a mainstay of the Sheffield music scene at the turn of the Millenium. Their single, Welcome To My World, as featured on Steve Lamacq's Radio 1 show, was voted Christmas number 2 at Sheffield's much loved Offbeat club night. Three quarters of Floater UK reformed as Dangerlust, described by the NME as "female fronted dirty rock music with perfect pop choruses...think Elastica, Hole or The Pixies, fronted by an uber cool rock chick".
