Exploring the Sun in the Planetarium
1 Jun 2025 - 1 Jun 2025
Come and find out about your nearest star, the Sun. Bath Astronomers will have the mobile planetarium set up to show films about the Sun.
What is our star made of?
What colour is it?
How old is it? Will it go bang in the future?
What has the Sun ever done for us?
Bath Astronomers are bringing the sky, both day and night, to communities in and around Bath using the mobile planetarium and computer graphics to transport you and the family into space for a better view of the cosmos and the beautiful objects around us.
We also plan to have solar telescopes on hand in case the Sun is actually out so everyone can see the surface of the Sun safely as it was just 8 minutes ago.
Shows are being run at the Hub, Mulberry Park, Combe Down. Shows are suitable for all the family. You can choose to attend one of 25 minutes duration or 30 minutes duration.
All shows have the audience sat on the floor inside the dome of the planetarium. 20 floor cushions are provided for comfort during the shows.
