The Brothers Gillespie

The Brothers Gillespie

30 Oct 2026 - 30 Oct 2026

North Tyne troubadours The Brothers Gillespie combine the glorious tones of sibling harmony with brilliant multi-instrumentalism and inspired song-writing. Described by Folk Radio UK as 'weaving an especially compelling magic'. Sam and James are great protagonists of the living tradition of British folk music.
John Otway & Wild Willy Barrett

John Otway & Wild Willy Barrett

29 May 2026 - 19 Sept 2026

This magnetic bond still holds after more than 40 years of attempted escapes and still loved for their total in-yer-face originality, the contrast between the dead pan humour of Barrett and mad onstage antics of Otway are hilarious to watch. John's lyrical genius and Willy's outstanding musicianship (he seems to play almost every stringed instrument known to man, plus a few hybrids of his own making!) Ever keen to add a new dimension to the show, Willy has a new addition to his array of instruments. Beware the Moose Homp!!. Willy's interest in making instruments began when he commandeered two guitars made by his dad in 1965. One from an old guitar neck and a scaffold plank which became affectionally known as the Les Dawson, and the other branded the Mk1 Schitstik electric slide of similar pedigree. These instruments were used on many of the early tracks, including Really Free and Racing Cars) Willy's remark this will be the last time that many of you will see us together again was often hastily misinterpreted as the final throw of the dice, but the reason given it's not us packing up, it's you lot dying off, you know who you are! is often overlooked by eager scribes. And so the rumours abound. Earlier this year John celebrated his 5,000th gig to a packed house at London's Shepherd's Bush Empire. For any Otway/Barrett virgins out there who dont know what to expect, be prepared for everything from bare-chested theremin playing to wah wah wheelie bin as the duo jump from one hit and 40 near misses to another: An amazing and irreverent performance by two master entertainers.
Angeline Morrison

Angeline Morrison

27 Nov 2026 - 27 Nov 2026

Angeline Morrison is a singer, multi-instrumentalist and songwriter who explores traditional song with a deep love, respect and curiosity. She mostly makes music in the genres of wyrd folk and psych folk, her work infused with elements of soul music, literature, 60s beat pop sounds, folklore, myth and the supernatural. With a feral approach, a handmade sonic aesthetic and a belief in the importance of tenderness, Angeline's original compositions and re-stitchings of traditional songs focus on storytelling and the small things that often go unnoticed. Cohen Braithwaite-Kilcoyne

Cohen Braithwaite-Kilcoyne

25 Sept 2026 - 25 Sept 2026

Described in The Living Tradition as captivating, bold and striking, Cohen Braithwaite-Kilcoyne is at the forefront of his generation of English folk musicians as both a powerful and commanding singer and a masterful player of the Anglo concertina and melodeon. Cohen's music is rooted in the English folk tradition, celebrating the age-old musical heritage of this broad and diverse land. Traditional ballads, songs and tunes form the basis of Cohen's material, but with a smattering of early music, ragtime, and music hall thrown in for good measure along with regular forays into the music of the Caribbean. Richard Lewis + Odina

Richard Lewis + Odina

19 May 2026 - 19 May 2026

Come along to another edition of New Lands, and you can listen to the addictive tones of Richard Lewis and the wizardry that is Odina. Odina is the solo project of Catalan singer, songwriter, and composer Blanca Romeo de la Higuera. Her early musings, vulnerable and intimate, like a whispered diary entry, quietly captivated millions on Spotify. Now, she is embarking on a new album chapter set to see the light of day in 2027: a baroque-pop dreamscape where innocence fractures and meaning hides in the surreal. This is music that wanders-through identity, through absurdity, through the soft chaos of the self. Odina’s world is raw, strange, and searching, a place that feels both far away and deeply familiar. Richard Lewis are an Oxford/London duo. Their EP ‘Live in Vienna’ came out in 2023, and they are currently working on their first album. Presented by The Ivy House. This is an 18+ event.

Matthew Ryan Thomas / Garden Centre / Animal Soup
Feast eyes upon our Beer Fest 2026 lineup! A whole weekend of FREE live music at The Ivy House, plus a proposterous selection of beers, ciders and ales to whet your whistles. There is literally no excuse to not have a pint in your hand. FRIDAY MAY 15th sees us welcome POP GOD Matthew Ryan Thomas for a very special headline set, with support from indie pop greats Garden Centre and Animal Soup. Establishing himself as a devout student of pop, Matthew Ryan Thomas’s commitment to dizzying showmanship and the suspension of one’s disbelief is what makes the invitation to his ‘wee world’ all the more enticing. For fans of Robyn, Troye Sivan and STEPS. A keen-eyed songwriter, half cynical, half childlike in his curiosity, Garden Centre's Max Levy plumbs surreal meaning from life’s peculiarities and regularities. He has a knack, not unlike Randy Newman, to make his listener feel affection for the characters within his songs. The train conductor, the man asleep at his desk, the kid on his dirt bike - characters who may otherwise inspire little thought from us in our real lives - here, draw out a feeling of deep connection. Marrying the arch posturing of contemporary indie and the spirit of 90s alt rock, with the trash and camp of y2k poptimism, and the harmonic language of música popular brasileira, the six-piece Animal Soup (led by London-based studio engineer and producer Joe Osborne) finds its even keel somewhere amidst London’s eclectic and genre-spanning guitar band scene. Presented by The Ivy House. This is an 18+ event

Djank / Crazy Paving / Or Sobre Blau

Djank / Crazy Paving / Or Sobre Blau

22 May 2026 - 22 May 2026

The Ivy House presents a night of incredible new music, with some of the most exciting new voices in the scene. Formed by Taylor Pollock, djank is the amalgamation of all of the kitschy antiques your grandparents hoarded and all of the beers you stole in highschool. Formed into a big mess of heavy guitars, four part harmonies, DIY videos, and lofi cassette loops, djank take inspiration from folk, midwest emo, 90’s pop, and whatever records or snippets of audio they find in charity shops and on Internet Archive. Robbie Carman’s new project, Crazy Paving, released their debut EP at the end of last year. Though the material is written by Robbie, the band recorded and perform live as an energetic seven piece. The group consists of members from other bands of the same scene (nudista, Flypaper, Wilshaw, Moon Balloon, Baggio) and are very comfortable with each other on stage, this makes for a great show. Clearly influenced by the likes of Beck, The Clean, Buzzcocks and the Undertones. Or Sobre Blau is Kiran Leonard and Andreu G. Serra, whose new album Making Friends is out on June 2nd via Stroom TV. Harmonically, the duo's debt to Slint's ambivalent dissonances and the misshapen free blues of Loren Connors and Bill Orcutt remains evident. Added to this, the more expansive sound on “Making Friends” draws from wells as varied as Title Fight's scrappy emo, Yellow Swans' ultra-thick blasted-out fuzz, and Maher Shalal Hash Baz's cracked arborescent chamber music. Presented by The Ivy House. This is an 18+ event

Theatre is a London-based emerging theatre company which aims to tell authentic stories from Margialnised Celtic Voices. We want to bring more authentic voices to London Theatre in terms of both the work we create and the creatives we work with. We have been running scratch nights, cabarets, poetry and monologue nights amongst other nights for three years. We want to create a network celtic creatives in London, and to nurture a community of Celtic artists. About the Water Chorus The Water Chorus started life around the folk clubs of London after the pandemic and have since become a mainstay of the capitals youthful folk revival. With a rich combination of four voices, fiddles, banjos, guitars, bouzoukis and concertinas, they play folk music that ranges from the raucously celebratory to the eerily affecting. Punky, upbeat arrangements re-discover the joy and energy in folk music, whilst atmospheric re-imaginings of almost-forgotten ballads find humour and absurdity in stories from our shared history.
