The Rabbitts

The Rabbitts

14 Nov 2026 - 6 Dec 2026

The Rabbitts craft music that blurs the lines between folk, alternative, and atmospheric pop. Known for their delicate harmonies, immersive arrangements, and a sound described as “ethereal and understated” (BBC Radio 6), they create songs that feel both intimate and cinematic. Critics have called their work “hypnotic... crafting a meditative spell” (Obscure Sound) and “intricately lush and completely captivating” (Podcart). The Norwich-based band began 2026 with an immersive and isolated creative retreat in the mountains. They now have a new album set for release on November 13th 2026. This show is part of their UK album release tour, where songs from the new album will be performed for the first time alongside a few old favourites. This tour follows on from their 2025 tour which sold out multiple shows around the UK, and the release of ‘Orbital Collection’, a series of four EPs the band released over the course of 12 months. The Rabbitts are an ever-evolving group who are constantly creating and rarely staying still. Presented by Silver Birch Sound. All ages. Under 16's must be accompanied by a parent or guardian
Erratic Batting: Bel Cobain (brownswood)
Erratic Batting Presents: Bel Cobain (Brownswood) FFO: Cleo Sol, Ego Ella May, Alfa Mist 19:30 Fri 23.10.26 The Jam Jar, Bristol Nick -Erratic Batting: "Listening to Bel’s songs feels equally familiar as it does fresh & progressive. I found myself revisiting noughties Bonobo, to remind myself where this sound began - and how it’s moved through Little Dragon to Sault and now, emphatically, to Bel Cobain. The Gilles Peterson/Brownswood influence on her new album Kizzy is profound. It feels like we’re watching the next steps of an artist becoming the one she is destined to be. Bristol is honoured to support her in our small way, and be part of this journey." \ \- Bel Cobain Bel's music transcends conventional boundaries, carving a niche with her radical ethos and poetic lyricism. Her artistry is embedded with a sense of purpose, challenging societal norms and political ideologies with every lyric penned. Accompanied by her eclectic ensemble, Bel’s performances are a testament to her relationship with music, with each member contributing to the collective synergy. Having graced Madia Vale Stage for Gilles Peterson, she signed to Brownswood to release her highly anticipated debut album 'Kizzy', cementing her place as one of the most exciting artists of her generation. \ \- Erratic Batting's Other Oddball Gigs 29.4.26. Soft Machine - Live At The Jam Jar

18 Nov 2026 - 18 Nov 2026

Soft Machine is one of the greatest avant/jazz-rock bands of all time. Their work, from their earliest performances as a psychedelic band, who were contemporaries of, and shared stages with Syd Barrett’s Pink Floyd and the Jimi Hendrix Experience, all the way to being one of Europe’s best known ‘fusion’ bands has influenced several generations of bands, and continues to be name-checked by today’s hip experimentalists. They are coming to The Jam Jar, for what promises to be a really special night on 18 November. This band is rooted in the celebrated 70’s version of the legendary group which recorded the acclaimed ‘Softs’ album in 1975, led by John Etheridge, and completed by outstanding sax star Theo Travis (Robert Fripp/David Gilmour/Steven Wilson). Since 2021 Roy Babbington retired from public performance and his chosen successor on the bass is Fred Thelonious Baker who has been a musician on the Canterbury scene for over 30 years - being a regular collaborator with the late Elton Dean, with Hugh Hopper and with guitarist Phil Miller (In Cahoots/Hatfield and the North). ‘The band, of course, has a broad palette - from Metheny-like jazz-rock to anything-goes improvisation; from pastoral passages with Etheridge on acoustic to an ambient flutescape from Travis. Compact and to the point, nothing overstays its welcome.’ \[The Times\] From £17+BF. The Jam Jar Presents: Benin International Musical
The Jam Jar is proud to present a Bristol debut for Benin International Musical - a Cotonou collective who have rocked the world over the last decade with their timeless sound. Influenced by the enduring legacy of Vodou worship dance, BIM blend traditional Beninese rhythms with Afro-funk, guitar fuzz, hip hop vocal chops, gospel power and radio-ready anthems. The Jam Jar Presents: Benin International Musical Wednesday 29th July 8pm The Jam Jar, Bristol BIM pays tribute to the music of the forebears of Dahomey. It reflects both traditional ceremonies and the trendy clubs of Cotonou, extending to Evangelical churches and the convents where voodoo deities are invoked. Associating voodoo rhythms and traditional songs, electronic melodies in the very spicy Beninese style with trip-hop grooves, hip hop, and rock, this collective of Beninese artists has all it takes to make us travel. Around the music, BIM, as an entity, has also developed an education and training project offering Beninese artists and cultural actors practical workshops on recording, computer-assisted music, video, photography and the media, with funding from Radio France, TV5 Monde, and other cultural institutions. The Jam Jar Presents: Ustad Noor Bakhsh
At 80 years old, Ustad Noor Bakhsh’s story is an interesting one. From an extremely remote village near Pasni, Balochistan, he is a master of the Balochi Benju (a keyed Zither), which he has played since he was a child. Noor Bakhsh is well known as a legendary instrumentalist throughout the Makran Coast, but only became more widely known in the last five or so years. After seeing a mobile phone video clip of Ustad playing, Musician and ethnomusicologist, Daniyal Ahmed traveled 1000km from his home in Karachi to find him. Daniyal’s recent recordings of Ustad went viral on social media and his global touring career began shortly afterwards. The Benju looks something like a crudely electrified zither operated by typewriter-like buttons. Its existence began as a Japanese children’s toy called a taishōkoto before it was adopted by Balochi musicians and made into the refined folk instrument that it is today. Ustad plays an electric Benju, creating his unique sound through an old pickup and small Phillips amp he bought from a Karachi junk shop two decades ago. He carries forward the legacy of his teachers and inspirations such as Bilawal Belgium and Misri Khan Jamali but his own music is influenced by various traditions and musical forms far beyond Balochistan. His virtuosic playing is deeply rooted in Balochi musical forms and enriched by his knowledge of South Asian Raags, which he also renders in his own, experimental style. \+ Support Presented by The Jam Jar. Pigeon

Pigeon

3 Dec 2026 - 29 Jan 2027

Cosmic exploration. Spiritual transformation. Unbridled spontaneity. These are the guiding principles of Pigeon, a psychedelic five-piece rooted in the English seaside town of Margate, yet making music that transcends borders. Their debut album, OUTTANATIONAL, is a thrilling collection of party songs without limits: think William Onyeabor in outer-space or early Hot Chip making motorik afrobeat in a 70s New York loft. Building on a string of acclaimed EPs that have been playlisted on 6Music and led to coveted live slots at UK festivals like Glastonbury, Pigeon have evolved out of Afro-disco territory into something moodier. It’s an expansive record laced with heady krautrock, post-punk and punk-funk, indebted to the power of the groove and questing to find the meaning of home. Pigeon must fly.

Fulu Miziki (Afro-Futuristic-Punk) FFO: Nyege Nyege Tapes, BCUC, Onipa \+ Support + DJs 19:30 Thursday 27 Aug 2026 The Jam Jar, Bristol Erratic Batting says: "Drawing on Afrofuturism and wielding handmade instruments, they fuse punk energy with industrial soukous to create a hypnotic helter-skelter live show - exactly how we like it!" \ Fulu Miziki roughly translates as “music from garbage” which is in a literal sense is an accurate description of the thrillingly chaotic Eco-Friendly-Afro-futuristic-Punk-Assemble collective of artists who comes straight from a future where humans have reconciled with mother earth and with themselves. This multidisciplinary collective of artists is based in the heart of Africa, in the Congolese capital city Kinshasa. For several years now, it’s members have spent an amount of time conceptualising an orchestra made from objects found in the trash, constantly changing instruments, and always in search of new sounds. Making their own instruments, performance costumes, and mask is essential to the approach of Fulu Miziki’s musical core ideology.
