Join us on January 17th 10am-5pm for an immersive workshop led by Sophie Grenfell. This day long workshop will provide an introduction to the role of the intimacy director for directors, actors, stage managers and producers. Through discussion and practical exercises, participants will gain an understanding of key concepts of safer intimacy practise and explore why the presence of an intimacy professional is essential when staging intimate scenes. During the workshop we will delve into methods for clearer communication, acknowledging power structures, choreography and de-rolling. Participants will leave empowered with the skills to build consent forward rehearsal and performance spaces.
This workshop is not exclusive to directors or production managers; actors are fully encouraged to participate, empowering themselves to uphold consent-led practice and advocate for their boundaries in the rehearsal room.
