The Vaselines

The Vaselines

20 Dec 2025 - 21 Dec 2025

The Vaselines were formed in Edinburgh in 1987 by singers/guitarists Eugene Kelly and Frances McKee, soon signing to Pastels frontman Stephen Pastel's newly formed 53rd 3rd label. Nirvana's Kurt Cobain regularly cited the Vaselines influence in interviews with the music press and Nirvana would go on to cover the Vaselines' Molly's Lips and Son of a Gun (both later compiled on their Incesticide collection) as well as perform Jesus Doesn't Want Me for a Sunbeam on their legendary MTV Unplugged appearance. Cobain's gospel-spreading no doubt accelerated their rise to cult sainthood, but the Vaselines would have gotten there sooner or later on their own accord. Lewd but nave and abrasive yet tender, the band's shambling, primitivist squall remains a perfect distillation of pop at its most guileless and euphoric.Eugene Kelly later went on to front Captain America / Eugenius, while McKee spent the better part of the decade out of sight, resurfaced in Suckle, and released a solo album in 2006. The Vaselines reunited proper in 2010 to record their second full album Sex With An X which was released on the Seattle label Sub Pop.This was followed by V for Vaselines in 2014. The Ramones inspired album featured many of the same players who helped make 'Sex.....', including Belle and Sebastian's Stevie Jackson, the 1990's Michael McGaughrin and Teenage Fanclub's Francis Macdonald.

With a wayward tenor and unaffected charm onstage he has come to be celebrated in his adopted country and further afield as a songwriter and lyricist of rare wit and remarkable honesty. Alongside activity with his band, Dan is also a well-travelled solo musician with a cult following. 2014 saw the release of his strident second album New Gods, which propelled Withered Hand into the charts, featuring appearances by friends, luminaries and supporters from the Scottish music scene, from Belle & Sebastian to Frightened Rabbit to The Vaselines and beyond.

Mumble Tide

Mumble Tide

29 Oct 2025 - 9 Nov 2025

Mumble Tide are a Bristol duo-come-couple who met through Gumtree. Gina Leonard put in an advert for a bassist to which cartoon-obsessed Ryan Rogers responded to. Together from their bedroom in Bristol, they make music that represents the freedom they feel around each other. As displayed on the recently acclaimed single "Sucker", nothing is too silly, nothing is too corny - Mumble Tide is a judgement free zone. They throw together the 90s guitar-hooks of their childhood, Leonard's sugar-sweet vocals and Rainbow-Road-esque synths all the while Furbs the Furby nods approvingly from her pedestal in the room's centre. The snarly single "Sucker" - the first in a host of new music for 2021 - is chaotic and endearingly vengeful, Leonard flicking the 'V' as she sings "so long, so long, sucker" over blistering, garage-infused guitars. It follows their debut EP "Love Thing" which saw Lauren Lavern, Steve Lamacq and tastemaker blogs come aboard the Mumble bandwagon. An entirely self-constructed world, Mumble Tide produce, make their own videos and make their own artwork and announced their entry to the live circuit with sold out shows in Bristol and London.

3 Nov 2025 - 14 Nov 2025

Berlin born and raised artist Albertine Sarges brings together a new band for her debut LP which approaches her take on feminist theory, musings on bisexuality, gender stereotypes and mental health. These topics fall under the ever-shifting veneer of Albertine’s chameleonic pop motifs: from Viv Albertine-inspired post-punk and kaleidoscopic dream-pop to quiet-loud guitar squall and Tune-Yards reminiscent vocal acrobatics. While Albertine Sarges maintains a sense of comedy in her approach, her music is also a platform to explore the self and contribute to broader societal discourse.

Arny Margret is a 20 year old singer-songwriter from the Westfjords of Iceland. Born and raised in a small town called Ísafjörður, she attended a music school from the age of six learning to play the piano. When she was 14 she got her first guitar and spent hours and days in her bedroom teaching herself to play it, slowly reaching the confidence to write her own music. Her music and lyrics paint beautiful and yet painful images inspired by her personal experiences and surroundings. Through her music one can almost experience how it is to live in an isolated place, surrounded by tall mountains that block the sun for a few months every year. Her music can best be described as indie folk and although Arny Margret clearly has a sound of her own, she draws influence from the likes of Adrianne Lenker, Aldous Harding and fellow Icelander Ásgeir.

Amsterdam indie stalwarts Pip Blom and Willem Smit, respectively the songwriter & vocal force behind Pip Blom and the driving creative mind behind Personal Trainer, have come together after a decade of intermittent collaborations to launch a new project: Long Fling. The duo's self-titled debut album arrives 3rd of October, 2025, unveiling a collection of charming, offbeat guitar and drum machine, kraut-rock tinged anthems, touching on everyday oddities like socks, shoes, and the allure of staying home. Unlike typical duets, Long Fling doesn’t focus on harmonies or traditional back-and-forth vocals. Instead, Pip and Willem trade lines over minimal, melodic arrangements that reflect their shared sensibilities. The songs are direct but often playful, shaped by a mix of guitars, drum machines, and off-the-cuff lyrics. On stage, Pip and Willem expand the sound with Sal Rubinstein, Darek Mercks, and Tender Blom. Long Fling made their surprise live debut in May at Amsterdam's London Calling Festival and have already earned themselves a busy summer, road testing their upcoming album at six European festivals, including Dorset's legendary End of the Road Festival. Following the October 3rd release of Long Fling, the band will embark on a seven-date tour across the Netherlands and the UK. Presented by Love Thy Neighbour. This is an 18+ event

Goon

Goon

21 Mar 2026 - 29 Mar 2026

We always think we have a plan. We will walk into a situation with a purpose and an idea, only to find that life has other things in store for us. Goon frontman and creative mastermind, Kenny Becker, had a record’s worth of new songs ready to record, studio time booked, and a vision for how it would all play out. But weeks into the recording, life hit him like a lightning bolt in the form of the sudden dissolution of his marriage and his subsequent psychic spiral. Blindsided by heartbreak, the music Becker had written for the record began to take on new meaning. What had come from joy was now something closer to agony. In the friction of that moment, Becker pushed his band-and his songwriting-into stranger territory. Facing down the pain and disappointment of life, the band created a masterpiece with their new album, Dream 3. Presented by DUST. This is an 18+ event

Written and recorded over a year and a half, the album traces a much wider arc, from Tei Shi's earliest musical explorations to this, her first long player. Born Valerie Teicher, Tei Shi remembers composing songs as early as eight years old. The now New York based artist was born in Buenos Aires and growing up between (Bogota,) Colombia and (Vancouver,) Canada. Throughout every song, Tei Shi brings a remarkable clarity to the very act of vulnerability, to exposing oneself and inviting others in.

Witch Post seeks to reclaim band music. They write songs that honour the wolffish qualities of Scottish Rock n’ Roll & the driving openness of American music. The name Witch Post comes from 17th century carvings in rural England that were crafted to ward off witches. Alaska and Dylan have adopted the name in honour of the witch. Ailbhe Reddy

Ailbhe Reddy

21 Apr 2026 - 21 Apr 2026

Ailbhe Reddy has announced details of her new album Endless Affair the follow-up to her critically acclaimed Choice Music Prize-nominated (Best Album) debut album Personal History and shared the video for new single Shitshow. Endless Affair is due out on 17 March 2023. 2022 has already seen Ailbhe Reddy make her debut at The Great Escape, Visions Festival and Latitude Festival, winning great swathes of new fans along the way. New single Shitshow a humbling account of a party's aftermath set to fuzzed-up, down-trodden guitars officially heralds the announcement of her new album. Ailbhe comments on the single: Shitshow came from a lyric I played with for a few months which was my god, look at the state of me, this is so embarrassing, wont you take me home It's kind of addressing another person and kind of addressing myself from the perspective of the morning after. I had those lyrics for a while and while working with Tommy McLaughlin on the record he jokingly said we should call the album Shitshow and I vowed to work that word into a lyric so it perfectly fit into this song. It's about looking back on a night out with regret while also addressing and apologising to an ex-partner about my antics. The first verse is to myself and the second verse is to someone else. It's kind of a tongue in cheek examination of a bad hangover. Tell me how did I get here This endless pitiful affair. It's quite the lyric for Ailbhe to open her new album Endless Affair with, but one that smartly captures the central idea it addresses: the challenges we face in letting go and accepting finality. With her new album Ailbhe poses these ideas across a spectrum covering the playful and up-beat to the sombre and heart-wrenching, plotting the album's path in a way that mirrors life's own evolution from the care-free to the serious. Its opening run of tracks in particular single Shitshow and Inhaling crave revelry and reflect on the wilder side of a youth increasingly viewed in the rear-view mirror. The likes of A Mess soar atop a swell of fuzzed-up indie-rock and a chorus of joyous hollers, while the come-down hits on the quietly brutal Last To Leave. Once the final notes of the album's arresting centrepiece Shoulder Blades ring out, there is a palpable sense that the struggle to let go is shifting away from the backdrop of the party and into that of relationships and mortality. This is where Endless Affair leaves the party and matures further into a story of more certain endings and letting go of life. When the album reaches its penultimate song, the stunningly vivid Pray For Me penned after the passing of Ailbhe's grandmother the strength of her song writing ability is laid out starkly. She instinctively straddles the line between emotional honesty and vulnerability, while delivering tongue in cheek moments, youthful stupidity, anger, defiance and heartache. Endless Affair exists as many of these things and leaves us with the final thought that we also do: you can be a party animal, a f★★★ up, a good partner, a bad partner, sensitive, unkind, a good daughter, and a bad one. All of this is rendered impressively in Endless Affair.

Smote

Smote

23 Oct 2025 - 13 May 2026

Baba Yaga's Hut Presents: Smote SMOTE, once a solo endeavor by Daniel Foggin, now expanded to a fuller ensemble blends traditional instrumentation - creaking strings, funeral drums, somber winds - with thunderous synth work and desolate guitar to craft drone and dirge. The new album “A Grand Stream” (Rocket Recordings 2024) is a full-scale psychic voyage into the ether and a drone-and-repetition-fuelled series of incantations that takes simple, primal ingredients and utilises them for the purposes of aural sorcery, summoning spectres and revelations aplenty in its wake. Smote’s austerity is one that refreshingly escapes the usual trappings of avant-garde music, simply by the force of its elemental vitality and its grounding of negative aural space. Its overpowering wall of sound still holds enough natural grace that it escapes the oppressive abusiveness of, say, Swans, and yet it is relentless in its forward thrust. “A Grand Stream” takes the band - one who’ve always eschewed the cliches and stumbling blocks of all contemporary psych rock in favour of their own unique and wyrd vision - into a realm in which they transcend through willpower and skill alike into something preternaturally thrilling and intimidating, mapping out their own crepuscular new territory in the paranormal. The Ukrainians’ unrelenting energy and cross-category appeal has meant that they have wowed audiences at more than a thousand festivals and clubs throughout Europe and North America over the last three decades, including both Glastonbury and Womad in the UK. As well as exploring the traditional Ukrainian folk repertoire The Ukrainians play Ukrainian language versions of Western pop songs, including their brilliantly danceable interpretations of classic tracks by Joy Division, T-Rex, The Sex Pistols, The Smiths and The Velvet Underground. The majority of their songs are self written in their unique cross-over style. The Ukrainians’ most recent, and arguably best album, ‘Summer in Lviv’ deals with themes that reflect the Ukraine of today: conflict, populations on the move, immigration, and a struggle for identity. It is also - like all Ukrainians’ albums - bursting with fabulous danceable tunes!

Daemonik Fonce , the Lexington, London
DaemoniK Fonce: When Welsh twins Stewart & Paul Summers (Ten Benson / The Sharp Tongues) started some experimental recordings combining psychedelia, poetry and punk rock, the resulting songs got them thinking. Recruiting old touring comrades Sam Mansbridge (The Rumblestrips) on bass, Hanna Edgren (Tits Of Death) on keys and vocals and Andy Prestidge (Morlock, Angelwitch, Warning) on drums, DaemöniK Fonce were fully formed. Invited to support bands including Sea Power & The Jim Jones All Stars, Gaye Bykers On Acid, the transformation from home studio project to fully fledged jaw dropping live band was complete. What you hear is a reflection of you, the listener. This band obviously LOVE MUSIC, LOVE BANDS, LOVE ROCKNROLL .. Deep thinking with heavy personality, pulling in references from Fairport Convention, Sex Pistols, LKJ, JCC, Hawkwind, Buzzcocks and Magazine. Wow Signal: WOW SIGNAL is the brainchild of Jonny Male and Jem Noble. Jonny has a long history as a pop writer with the likes of Saint Etienne, Lawrence (Denim, Gokart Mozart), Republica, Cerys Matthews, Miles Hunt and more. Jem is a musician who's had an impressive career in recording & front of house sound. If you like your pop music a bit wonky and bittersweet then come down and watch them play some tracks from their debut album, DOSTOYECSTASY, released in the new year. WOW SIGNAL will be joined onstage by drummer Conor Lawrence with whom they have toured extensively during the Republica years. Chalet De La Roche: Châlet de la Roche is Francophiles David Willis & Tones Sansom. Describing their sound, only half-jokingly, to anyone who asks as « The future of music - in 1980! » their debut is a moody, atmospheric album that reflects the tribal 1980s touchstones imprinted into their respective DNA: New Order/ Joy Division, Human League, The Cure ... the odd stolen Pixies bassline ... «Châlet de la Roche» also absorbs shoegaze and the odd flash of acid-house into its palette. First singles «Because» and «Abandonné» picked up 6music and Radio X plays and were followed an eponymous debut LP in January 2025. A new single «Fiction Scientifique» (September 2025) is inspired by the 1927 film Metropolis and the Dresden art movement Die Brücke who were working on bridging the past and future through art. It is the first new material from a new still-in-the-works album slated for Spring 2026. Meanwhile the group have been commissioned to remix legendary producer David M. Allen (The Cure, The Sisters of Mercy, Depeche Mode) for a forthcoming album, also out in early 2026. Originally formed with the idea of creating music with a bass driven post-punk sound, Châlet de la Roche were initially steered by the influence of «Low», Eno, dub, and the electronic pop of the early 80s. « At the start, because we had no singer, we sampled female voices culled from French arthouse films, 50s-70s chanson, which gave the songs at this point, instrumental - an extra emotional resonance. It also made everything suddenly sound authentically French. With David stepping up to write lyrics and sing, the material really began to take shape and fully formed songs began to arrive. The sampled French female vocals were retained, however, lending an intoxicating antipathy to David's lead vocal»

He promises to captivate with its dynamic blend of familiar intensity and innovative sounds. So far in the EP campaign, Humane The Moon has proven his ability to push the boundaries of his sound, and the full body of work continues to do so. Humane the Moon has a primary goal that sits at the heart of the sonically charged, often anxious yet viscerally enlivening music that he makes: it must be “something that makes you screw your face up a bit, run about and let loose,” he chuckles in a throaty East London accent. Prolapse

Prolapse

26 Oct 2025 - 30 Oct 2025

Prolapse originally formed in Leicester in the early 1990s and earned a cult following for their chaotic live sets, and tense and repetitious songs like Flex and Tina This Is Matthew Stone. They feature duelling vocalists Mick Derrick and Linda Steelyard, who play out an intense soap opera over a ferocious triple guitar assault and pummelling rhythm section. Their releases have included numerous singles and four albums on various labels, including Cherry Red and Radar, as well as recording four Peel sessions. The band has received critical acclaim, including singles of the week on the Radio 1 evening session and NME. They have also toured and shared bills with a diverse array of bands, including Stereolab, Sebadoh, Arab Strap and Sonic Youth. Pavement’s Stephen Malkmus described Prolapse as the best band of the weekend at Reading Festival. After a long hiatus, the band reformed in 2015 and occasionally play live dates. This short UK tour offers a rare chance to experience the Prolapse live show. Two of the band’s Peel sessions have recently been released on the Precious Recordings of London label and Pointless Walks to Dismal Places is re-issued as a double gatefold LP on Optic Nerve Records in July. Lazer Guided Melody blog: “A heady brew of hacking guitars, Krautrock references, non sequitur lyrics and caustic narrative; messy and shambolic for sure, but a self-professed mess, shaped by the theatricality of girl verses boy vocals, and a twist of sexual tension embellished with improvised, nonsensical wordplay. The band released four albums between ’94 and ’99 (Pointless Walks To Dismal Places; backsaturday; The Italian Flag; The Ghost of Dead Aeroplanes), and each still manages to sound not only fresh and relevant, but also urgent, and very, very necessary. It has been said, however, that no Prolapse experience can be deemed complete without having seen them live, when every gig felt as if it had been scripted by a quorum involving Samuel Beckett, Hunter S Thompson, Marjorie Proops and Mark E Smith”. Wasted Youth Present 'Xmas Revisited'
Wasted Youth were indie chart regulars in the early 80s post-punk scene, and toured the UK with The Only Ones, the Psychedelic Furs, Toyah, Classix Nouveaux and Modern English, to name but a few. Their 1981 album Wild and Wandering is widely considered to be an overlooked classic and has sold in excess of 25,000 copies in its lifetime. Heavily influenced by The Velvet Underground, The Doors and Iggy Pop, they forged an exciting sound and explosive live show, and regularly featured in the UK and European music press. Post-Punk, Pre-Goth, New Psychedelia, take your pick, Wasted Youth werent tied to any passing fashion or genre of the day, giving their music a timeless quality. Their new album Neo Noir was recorded over several months and features nine original compositions. Released in July (2025), Neo Noir captures the band in exciting and vibrant form, and sounds both contemporary and fresh...but unlike anybody else. Wasted Youth round off their most successful year since reforming with a special Xmas Revisited show at The Lexington in Islington on Saturday, December 6, 2025. Not only is it the venue they originally chose to announce their reformation in 2022, it is also a great venue for a host of reasons.
