The Blues came calling first, but rock was always waiting around the corner. Well it would be, wouldn’t it? Coming from the deep south, it was inevitable, but living in the deep south of a major Yorkshire City, there’s a gritty hard edge to life! A female guitar prodigy, Chantel was told by a major label that she had a "great voice, but girls don't play guitar like that!" Wisely ignoring their comments, she enrolled at the Leeds College of Music and became the first student in the college’s history, to achieve a 100% pass mark at BTEC, with 18 distinctions. Chantel then pursued further education and left with a First Class Honours degree in Popular Music and a coveted prize, the college’s musician of the year award. Chantel released her highly anticipated second album, Lose Control, in October 2015 on her independent boutique label Tis Rock Music, this being the follow up to her critically acclaimed 2011 debut album, Like No Other.

Case Oats

Case Oats

31 May 2026 - 3 Jun 2026

FORM Presents Case oats \+ Special Guests Baseball caps and horsetails, porch swings and “all else that fails”-these are the lyrical stomping grounds of Case Oats, the group led by Casey Walker and Spencer Tweedy. Transplanted from Missouri to Chicago, Walker has a knack for getting to the “gooey heart” of relationships and experience, of bringing a city-dwelling life back down to earth. With an unadorned delivery and an unflinching eye, Walker relates songs about moving on, about growing up in the Midwest, and about loyalty to desperately flawed people and gratitude for pain, for the way things end up. Case Oats’ yet-to-be-announced debut album is a well-defined, inviting labor of love. Light on pastiche and heavy on intention, their arrangements, backed by a group of longtime collaborators, put Case Oats on a continuum of porch-sitting, familiar songwriters. Presented by FORM. SWANSEA SOUND Hue from the Pooh Sticks, Amelia and Rob from Heavenly, Bob from The Dentists and Ian from a whole bunch of bands, by their powers combined, creators of two albums of sardonic takes on the music industry and attendant nostalgia in the classically melodic indiepop setting and now launching their thuird album. Don't miss this. QUCIK ROMANCE If the bass line from The Rezillos Flying Saucer Attack married the vocal line from X-Ray Spex's Oh Bondage, Up Yours!, with The Shangri-Las as bridesmaids; that's Quick Romance. Singer, Matilda Scotland and her bandmates are real mean teens, in love with clothes, music and Brian Jones's hair. Despite their tender years they combine raw talent with a knowledge of old school 77 punk that manifests itself in a tight set that nods in the direction of X-Ray Spex. Definitely ones to watch. EUROPEAN SUN Steve Miles released his second album as European Sun earliuer this year, accompanied by Ian Button (drums), Rob Pursey (bass) and Elin Miles (additional vocals). If one LP could act as a refutation of the toxic culture of masculine energy and the tech bro-sponsored whipping up of hatred that blights our lives - this is it. Utterly devoid of that grim modern male quality 'swagger, sometimes echoing the casual, intimate, fragile tones of the TV Personalities, the songs are bluntly emotional but shamelessly catchy. On other occasions - louder occasions - the echo of an angry Wreckless Eric riff can be heard. . This hand-made music is the opposite of AI-generated crud. Every bit of it, even the chaotic bits especially the chaotic bits - are deliberate and meticulously thought through

Acidfest Bristol: Mini Psych Fest With Bands & Visuals
ACIDFEST started as a 3-day festival in Iceland back in 2022. It's a travelling psych fest curated by psychedelic visionaries Thee Lucifer Sams from Liverpool, who took this concept around the UK and occasionally the world (besides Iceland, it also had an instalment in Austin, Texas during SXSW 2023). Thee Lucifer Sams are true visionaries, refusing to put their music on platforms such as Spotify or having social media. Their mix of semi-improvised psychedelic noise draws equally from the abstraction of Syd Barrett-era Pink Floyd, Lemmy's Hawkwind and Sonic Youth noise - with no songs just a full-on psychedelic rollercoaster of sound. Oscillator are an amazing psych trio from Northampton, offering exciting, chaotic psychedelia, and playing Bristol for the very first time. Madonovan is the best shoegaze artist you've never heard before, and an unique concept - a tribute to itself, covering songs written, but never released, over 30 years ago. A cathartic ode to lost youth, dreams and rock'n'roll itself. Dominoes is a brilliant, solo artist who's equal parts Ivor Cutler and Syd Barrett. Rich in melody, ideas and whimsy, you are sure to enjoy his set. ACIDFEST also features a killer, exclusive psych playlist to keep you in the mood before and after each act, as well as trippy visuals to create an unique atmosphere. It is more than just a "gig", but a true happening. This is what the Liverpool Psychedelic Society always offers at our events: an unique experience, something that the mainstream is unable to offer, truly grassroots and open to all. This is not about any "scene", we just create our own culture and everyone is welcome to enjoy... so come and join the society!
Warren James

Warren James

22 Aug 2026 - 22 Aug 2026

WARREN JAMES James Kirk and Warren McIntyre are "Warren James" James Kirk is a founding member of Glaswegian indie legends Orange Juice and his jangly, melodic guitar riffs were integral to the Sound Of Young Scotland, which in turn gave birth to indie music as we know it and inspired countless guitar players. He also wrote their jangletastic song 'Felicity". Last year his old bandmate Edwyn Collins asked him, alongside original Orange Juice drummer Steven Daly, to join him for a sort of OJ reunion on his farewell shows in Glasgow and Londonand they sounded fabulous! James has joined forces with Warren McIntyre of melodic pop folk-rockers Starry Skies, after he was asked to play Glas-Goes Pop (an inspired indie fest held in Glasgow) in 2022. They have become a prolific songwriting duo with their 1st single, limited edition double AA side Miss Green Tea and Costa del Culzean released (GGP-001 vinyl) in the Summer of 2025 to coincide with Glasgow Goes Pops 4th outing. On stage they are joined by Hal on bass and Michael (V-Twin/1990s) on drums.' Support THE LOVELY BASEMENT Bristol-based band the Lovely Basement play jangly indie pop-rock - think the Velvet Underground & Belle and Sebastian.Post-cool or too old to care Lovely beings in the Basement are: Kevin Bache: guitars, vocals Steve Dew: drums, percussion Katie Scaife: guitars, vocals Paul Waterworth, bass THE CHARLIE TIPPER REBELLION The fourth incarnation of a band who's prolific nature has seen them release nine LPs in just over a decade. Compared to everyone from Luna and Pavement to Belle and Sebastian and the Go Betweens, the band have doggedly ploughed their own furrow. Guitars always to the forefront, their latest LP 'Second Time Around' (Old Bad Habits) was released in summer 2024 and showcased a slightly more polished sound than previous offerings - but as ever with the songwriting at the centre. The band have always shared the vocals around, but singer Linda is now taking a more prominent position, handling main vocal duties on some of the band's new material for the first time.

Robber Robber

Robber Robber

8 Nov 2026 - 11 Nov 2026

Pinpointing the specific catalyst for an avalanche can be slippery - any combination of classic elements, human interference, or freak accident can trigger disaster - and documenting these precise moments often rests on serendipitous reflexes. On Two Wheels Move the Soul, Robber Robber offer themselves as ignition and capture every sound in the wake. Involuntarily thrust into the throws of rootless nomadism, Robber Robber ringleader Nina Cates collects a series of pressurized vignettes to assemble the Burlington quartet’s thrillingly explosive sophomore album. Two Wheels Move the Soul was written and recorded throughout the winter of 2024 and 2025, a season of Cates’ life characterized by near-constant upheaval. In January of 2025, Cates (and Robber Robber co-founder) Zack James were displaced from their longtime home at the behest of a landlord’s call to have their building demolished. In a moment’s notice - and amidst a particularly brutal Vermont winter - Cates and James were left to fend for themselves. Luckily, the two were able to tap a deep well of support within their community, finding respite on the couches of Lily Seabird, Greg Freeman, and Thus Love’s Echo Mars. An unused attic provided their longest arrangement. The personal and economic chaos of living at the mercy of nameless powers-that-be redirected into a hyperfocused attention on Two Wheels Move the Soul. Returning to Little Jamaica Studios - one of the sites for their acclaimed debut Wild Guess - Cates, James, guitarist Will Krulak and bassist Carney Hemler hunkered down with their trusted engineer Benny Yurco. The familiarity between the cast of characters allowed the studio to become a sanctuary, and foregrounded Two Wheels Move The Soul’s constant foray into sonically adventurous terrain. “Everywhere else that we had to be, we were very much visitors,” James recalls. “When we were working on the record, it was nice because it felt like this is our space.” Still, an overwhelming sense of impending doom hangs over Two Wheels Move the Soul. Every scribble on the guitar thins the air, each stab of percussion and wave of distortion makes it that much harder to breathe. On Two Wheels Move the Soul, landslides come early and the news of their arrival is just as chilly. Propelled by Cates’ nonchalant bars - inspired by the effortlessly-cool cadence of Gucci Mane and Lou Reed - Two Wheels Move the Soul saunters in and out of frame with the implicit assurance that any gaze will follow. Album opener and lead single “The Sound It Made” rattles into existence, eschewing exposition to plunge directly in the deep end. The polarized extremities of Robber Robber’s sonic palette fuse throughout Two Wheels Move the Soul, spanning post-punk scorchers, burnt-out slacker anthems, and melodies that sweeten the bitter pills stomached along the way. “Yes I know, gotta work for my pay,” Cates exhales on standout “New Year’s Eve,” a swaggering depiction of life’s myriad impediments. “I’m tired, so is everyone - how can I complain?” Cates wastes no time indulging in the miseries of late-stage capitalism, opting instead to resolve casual disappointment with a cool composure. “What more is there to do?,” Cates asks on “Pieces,” the slow-burning b-side intro that plainly lays out what happens when your life falls apart: “you’ll end up with a piece.” Working through the discomfort of class, upheaval, and catastrophe is a central philosophy on Two Wheels Move the Soul. “You can leave it, but it follows you home,” Cates buries beneath incendiary bursts on “It’s Perfect Out Here in the Sun.” Easy to miss, it is a possible catalyst nonetheless. In the midst of the avalanche itself, the sparks ignited throughout Two Wheels Move the Soul fall by the wayside, and all that’s left is the wreck. “Upend, upend,” Cates intones atop kinetic and relentless instrumentation. Then the pressure cracks again. “So we dance.” Brudenell Presents... This is a 14+ event (Under 18s to be accompanied by an adult)

Kacy & Clayton

Kacy & Clayton

15 Oct 2026 - 18 Oct 2026

We were raised on cattle ranches where we learned how to play traditional country music because that's what everyone wanted to hear. The music Kacy and Clayton make is inextricable from where they grew up. They sing about the kind of people you'd find in Wood Mountain, Saskatchewan (population very few). The hills, barns and remoteness of the area are in these songs, with a bittersweet acknowledgement that this music has taken them far from home. Kacy Anderson and Clayton Linthicum's new album Carrying On follows the international acclaim for their previous records Strange Country (which Q magazine called, A beautiful album that nudges a classic past into a brave future.) and 2017's The Siren's Song described by Uncut as Ageless and beguiling. A classic record for this or any other time. Their sound is equal parts homespun, coming from a family and community where playing music is an ever present part of social gatherings, and the rare country, blues and English folk rock these second cousins obsess over and collect. For Carrying On, Clayton cites as influences: Bobbie Gentry's The Delta Sweete, Hoyt Axton's My Griffin Is Gone, Cajun fiddle music, and the steel guitar of Ralph Mooney who played on many of the records that defined the Bakersfield country music scene of the 1950s. Sixties psych has also woven its way into these new songs; Kacy enjoys telling people that they live 250km from the mental hospital that coined the term 'psychedelic'. Having toured almost nonstop for the last two years, Carrying On was conceived and honed on the road and recorded immediately after a jaunt across Western Canada, mostly as live takes with the minimum of overdubs the songs having been tried and tested before audiences each night. The album was produced once again by Jeff Tweedy of Wilco and Uncle Tupelo fame, at his Loft studio in Chicago. The result is a sharpening of what Mojo magazine summed up as A beautiful mix of Kacy's crystalline vocals and Clayton's inventive, deep-groove country guitar. And a greater attention to detail in their songwriting; with narrative tales of loss, regret and yearning alongside vivid portraits of the Northern Great Plains and its isolated inhabitants. The songs The Forty-Ninth Parallel, The South Saskatchewan River, Providence Place and That Sweet Orchestra Sound were all written with local settings in mind - with the latter a tribute to the rural dance bands of the area, who referred to themselves as 'orchestras.' One such band, the Romansky Orchestra from Fir Mountain featured Kacy's Grandpa Carl in their line-up when he was in his teens. Of Carrying On, Jeff Tweedy said "When I first heard Kacy and Clayton, I was struck by how much detail and nuance they had absorbed from what sounded like a large swath of my record collection. When I told them that they were as good as the artists they were drawing from, I'm not sure they believed me. On this record I don't hear those influences as much as I hear them taking the things they love so intimately and telling their own story. I think they're a truly great band. Our songs for this album are inspired by rural living of the past and present, highlighting the toll that urban dwelling can take on first generation kids moving out of the country into the city.

Theatre

Theatre

5 Oct 2026 - 14 Oct 2026

There’s very little, if anything, known about the Limerick band, THEATRE, who seem to be moving in the shadows of Ireland’s explosive music scene. The five piece, made up of Dara, Oscar, Gerry and Sean, have whipped up a storm of excitement through their outstanding live shows; gorgeous, emotive melodies; and the stunning vocals of lead singer, Maeve. Blending ethereal rock music with folk and shoegaze, the music is understated yet feels timeless, and their songs seem to enter your body, trance-like, and never leave. Despite the spotlight shining so heavily on Irish music at the moment, they have spent a year writing and building their live set and have quietly become the ones to look out for on any line up. Now breaking their silence and set to release their first single ’The Fall’ the tension is certainly rising and there is a sense that finally, all will be revealed.

Wendy Eisenberg

Wendy Eisenberg

2 Nov 2026 - 2 Nov 2026

Kneed presents: Wendy Eisenberg \+ support Wendy Eisenberg has spent the past decade as a fixture of independent music and an artist of inspired multiplicity. As a singer-songwriter, improviser, and virtuoso guitarist, the coordinates of their artistry are ever-shifting, from art-rock to jazz to blistering free improv and eloquent folk. On catalog highlights including 2020’s Auto and the 2024 free-jazz sprawler Viewfinder, they’ve made a signature of ambition. After spending the past five years experimenting in different bands, genres, and creative challenges, and following a period of self-confrontation that they liken to a personal exorcism, Eisenberg has arrived at a milestone. The poetic and formally daring folk songs of Wendy’s self-titled new album (Joyful Noise) comprise their most certain vision yet. These songs began to take root in 2020 when Eisenberg moved from Western Massachusetts - where they’d lived for a few years after attending Boston’s New England Conservatory - and relocated to Brooklyn. Longing for the pastoral feel of their former home, Eisenberg gravitated towards the warm sounds of country and folk. “The songs are genuinely folk songs,” Eisenberg says of their record. “The production is less about seeing what the guitar might be capable of and more accepting the inherent strangeness of the languages it has spoken for the last century and a half". \ Https://www.Instagram.Com/wendyeyes/ Https://kneed.Live/ Presented by kneed. Jamie McIntyre

Jamie McIntyre

11 Oct 2026 - 16 Oct 2026

Jamie McIntyres rise from busking on the streets of Galway city to stages across Ireland and the UK is one of Irelands latest growing success stories. Writing since the young age of 15, McIntyres musical journey began on Shop Street, busking during his college years. His early traction on social media helped to build a loyal following where he caught the eye of Gavin James who selected McIntyre to join him as support in Paris on his European tour as part of Threes City Stages initiative to find up and coming grassroots musicians and champion them. That groundwork paid off in the summer of 2024 when McIntyre released Over Galway Town, a viral hit garnering over 50 million views on TikTok and has since amassed over 7.5 million streams on Spotify, and sitting alongside some of the worlds biggest artists in the viral charts, reaching listeners from across the globe. That summer, McIntyre had the opportunity to work with Imelda May and performed at Electric Picnic as an add on to his Three City Stages experience, having impressed on his initial appearances with Gavin James. Sell-out support shows followed with Liverpool songwriter Jamie Webster at 3Olympia in Dublin and The Telegraph Building in Belfast, showcasing he was more than capable of holding his own on bigger stages. Last year saw McIntyre take his first steps as a headline artist, selling out shows in Dublin, Limerick and his hometown of Galway on his debut Irish tour. His EP Chapter 23 continued to grow his fanbase, with tracks West is Home and Grá quickly becoming live favourites and amassing over 250,000 streams in their first week alone (now sitting at over 2.3 million streams each). The For Folks Sake EP followed in October, accompanied by a sold-out Irish and UK tour that underlined just how quickly his audience has grown and introduced the world to arguably his most popular song to date, Melbourne a tried and tested story about love lost to the far side of the world. 2026 has continued that trajectory honing his live show across a sold out ten-date regional Irish tour and growing that UK presence with headline shows at The Camden in London and King Tuts in Glasgow while joining Florida beach-folk act The 502s across an eight-date UK and Ireland tour, including shows at Vicar Street in Dublin and The Limelight in Belfast, all sandwiched between new songs 17 Again and Off to America. McIntyre is one of the most exciting independent voices to emerge from Ireland in years. His songs are relatable and driven through lived experience and a Grá for home, familiar to those having had to watch as their loved ones leave for a new experience across the world and a comfort for those who are living it. If this is a breakthrough year for the Galway songwriter, by any measure, 2026 could be the year it becomes something more than a breakthrough. An artist built on authenticity, community and the kind of songwriting that turns strangers into sing-along crowds and songs into anthems for a new generation.
