Nia Wyn

Nia Wyn

23 Sept 2025 - 23 Sept 2025

Welsh soul artist and producer Nia Wyn has a talent for raw and powerful storytelling. Growing up in a small town in North Wales, Nia struggled with mental illness, isolation and confusion around her identity, taking solace in old records she found and playing guitar in her room. Inspired by the soul that came out of Philadelphia, Memphis and Detroit in the 60s and 70s, Nia writes, produces and sings songs about modern issues: being queer, hard times young people face in the UK and mental health. Her debut album A Pleasure To Have In Class showcases Nia's strong influences of mid-century soul, but with a modern twist. Wyn's vivid storytelling and reflective lyricism is partnered with heavy Motown and Stax inspired arrangements, her unmistakable and distinctly powerful vocals. The album is a heartfelt and raw confession of Nia Wyn's increased understanding of her own struggles and growth, and a deeper look into why she (and you) might have been a Pleasure To Have In Class back in the day. Cardinal Black

Cardinal Black

25 May 2025 - 1 Nov 2025

They say that good things come to those who wait. A little over two years after their launch, you could say that Cardinal Black are testament to the power of patience, thought and persistence. A debut iTunes #1 single and E.P.; a first gig to a hometown capacity crowd at Cardiff Castle; back-to-back sold out Academy tours with Myles Kennedy, then The Struts; a standing ovation at a Sold Out Royal Albert Hall supporting Peter Frampton; a live set recording in the Beatles’ legendary Studio Two at Abbey Road in London and a debut album that, within 24 hours of its release, had toppled both Taylor Swift and the Beatles from the top of Amazon UK’s album chart. An eventful first 2 years for any band. It takes years, so the saying goes, to become an overnight success... Rewind to 2010 and the Welsh-born trio of Tom Hollister, Chris Buck and Adam Roberts were riding a wave of hype, hotly-tipped by some of the biggest names in rock - most notably Steve Winwood who invited the band to record at his storied Wincraft Studios. A triumphant live set at Sonisphere was followed by a flight across the Atlantic to begin work on their first record, with veteran manager Alan Niven (Guns N’ Roses) at the helm. The lure of the U.S. proved irresistible to the nascent trio but, as is often the case, expectation rarely mirrors reality and the band struggled to adapt to the new country, culminating in singer Tom Hollister unexpectedly calling time on the band before returning to the U.K. “We tried to do the acrimonious split; creative differences and all that. We then quickly realised we were fairly reliant on one another,” says Buck. In the decade that followed, the lifelong friends cut their own individual paths whilst remaining close. Most notable has been the well-earned rise of guitarist Chris Buck, named in 2019 as ‘Best New Guitarist in the World’, who has forged a reputation as one of the most inventive and recognisable guitar players in music; winning plaudits from peers and the industry’s most iconic players alike. Drummer Adam Roberts found work as a first-call session player, whilst vocalist Tom Hollister moved into tour management - the three maintaining their musical connection by sporadically meeting up to perform together. It was just a matter of time then, before they were ready to make new music again. The writing and recording of new material began in 2020, under the name Cardinal Black, bolstered by the arrival of bassist Sam Williams. Fast forward to 2023 and the band embarked on an extensive European headline tour, culminating in an Americana Music Awards (UK) nomination for Artist of the Year. They may have taken the scenic route but Cardinal Black are finally here, and they've got plenty of stories to tell...

In April 2024, the band released their first offering – a self-titled EP – to high praise from the likes of Metal Hammer (‘UK metal’s most promising first impression of 2024’) and Distorted Sound (‘arena-worthy hooks… hellacious screams… gloriously heavy guitars’). unpeople are also nominated for Best UK Breakthrough Artist at last year’s Heavy Music Awards. Gordi

Gordi

13 May 2025 - 13 May 2025

“Being surrounded by death made me think about how beautiful life is.... I thought about all the ways we are like plasticine in life - how forces we can’t control, contort us into shapes, stretch us thin, and test our resilience. But sometimes, heart-wrenching change can be a thing of beauty.” On her third album, singer-songwriter and producer Gordi - aka Sophie Payten - reflects on the last few transformative years of her life. From coming out as queer and having to adjust the vision of her future, to working as a doctor on the frontline during the pandemic, Gordi explores the beauty, heartbreak and finite nature of human experience across 12 new songs. There’s the effervescent, euphoric pop of ‘Peripheral Lover’, the drama and intrigue of the fractured, experimental ‘Alien Cowboy’, the pain and anguish of songs like ‘PVC Divide’ and more tender moments like the absolute gift of ‘Lunch At Dune’. Throughout the entirety of the genre-blending Like Plasticine, Gordi’s vocals are at the fore, layered over experimental, intelligent production. No two songs are the same, each its own unique part of the whole. All songs are charged with emotion and insight, taking the listener on a breathtaking, cerebral journey along the highs and lows of Gordi’s life (and in part their own). Thought-provoking and insightful, and bursting with emotion and heart, Like Plasticine is an album that fans of Gordi - new and old - are sure to adore for years to come. The Dangerous Summer

The Dangerous Summer

13 Jul 2025 - 13 Jul 2025

The Dangerous Summer signed their first record deal as high school seniors and quickly established themselves among the alt-rock world’s elite. Passionate delivery, confessional authenticity, and deeply resonant musical storytelling define their sound. The band writes hooks that serve as soundtracks for important life moments for a diverse group of listeners spread across the globe. The audience is more family than a fanbase. The community feeling is apparent at every gig, from Slam Dunk to Riot Fest, from touring with State Champs to headlining shows. Reach for the Sun is the record that “shot them into the pop-punk pantheon” (Kerrang!). Powered by unshakeable, enduring alt-rock anthems, the Ellicott City, Maryland band’s debut album made them heroes of the Warped Tour world, all while they carved their own unique path. 2011’s War Paint was a sophomore-slump-smashing follow-up. Grantland likened the “tall and wide” riffs of 2013’s Golden Record to The Hold Steady and U2. (“Catholic Girls” even earned The Danger Summer praise from the famously discerning Pitchfork.) Alternative Press saluted The Dangerous Summer as a group that stayed true to their sound, praising the songs on their 2018 self-titled comeback album as equal parts charismatic and addictive. 2019’s Mother Nature conjured an emotional storm, with an uplifting bent. Underoath’s Aaron Gillespie appeared on the 2020 EP, All That Is Left Of The Blue Sky. Produced by Will Beasley (Turnstile, Asking Alexandria), 2022’s Coming Home ushers in a new era for TDS. The Dangerous Summer never sacrificed their unique, diverse sonic identity, one that appeals to fans of everything from Kings Of Leon and Coldplay to Jimmy Eat World and Bright Eyes. Coming Home is a triumphant summary of what The Dangerous Summer is all about, past, present, and future. The Northern Pop Girlies: The Wishful Thinking Tour
Beth McKenzie, Chloe Charlotte, and Holly Nicholson are three of the most exciting emerging pop artists in the northern music scene right now. Making up ‘The Northern Pop Girlies’, the girls came together in November 2024, and created a tight-knit community. In February 2025, the girls made their mark and solidified their status in the music industry with their sold-out show at The Deaf Institute. Coming off the back of this success, JustForTheRecord presents ‘The Northern Pop Girlies: The Wishful Thinking Tour’, which will see them make their debut in Glasgow, Leeds, Birmingham, and London. Beth McKenzie is a bright new addition to today’s pop scene. With influences ranging from Lily Allen and Paloma Faith to Chappell Roan and Gracie Abrams, her debut EP ‘Does This Make Me A Bitter Woman?’ combines Britpop nostalgia with the rule-bending vision of this generation's hottest risers, as she lays out her most intimate thoughts. From deconstructing a partner’s internalised homophobia on her hit single ‘Don’t Tell My Boyfriend’, to wrestling with religious trauma on ‘The Cult’, she details her most personal experiences in the hope of being a voice for those who feel unheard. For fans of Taylor Swift, Maisie Peters and Olivia Rodrigo, Holly Nicholson is quickly making a name for herself within the music scene. From raw emotion to a fiery energy proving impossible to ignore, she delivers lyrics that capture a kaleidoscope of emotions and resonate with her listeners, whilst her sound disrupts expectations by combining bright 80’s inspired pop with aggressive guitars and punchy drums, offering a fresh take on contemporary pop music today. Chloe Charlotte brings a heartfelt approach to her music, writing about the intricacies of friendship, relationships and navigating her way through life. Her soft indie-pop sound acts as the soundtrack to many a people from around the world. Using song-writing to tell stories of experiences from her own life and as an outlet to pour her feelings in to, Chloe is not afraid to lay her emotions bare, which is exactly how she has allowed her audience to connect to her in such a vulnerable and special way. Zino Vinci

Zino Vinci

10 Jun 2025 - 10 Jun 2025

Rising UK rapper Zino Vinci is set to drop his highly anticipated project The Late Bloomer on April 11th, a bold and immersive body of work that solidifies his place in a new generation of rap innovators. Featuring fellow rising artists BXKS and Tendai. The project showcases Zino’s ability to blend introspection with high-energy soundscapes, offering a soundtrack to his self-created superhero’s world and with lead single “City Needs Me” Zino paints a engaging picture that sees him stepping into the role of a reluctant saviour, grappling with the weight of responsibility while embracing his destiny. "My love of comic books and superhero culture is well documented, so I decided to create my own hero, The Late Bloomer," says Zino. "This time around, I wanted to approach my project differently. Instead of a similar sound threaded throughout, I wanted to build a full soundtrack for my superhero’s universe." The project balances anthemic, high-energy tracks like “Professor X” with weightier, more reflective songs like “Stratford Job Centre”, creating a gripping sonic journey. Zino draws striking parallels between superhero responsibilities and the struggles of everyday life; navigating work, relationships, and personal ambition. At its core, The Late Bloomer is about resilience, reinvention, and defying expectations. It’s a fun, introspective, different, and daring project that invites listeners to interpret its themes in their own way. For Zino, "The Late Bloomer is whatever you need it to be and still, this is just the beginning." In January 2025, Heather Scowby passed away from an aggressive form of cancer. She was only in her 30s and her loss at such a tender age shocked everyone who knew her. She was widely known to many in the trance music community and loved nothing better than raving to her favourite artist, Bryan Kearney. Sadly, many in the community have lost friends or loved ones to cancer, whoever you are remembering, this event is designed as an opportunity to dance the day away to some great Trance DJ’s and rave to remember them. We know it is exactly how Heather and Neil would want to be remembered. If you're in town for a State of Trance London, why not join us for a rave the day before. Beaux

Beaux

12 Jun 2025 - 12 Jun 2025

With sonic touchstones from Rex Orange County to Troye Sivan to The 1975, 23 year old beaux’s self-taught, super catchy pop pairs indie sensibilities with intimate storytelling. Creating has always been in beaux’s blood; whether teaching himself visual effects at age 11, or posting videos on Vine at age 14 and sharing covers on YouTube - gaining him a huge online following as a result of their success - his savviness is no different when it comes to making music. So determined to pursue his burgeoning musical career, beaux finished up his GCSEs and A-Levels at the age of 15 and taught himself how to produce in Logic using online tutorials. He signed to Dirty Hit (The 1975, beabadoobee, Rina Sawayama, Wolf Alice) off of a chance DM to the label after seeing The 1975’s 2019 Reading Festival headline show. Following the release of his third EP in November 2021, Dork Magazine said “memories written down so i won’t forget them is a selection of tracks textured and crafted in a way that sounds more like an established and experienced superstar than an emerging talent.” The lead single, fall forward, was added to the BBC Radio 1 playlist as the BBC Music Introducing Track of the Week and beaux is one of seventeen artists on Dork’s Hype List 2022, alongside PinkPantheress, Gracie Abrams and label-mate Wallice. beaux’s debut release led NME to label him a “pop prodigy” - describing his EP as “a strutting slice of synth-pop that’s catchier than a rash, it boasts whispery vocals that evoke Troye Sivan, huge pop-hooks à la Lorde and glittering production somewhere between Billie Eilish and label-mate No Rome.” For accessibility information please see the accessibility information button/link below Presented by Live Nation.
