DC Blues hail from the mighty Ouse Delta in York, England and have been playing their own take on “the blues” with original material and selected covers since 2012. Since the band started they have opened for many well known artists such as Dr Feelgood, King King, Sari Schorr, Marcus Bonfanti & Ben Poole. They were invited to play at The Great British Rhythm & Blues Festival in Colne in 2018 and have previously appeared at several other blues festivals as well as continuing to play clubs & venues in the UK.

The Alligators are a three piece electric blues band from East Yorkshire. They formed in 2004 with the intention of playing good, old style rhythm 'n' blues with the classic line up of guitar, bass and drums, concentrating on an exciting live sound based on the styles of Chicago, New Orleans and Texas blues. Slide guitar features heavily in several of their numbers in the set. Their mission is 'to play R'n'B like it used to be'.

Gary Stewart is a singer/songwriter from Perthshire who cut his teeth performing on the Leeds Music Scene for 15 years before moving to York where he currently resides. Stewart writes songs in the Folk/Pop vein and is influenced by the Folk Artists of the '60's and '70's (Paul Simon/James Taylor/The Eagles/Joni Mitchell/Carole King). The Scottish Songsmith has released four Albums to date, his latest, 'Lost, Now Found', self-recorded, produced and released in June 2021. The debut single, 'Leopard' received steady A-List radio play on YO1 Radio, BBC Radio Scotland and Amazing Radio and the second single, 'Hot To Trot', features backing vocals from Rosie Doonan (Birdy/Peter Gabriel). His debut record, 'Boy Cries Wolf', garnered much praise from Janice Long and was played on Radio 2 courtesy of Steve Lamacq. The left-hander is also no stranger to the Festival circuit, having played Kendal Calling, Green Man and Larmer Tree Festivals to name but a few. When not performing his own music, the multi-instrumentalist busies himself playing drums for Hope & Social and bass for Leeds-based Fleetwood Mac Tribute, Weetwood Mac(ex-Ellen & The Escapades). He also fronts his own reworking of Paul Simon's Classic Album, 'Graceland', with a seven-piece band who have played many a Theatre and Festival, including Shrewsbury, Towersey, Costa Del Folk, Moonbeams and Underneath The Stars. Simon Snaize is an accomplished singer songwriter guitarist and producer, performing solo, and in duos as well as fronting the popular York based Y Street Band. His solo set is a mix of classics, blues, and Americana, delivered with strong vocals and explosive guitar playing. Ellen Smith is a singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and composer from Leeds, UK. In 2010 Ellen won Q Magazines Glastonbury Emerging Talent competition with her band Ellen & the Escapades and has since gone on to make main stage appearances at the festival a further two times. Having spent the following years writing and touring, in 2018 Ellen signed a publishing deal with 13 Artists / Warner Chappell UK, after releasing music with dark-electro pop band Shadowlark, produced by Dan Austin (Massive Attack, Doves, Biffy Clyro.) She also featured on ilan Bluestones Beatport chart-topping debut album Scars (Anjunabeats) with their track Rival. 2020 saw Ellen release her first solo material, having been commissioned to write the eponymous soundtrack to Take Us Home, an Amazon Prime docu-series following Leeds United during their momentous 2019/2020 promotion winning season. After the widespread success of Scars, Ellen wrote and recorded a further two tracks (Stranger To Your Love and Love Not Lust) with ilan Bluestone for his second LP Impulse (May 2021) featuring Brit nominated Alex Clare. Stranger To Your Love would be the fourth single from the record, receiving worldwide acclaim and support from artists such as Grammy nominated DJ and producer Armin van Buuren. In late 2021 Ellen was commissioned to arrange and record some compositions for a BBC Radio 4 programme about a British Nigerian man called David Oluwale, who was hounded by the police for many years and subsequently died from their actions. This led to the first successful prosecutions of police officers for the involvement in the death of a black person. The compositions were based on songs sung by Leeds Utd fans in the 70s in support of David after his death. In April 2022, Ellen formed and led the David Oluwale choir who performed at the unveiling of a Blue Plaque which was installed in memory of David on Leeds Bridge. Ellen is currently writing and recording solo material among other projects, set for release in 2025. Phil Hooley - as a singer songwriter and founder of the alt country band The Woolgatherers, Scarborough based Phil is also busy as a solo performer. Citing Guy Clarke, John Prine and Nick Lowe among his many influences, Phil's songs are lyrically driven and always thought provoking. Describing himself as 'late to the party' having worked the pubs and clubs for many years, and with an easy stage presence, Phil has received many plaudits for his live shows, and is a favourite on the festival circuit. He has released two albums to date 'Songs From the Back Room' and 'Provenance' in April this year, both receiving critical acclaim from the reviewers.

Crosscut Saw is a three-piece blues & roots band based in Yorkshire, UK. Dirty Ruby a five piece contemporary, but eclectic, sharp edged blues rock band hailing from the East Midlands. Recently compared to 70s Rock bands Stone the Crows and Vinegar Joe, with their eclectic, energetic style of Blues Rock, paired with hammond organ, beautiful bluesy guitar,tight rhythm section and soulful, well delivered lead vocals, Dirty Ruby are starting to carve themselves a local, well respected following on the UK Blues circuit. With a five track EP recorded live and mixed, edited and mastered entirely by the bands bass player Steve Taylor, and their debut single just released, this band of independent artists are now working on completing their debut album.

Neil Sadler's first professional recording was with the UK charting band Sleeping Lions. The band were signed to CBS, which later became Sony. Neil recorded at Air Studios founded by the legendary George Martin - the Beatles Producer; SARM East - Trevor Horn of The Buggles' studio and Maison Rouge, which was Ian Anderson of Jethro Tull's studios and others before opening his own - 'No Machine Studios'. Early in Neil's recording career he worked with outstanding Songwriters and Composers such as Guy Fletcher (BASCA) & Doug Flett, Don Black OBE, Leslie David Reed OBE and Tony McCaulay (9 times Ivor Novello Award Winner) and honed his distinct sound and guitar style whilst recording and performing with blues and rock artists such as Larry Miller, Mike Farmer (USA), Dennis Siggery and Malaya Blue.

The Yorkshire Gypsy Swing Collective A gypsy jazz supergroup with musicians from all around Yorkshire playing music inspired from legendary musicians Django Reinhardt and Stephane Grappelli of the 'Quintette du Hot Club de France'. The Collective remains in the spirit of Django and Stephane, whilst pushing the genre of 'gypsy jazz' forward into a modern sphere. The group consists of the traditional guitar (Lewis Kilvington and Martin Chung), double bass (James Munroe) and violin (Derek Magee) outfit with additional clarinet (Christine Pinkard) and were recently featured in Guitarist magazine about Django Reinhardt legacy. They mix in self penned songs with numbers made famous by the likes of Howling Wolf and Little Walter and throw in some by artists not so obviously from the blues tradition such as Tom Waits and Prince. What we do There's been one hell of a lot of popular music recorded since gramophones were invented. So much to choose from... The 309s take their pick of songs mostly from the southern States of America, in the years between 1925 and 1955. This gives us quite a range of music, from Western Swing ("jazz with a cowboy hat") created in Texas by Bob Wills, right through to Rock 'n' Roll's early days in Memphis, Tennessee. On the way we take in sub-genres such as country boogie and jump blues songs, now popular with jive dancers. No wonder, who can keep their feet still to Big Joe Turners Shake Rattle and Roll? We took these wonderful songs, we worked out what makes them tick, and now we use our instruments and skills to play them the best way we can. The Steelers, a 9-piece band comprising of musicians from around the UK, will perform a selection of timeless classics from such iconic albums as Pretzel Logic, The Royal Scam, AJA, and Goucho. Co-founded by Walter Becker and Donald Fagan in 1972, Steely Dan produced some of the greatest music of the 21st century- expect to hear a faithful live performance of the stunning original tracks that were crafted by the song writing partnership described as The American Beatles.
