Alfie Moore: Acopalypse Now

29 Jan 2026 - 5 Nov 2026

The Four Horsemen of Rising Crime, Global Warming, AI and Culture Wars are galloping towards us. Are we on the road to hell? And can we avoid the potholes? In his brand new tour show 'Fair Cop' Alfie has the antidote to the breakdown of law and order, fake news and the price of baked beans. Somewhere in a parallel universe little Alfie’s natural comedic performance skills were recognised by his doting parents who encouraged and developed his blossoming talent. After several years as a stage school brat Alfie’s angelic face was launched on stage and screen and the rest is history. Meanwhile, in this universe Alfie Moore was told to stop messing about in class before being ‘encouraged’ into the grinding, grimy world of an apprenticeship in the Sheffield steelworks. When recession hit he traded steel for copper by joining Humberside Police. In his 40s the two universes collided when Alfie made a bid for showbiz success – but unfortunately 30 years of shift-work and being punched in the face quite a lot, had left him with ‘a face for radio’. A face not so much ‘lived in’ as inhabited by a settlement of squatters with little regard to property maintenance and repair.

The 309's

The 309's

14 Mar 2026 - 14 Mar 2026

The 309s are first class, hard-working musicians and deserve every encouragement through these hard times.Bookers, venue owners, get on the line to these boys; theyre very good. Maverick Magazine. West Yorkshire 5 piece, The 309s, have spent the last 14 years rocking and rolling their swing jive repertoire at events all over the country. Think Hank Williams, Bob Wills and Louis Jordan joining forces to make a classic 20th century sound that is the roots of Rock and Roll. Crowds have danced the days and nights away to the 309s beat at an extraordinary range of festivals and gigs. What we do There's been one hell of a lot of popular music recorded since gramophones were invented. So much to choose from... The 309s take their pick of songs mostly from the southern States of America, in the years between 1925 and 1955. This gives us quite a range of music, from Western Swing ("jazz with a cowboy hat") created in Texas by Bob Wills, right through to Rock 'n' Roll's early days in Memphis, Tennessee. On the way we take in sub-genres such as country boogie and jump blues songs, now popular with jive dancers. No wonder, who can keep their feet still to Big Joe Turners Shake Rattle and Roll? We took these wonderful songs, we worked out what makes them tick, and now we use our instruments and skills to play them the best way we can. So was created the unique 309s sound, and it gets your feet jumping. Some are fast, a few are slow and romantic, and the rest are played with just the right pace and swing so you can dance all your favourite fancy moves. Since 2015 we have been adding our own songs to the mix. Created to sound like classics from the 40s & 50s, you'd be hard pressed to know which is old and which is new. Whichever it is, we're going to give you a good good good good time!

The Rollin'Stoned

The Rollin'Stoned

18 Apr 2026 - 18 Apr 2026

A RocknRoll Circus is coming to town everything seems to be ready... is everyone ready? A tribute to The Rolling Stones focusing on the early part of their career from 1964 - 1969 including Jumping Jack Flash, Paint It Black, Not Fade Away and Satisfaction. They have been described by The Times as better than the real thing and have been revered by both Stones fans for their authenticity and the real Stones who booked them for the bands birthday. With a Rollin Stoned show, the costumes are shamelessly camp gaudy and fab, the instruments genuinely vintage and the wit irreverent. However while the tongue is never far from the cheek we make sure it is never to the detriment of the music. A typical two hour show includes not only all the classic crowd pleasing hits, but is spiced with enough eclectic selections from the deeper recesses of Stones Album archives to satisfy the most demanding of Buffs, all performed with the same vibrantly authentic attack and raw energy that characterised the original Stones shows in their prime. For those who witnessed the Stones - Brian Jones et al - in their hey Day, this is a chance to revisit lost youth, for the rest of you, nows your chance to see what all the fuss was about. Named Best Tribute Band in the UK by The Stage Magazine. Keith Richards own mother, Doris, was kind enough to describe us as outstanding and fit to stand in for the Stones which is about as good an endorsement as any could wish. "....probably more authentic than the Stones themselves would be inclined to muster" The Times "phenomenal... I can't wait to tell Keith and Mick that you could easily stand in for them" Doris Richards (Keith's Mum) "A magnificent Mick... exquisitely designed costumes... spot-on guitar playing" Mail On Sunday "The song selection is what makes a Rollin Stoned show special" Mail On Sunday "...like watching my dad" Keith's daughter Angela "...about as true to the original as you can get." Times Magazine "A magnificent Mick... exquisitely designed costumes... spot-on guitar playing" Mail On Sunday "...Close your eyes! This must be the Stones at their absolute best!!" Alchemy Live!

Alchemy Live!

5 Jun 2026 - 5 Jun 2026

Alchemy Live were formed in 2020 by life long Dire Straits fans Martin Ledger and Neil Scott. Having dreamed of starting a Dire Straits tribute band for many years but neither having the time to do it due to both being busy full time musicians, the COVID pandemic and resultant lockdowns gave them that time in abundance. Rehearsals started in 2021 after the worst of the pandemic was over & their first show scheduled in York for Friday the 13th of May 2022 (what could possibly go wrong)? Much to the band's surprise, their inaugural show quickly sold out and many were turned away at the door without tickets. Further sell out shows followed around Yorkshire during the year and in January 2023 the band made their move into theatre shows. "It has always been the ethos to concentrate on getting the music and sound right rather than just putting on headbands and shiny jackets. Dire Straits themselves were always about the music first and we are fully committed to upholding that" says front man Martin Ledger. Every song choice is taken from a specific, classic live performance in Dire Straits' history, for example the show's opening song Money For Nothing is taken from their legendary performance at Live aid in 1985 and played note for note, except for the part where guest artist Sting sings the wrong words in the second verse! Such attention to detail is carried on throughout the band's tribute show, with every nuance of Mark Knopfler's playing technique followed faithfully. "He has these little percussive flourishes in his playing, which are really difficult to recreate but without them it's just not Knopfler" - Martin ledger.

The Manfreds - Get Your Kicks On Tour 2026
Between 1964 and 1979 Manfred Mann scored three British Number One hits plus two more Number One hits in America plus another seven that went Top 5 and six more that made the Top 10. Over this period Manfred Manns bands featured some of the finest singers on the British pop and rock scene: Paul Jones, Mike dAbo, Mick Rogers and Chris Thompson, all of whom have gone on to enjoy successful and varied solo careers. Their distinctive voices have all added to the rich variety of Manfred Manns classic hits. South African-born Manfred Lubowitz arrived in Britain in 1961. He was already an accomplished jazz pianist and quickly established himself on the London club circuit with drummer Mike Hug with whom he formed the Mann Hug Blues Brothers. In 1963 the band was re-christened Manfred Mann and with a line-up featuring Paul Jones on vocals and harmonica, Mike Vickers on guitar, flute and saxophone, Tom McGuinness on bass and Hug they set their sights on the British pop scene which was about to explode. They may have been a musically well-educated band but there was nothing sophisticated about Manfred Manns first hit the rowdy, frenetic 5-4-3-2-1 that they wrote for the theme song of the groundbreaking TV pop show Ready Steady Go! Boosted by its weekly exposure on the programme the single reached Number 5 early in 1964. Manfred Mann had their first Number One in the summer of that year with Do Wah Diddy Diddy Diddy, written by the famous New York Brill Building song writing duo of Ellie Greenwich and Jeff Barry. They also found themselves in the vanguard of the British pop invasion of America alongside the Beatles and the Animals (and ahead of the Rolling Stones) as the song shot to the top of the US charts. The band then proceeded to apply their sharp musical talents to other suitable pop songs such as Sha La La (an American hit for the Shirelles), the poignant Come Tomorrow and Oh No Not My Baby (written by another famous Brill Building duo, Carole King and Gerry Goffin) before turning their attention to Bob Dylans If You Gotta Go, Go Now that was a Number 2 hit in the UK and earned the approval of Dylan himself. In April 1966 Manfred Mann notched up their second British Number One with the gorgeous, melodic Pretty Flamingo. Surprisingly it only scraped into the American Top 30 but it left a lasting impression on a teenage Bruce Springsteen who regularly played it live during the early part of his career. Pretty Flamingo was the crowning glory for the first incarnation of Manfred Mann, not least for the personality-driven voice of Paul Jones who decided to bow out on a high note. He launched a solo career and starred in the movie Privilege playing a rock star before becoming one of Britains leading experts and commentators on the blues and R&B. His departure put the groups future in jeopardy but his replacement, the unknown public schoolboy Mike DAbo immediately stamped his own character on the band and the hits flowed seamlessly on Dylans Just Like A Woman, the quirky Semi-Detached Suburban Mr James and Ha! Ha! Said The Clown before racking up their third UK Number One early in 1968 with Dylans Mighty Quinn, an anthemic masterpiece that astonishingly Dylan never released himself. As the Sixties drew to a close Manfred and Mike Hug decided to explore new musical directions and after more Top Ten hits with My Name Is Jack, Fox On The Run and Ragamuffin Man, they disbanded Manfred Mann. The other members soon found new careers in other bands (Tom McGuiness formed McGuinness Flint) or in production. Mike DAbo was already an accomplished songwriter. Manfred and Mike Hug meanwhile embarked on a brief anti-pop career with the self-explanatory Chapter Three, a jazz-rock ensemble complete with a five-piece brass section. that was wilfully uncommercial but musically rewarding. After two albums Mike Hug decided to pursue a career composing soundtracks which notably included Up The Junction. Meanwhile key members of the 60s Manfred Mann line-ups Paul Jones, Mike DAbo, Mike Hugg and Tom McGuinness have banded together and perform as The Manfreds. Such is the enduring legacy of Manfred Mann over the past 40 years. In 2007, Mike dAbo became the proud father of twins, Ellie and Louis, and, for this year, he will be taking some time out to spend with his family. The Manfreds Let Em Roll tour takes to the road with a new album release.aptly titled Let Em Roll.and Mike will join the band for a few festival dates throughout the year before re-joining for their highly acclaimed Maximum Rhythm n Blues UK tour in 2010.

Authentic, unique and full of vitality, a special theatrical experience. Liz Stevenson, Artistic Director, Theatre by the Lake. The Dreamtime Fellrunner is a poetic, fun and moving exploration of Julies running exploits on the Lakeland fells. Julie is an athlete with a physical disability in the form of a developmental disease of the spine. A successful author of poetry and creative non-fiction this is her first theatre show. Presenting fellrunning as a type of land art and spiritual practice this is an aesthetic performance which allows people to experience the beauty of a wonderful sport, regardless of their degree of familiarity with the fells and running. Emphasising body-mind-spirit-place connections, the Dreamtime Fellrunner encounters themes of feminism, land rights, ageism and ableism, history and literature, while carrying us on a journey through the Lakeland fells.
